True, but apart from the few glimpses of the umbrella logo and lickers. The movies feel nothing like the games. I am however such a fan I watch these films and even owned them for a while. Even if I understand their crap levels.

Yeah it does. I mean I was in denial for a while about the first one. You see I liked the idea of new characters that would fit into the story of RE. But they screwed it up so badly I could not accept it anymore.

I hadn't played the first RE games before watching the first movie...I had some vague information on the VG series, but the movie to me, wasn't anything overly special.

Yes as a movie I agree and as a game conversion. Pretty on the poor side.

The RE movies are downright terrible even taking out the game equation. The first one was in my top 3 as worst movie I ever saw. They have little to no plot and character development is nonexistant. Its like here's zombies, shoot and kill. The game references were the only thing that barely saved the 2nd movie but even it was still very very bad

Oh I feel the same way. It could of been so much more but it was so so bad. Very crap zombies too. Poor work indeed.

they werent about plot development and character development though...they were like Transformers, or any other Michael Bay style summer action movie...they were about blowing crap up and violence and sex...and they work on that level...they dont work as RE movies, but they're decent generic zombie action movies.

As zombie movies go there are many better ones. I don't feel the action was that great either.

I didn't even bother watching the Resident Evil movies after I saw the previews.


As for the game...I find myself not playing that long because I get the case of the nerves and quit because REmake (to me) kind of make you tense....especially when you get into it. t:

Okay I just rented RE4 for the GC and played through the first village fight in Chaper 1 and I dont get all the complaints about the PS2 controls. I much preferred those to the GC controller. Having played through the opening section of the PC, GC and PS2 versions, I have to say the PC is definetly the best of the bunch. All the extras of the PS2 edition with the best graphics on all 3 versions. Plus I can use the PS2 controller and there's unlimited potential with mods. This is going to be my version of choice when Im done with RE remake to play all the way through

I never played the GC version but I love the PS2 version. It's amazing IMHO

Some movies aren't all interested in character development...a lot of video games, great video games are like that too. I'm just noticing this weird fad about every other guy on a movie message board looking for "character development" and whatnot for every single movie that comes out nowadays. There are a lot of movies made out there just for escape, eyecandy, and pure entertainment and I thought that was what they wanted out of making the RE movie(s). I never wanted to take it seriously, but still I'd say, EVEN WITH THIS IN MIND, they still didn't do a good job at it.

Totaly agreement here Chris.

I had this chat ealier in this thread about controls...while some versions are better than others all work fine to a avid gamer.
