If you see it as a rape it doesn't mean everyone does. Look you're awfully upset about this franchise, but it seems to me it would be more acceptable if it had more Nostalgia characters to please your nostalgia dreams really. No offense honestly even tho this comes off bluntly, but it really does seem you just hate the franchise because it doesn't show Chris/Leo/Jill/Claire but the protagonist is a newly created character.

The characters are a big part of the games success. So yea not having them follow the characters in the "films" is pretty lame, but honestly, i hate the "movies" because they are really, really, really bad. Really bad. Awful pieces of media. Poorly acted, poorly written, poorly directed and poorly produced. They are just poor movies.

I want to see a Resident Evil movie that follows the plot/characters of the game, seeing as how thats an element that helped to make the games popular, but like Tron Bonne noted, the "reboot" is going to be handled by the same talentless team who is responsible for the mess that we have now, so im not holding my breath that ill get to see a good film adaptation of this series.

I don't see this being anywhere close to true about the first movie, and to a degree the third movie.

Then you don't know what a good movie is. Sorry, but those are poor films, game adaptation or not.

Please, you're just upset we've yet to get a good game to screen adaptation of the games, so you just blindly hate the series.

The first one clearly could have been a prequel to the first game with a minor change to the ending. The second one pissed me off, so I'm not gonna defend that one, but it did try to give us characters from the games without butchering them, excluding Nemesis. The third one, while it may seem the most distant from the games actually incorporated parts of the games that the first two needed more of; diaries, the return of zombie dogs, birds, underground lab, a scientist that literally turned into one of his monsterous creations, Claire and Wesker.

I don't really see why people are that pissed and confused about a 4th movie. After the 2nd movie, it's clear they weren't going to have game characters as the main protagonist, which in a way was a good move because I can only imagine the *****ing that would go on if they gave Alice's personality to Jill or Claire, or made the bad guy from the first one Wesker. Fans would ***** how it was a bad representation of the games' characters. And as for the confused part, the movies made back their budget and more, meaning they were successes, so of course more would be made.

No one wants to watch a movie of someone else playing the game, that's why we got the movies we got. Unlike the games, the audience doesn't have the control to save Jill from being a sandwich, or to have Chris take on the crypt zombie boss.

I do believe the games can be made into movies the same way they've been made into the novels but someone's always going to complain. But to say that the RE movies are poor in acting, writing, direction and production is just plain, biased stupidity.

Then you don't know what a good movie is. Sorry, but those are poor films, game adaptation or not.

Oh, come one. Faithful or not. You don't actually think these are quality movies, do you?

For cheesy kung fu action againts Zombies? Yep. Not as great as RE4 or 5 on it, but it's still worth a movie ticket purchase.

And a little bit inside me dies yet again.

Hey i was as disappointed with the 3rd movie as people seem to hate the whole franchise lol, but atleast the 4th movie has removed all that psychic crap. I mean people here talk about this franchise being so bad, but so what about the 4th and 5th game? It has cheesy kung fu action againts Las Plagas Zombies now. So is it okay for the game franchise with it's recurring characters, but not okay for the movie franchise with a whole new cast. Mind you even Degeneration movie had alot of over the top moments with Leo, especially when he was holding on his own from falling when a freaking Tyrant monster was holding on his leg. :D So yeah to me, not really trying to shut off your peoples' opinions, it seems to me people are just alot more ******** about Alice than i never knew myself. =p Ofcourse i'm not saying the RE movie franchise is how the series should be done, lets be honest here. Who has found any of the recent zombie movies actually scary? Even the X of the Dead serie has become more comical and cheesy than its pre-20th century incarnations.

Note how they are the 4th and 5th installment in the franchise. The Movies started to go downhill with part 2. It's been doing so with increasing speed.

I'm not saying I'm ok with what the games did, although I blame the Movies partially, since they introduced things like the stupid laser grid and the red queen AI, who later made it into the games. Not to mention the stupid action. And as cheesy as the games were, the Movies seem to try to one up it in the cheesy department at every turn. They do so with alarming success. I've yet to see Ninjas and chicks with psychic abilities in the games.

So, because recent Zombie movies failed to be scary, we're not even gonna try anymore and instead turn horror into action movies? Well, looks like Paul Anderson shares that same thought process.

I would argue that there was no place to go downhill as they never even made it up there with the first one. I thought the 2nd was slightly better but not by much

And a little bit inside me dies yet again.

Whats worse, being that this film is going to be in 3D, more ppl than usual are going to flock to the theater to see that garbage.

This.

There was never any hill. They started at the damn bottom. Altho i wouldn't even say the 2nd was better than the first. The ppl behind the movies knew they sucked so they just tried to outdo themselves each time. So, in that regards they are quite talented. They find ways to suck a little more each time.

Heh, ok then. They started at the bottom and then burrowed down.

I don't know, I still think the first film may have had its right foot on the first step going up. The second one kind of dived, though. Not seen the third

What about the chick in Code Veronica? Alexia seemed to have some sort of psychic powers. No Ninjas so far just special squad people so far tho. :p

Are the GAMES either trying to be scary anymore? Honestly the thing is with alot of people. They found the original games scary because the camera angle gave you a limited view and the zombie sounds did the scary part. But if you we're now to pick up RE1 even the gamecube version, knew from start to end how to play it properly like a mad pro. You wouldn't find this scary either. It just seems people miss their nostalgia feeling and how they used to be scared of the franchise when younger.

Whats worse, being that this film is going to be in 3D, more ppl than usual are going to flock to the theater to see that garbage.

The difference is that they actually are FILMING it in 3D. Compared to Clash of the Titans and Alice in Wonderland which we're filmed in 2D and then converted.

I don't know, I still think the first film may have had its right foot on the first step going up. The second one kind of dived, though. Not seen the third

Don't bother. It has a few laughs, some cool action near the end but yeah it's not really worth the time.

She threw around some sort of flammable liquid. She wasn't a pyrokinetic.

Again, we are now into the 5th game. It took over a decade before Resident Evil started to be a pure action fest. The Movies started with part 2, by making Alice a superpowerd, badass, biker chick, who can fight hand to hand with Nemesis.

That's your defense? That games that used to be scary, cease to be scary over time? So it's ok if the movies don't try to be scary in the first place?

And it's going to be total gimmicky. Almost the entire Trailer consisted of scenes where crap is flying toward the camera.

Don't bother. It has a few laughs, some cool action near the end but yeah it's not really worth the time.

It actually features a psychic battle with a Tyrant... Why the heck didn't Paul Anderson simply direct a Parasite Eve movie if he loves this paranormal **** so much?

I'm also pretty sure she removely controlled objects aswell. Which is a psychic power.

The 4th game started the whole action genre. Leo kicking ass and being able to stand on his own againts his ex-collegue who had a Las Plagas on him and whatnot. Sure it came a year later before the 2nd movie, but making games takes a long time and we know the director wanted to move the RE franchise to a new direction.

That's your defense? That games that used to be scary, cease to be scary over time? So it's excuse if the movies don't try to be scary in the first place?

I'm saying people found the games scary because we we're all younger and more noobish. If we we're to pick up any of the older games, with our more faster fingers and gaming skills. We wouldn't find the games that scary anymore.

So yeah i'm really saying that it seems people are just lingering onto their Nostalgia and can't accept to move on.

Way to judge a movie by it's trailer. I thought How to Train your Dragon (recent example) would be a childish Dreamworks movie and it turned out to be an epic Bromance movie with wonderful story and characters. Resident Evil 5 can have more than just gimmicky 3D effects, but it seems people here are too ******** to even wait and see whats going to happen.

Nope, tentacles and flammable blood. That's it.

RE4 isn't as crazy as RE5 though, that really takes the cake. With Wesker channelling Neo and Chris punching boulders into submission. Even if Leon could stand up to Krauser, at least he fought against someone who wasn't an entire world out of his league and could still hold his own with good techniques.

The thing is, they were scary. It's not the game's fault if we toughen up. Other people new to it would probably get scared plenty of times. The Movies? They tried to be scary with the first one. After that they practically didn't bother anymore.

Anything gets less scary the more you expose yourself to it. The movies should at least be able to to give an initial fright. Of course it'll get less scary when I rewatched it and get used to the scenes.

It's a ****ed up Movie franchise, directed by a hack director. So excuse me if I don't give the movie the benefit of the doubt.

Oh allright. :)

Still RE4 was the change to direction. Even Capcom's own movie was a cheesy kung fu action with over the topness. Leo isn't even empowered yet he can climb up from falling WHILE a tyrant is on his legs? But hey this is acceptable, because Leo is part of our nostalgia.:awesome:

Still i'm just saying regarding the scaryness. If you give Resident Evil 5 to someone who is your age back when you played the first games. You think he'll find it scary? I'm sure he will.

This really is just each for their own if you ask me. Some people might find it scary, i highly doubt that, but when their intention is some good ol' action fest againts zombies and other monsters. They're doing pretty well on that department.

If he truly was such a hack director. Why is the recepting more positive? No i'm not only talking about the money it earned, but the critics and how the public views on it. So please no Transformers 2 comparison which was panned and hated by the critics.

I didnt see Leon doing any of that in Resident Evil 2. Resident Evil: Degeneration came AFTER the horrible films. So ya wanna know why Leon is doing that, just look at those crappy films that some damn way, made money. He wasnt doing anything like that in RE4 either, at least not like Chris was in RE5. The RE franchise didnt start going downhill until AFTER the first film came out. Coincidence? No.

Maybe, theres some chilling parts in RE5, but NO where on the level of the orig games(RE,RE2,RE:CV). RE5 has effectively moved RE out of the survival horror dept.

LOL.

34%
21%
22%

Know what those numbers are? Thats the score from RottenTomatoes.com for the 3 movies. The closer to 100%, the better your movie. And in case you wanna argue that its just fans giving those ratings, heres the critics score:

18%
8%
17%

The movies are bad. Stop trying to defend them.

Are you really trying to blame that all this action fest came because of the movies? Are you really trying to convince me that Capcom. After like 5 months Resident Evil 2: Apocalypse movie was released. They pulled off Resident Evil 4 from scraps as a action oriented game? You know dude, you really just happen to be a ******** fan, who can't accept the Resident Evil directors wanted to change the franchise, but instead you blame it on something else completely.

Once again it makes me ponder. If we we're given RE1 game now that we're all pretty much +20 years old. Would we find the game scary anymore? Or is it our childhood nostalgia?

The movies are bad. Stop trying to defend them.

But my opinion is higher than yours. Because my username starts with the letter D. Also RT is just one site. I'd like to use Metacritic as an argument rather:
1st movie: 33%
2nd movie: 41%
3rd movie: 35%

They're not trying to be Citizen Kane or some amazing best-franchise ever. No, they just happen to be Zombie movies with kung fu action. I'm not trying to defend themselves as magnificent best-franchise-ever film serie, i just happen to enjoy them for what they are. Wheres you insult as the thing that raped your childhood nostalgia.

Wow. This has become and epic hatefest. If you don't like the RE movies DON'T ****ING WATCH THEM. Don't tear down and insult those of us who do. They are what they are.

You know, this argument is getting rather tiresome. Not to mention that it's a **** defense. Even if they aren't as scary as they were back then, the fact is that actually were scary. And the remake on the Cube still has a great atmosphere with many eerie moments.

You like them, you enjoy them, that's your opinion and I can respect that. But don't try to come up with flimsy excuses and try to defend the movies for what they've become. As if you wouldn't like them if they actually stayed closer to the first 3 games.

Wow. This has become and epic hatefest. If you don't like the RE movies DON'T ****ING WATCH THEM. Don't tear down and insult those of us who do. They are what they are.

Yes, they are worst videogame Movie adaptations to have ever graced the planet. Wait... there's still that Uwe Boll fella. Ok, make that some of the worst.

No. YOU found them scary. You are trying to pull this as an global fact that the previous games we're scary. Where i'm pointing out that if you we're to give the Cube RE1 to a pro gamer whos like 20-30 years old. What are the chances he will find them scary? Again i'm just showing up that people are stuck with their childhood.

Am I the only one seeing the problem here?

Guess you gotta stop buying newer Resident Evil games all together then. Each for their own.

I found them close enough to the first 3 games. Sure it didn't have Jill or Chris, or even Leo or Claire as the protagonist, but it hasn't been a big deal for me whatsoever. Still my only cringe what they've become was the 3rd movie having those psychic powers. Which i'm happy to say aren't there anymore.

Has there ever been a video game adaption that everyone has liked? :wow::oldrazz:
