The Return of Vinyl: Turntables and Analog Audio

@Zantera I don't know if you're a fan of Agalloch, but they're re-issuing The Mantle and Ashes Against the Grain!

I already own both but Ashes is tempting to me because I only have it on standard black and I'm a sucker for colored vinyl. (I have The Mantle on grey vinyl) Might have to dip in and get one of the colored Ashes, it's my favorite album of theirs and one of my favorite metal albums in general!

Same! Mantle is also a fantastic album. I suppose you got the 2024 repress?

The shipping fees are crazy. The webstore has an estimation of $45 USD just to ship to Canada which is about the same amount for the Ashes LP. Ooof... I hope one of my local record stores will have them.

Speaking of represses, In Flames have recently re-issued some of their albums that hit recent anniversaries like Clayman and Colony. ****acle is up next and I already have it pre-ordered. :yay: Looking forward to The Jester Race. I love (and dearly miss) their classic Gothenburg style of melodeath.

I ended up getting the variant of Ashes that had some yellow mixed into it! Some albums you just need on a fancy color vinyl. :D

That In Flames one looks nice! I used to listen to them a lot back in my teenage years, I got into them through Come Clarity when I was 14 and I saw them live on the A Sense of Purpose tour. They're one of the biggest bands from my city so I've always had some local pride about them, though I must admit I haven't really loved anything they put out in the '10's or '20s'. I did however recently revisit their classics and I do think their classic run slaps really hard. The Jester Race up to Clayman is a really nice run of albums and I even like some of the ones after (though they get a bit more mixed). :)

Post-Clayman albums, I mostly listened to Reroute, Soundtrack and Come Clarity. CC was easily my favourite of their *ahem* KoRn era... :hehe:

I see you are from Gothenburg. Makes sense... :cwink: Speaking of which, Dark Tranquillity is another band re-issuing their albums on vinyl for anniversaries. They released Projector late last year for its 25h anniversary. This year, three of their albums reach a milestone so hopefully they will repress them on vinyl as well.

I need to dive into Dark Tranquillity for sure. I think I tried some of their popular albums back when I had my In Flames period but they didn't really stick with me. But I checked out their most recent album last year (Endtime Signals) and enjoyed that one quite a bit. Should definitely dive deeper into their discography this year. :p There's also At the Gates and a few other bands from this city so quite the booming music scene for a while.
