Here is a question for everyone: If the character of Nygma does show up in this film what is the chance that his alter ego neither shows up in this film nor the 3rd one? (after all, doc connors in the spiderman series has yet to become the lizard.....) Just a thought. If Nygma does show up this could be Nolan's way to throw the comic book fans a bone rather than to actually play anything relating to a key role, especially considering the role was cast so late in the game........
Its not realism its plausibility. Also audiences now a days like to have reasons why things happen, instead of just its just that way. Why would riddler leave riddles of his crime? He just does vs. He likes to taunt police or has OCD
Well when you get your Batman series going you can cast him however you would like.
Right, Like how Rob Zombie shows Michael Myers as a kid being picked on at school and having his sister touched by his drunken stepfather in the new Halloween. Much better (and "scarier") having these chliche'd childhood incidents set him off into the psychotic killer we know him as than not having a reason for him doing it like Carpenter did.
Wells said storytelling is more about what you don't show than what you do show.
So it's sort of been comfirmed that Anthony Michael Hall's character is going to be Edward Nygma aka The Riddler. But I was wondering if he's gonna start out right away as a villain or work at WayneTech, or something. Also, if he's already The Riddler, how is he gonna fit in with the "freaks vs. mobs" theme? Is he going to be another of Joker's victims like Harvey Dent, etc..
What do you guys think?
Its not confirmed and I hope it never is. Because for one, the riddler is a bad villain and two, this movie is already crammed with characters and villainsSo it's sort of been comfirmed that Anthony Michael Hall's character is going to be Edward Nygma aka The Riddler. Two-Face Making An Appearance?
By Garth FranklinSunday July 8th 2007 4:52pm
Whilst the Joker's visage hasn't been completely revealed in a hi-res, full color glossy photo, people are now generally aware of what Ledger's make-up job in upcoming Batman sequel "The Dark Knight" will look like.
Thus the big remaining question is that will the incident with Harvey Dent being scarred and becoming Two-Face be done in this film, or are they holding that plot point for a further sequel? Sounds like the former according to a scooper for film ick.
That site reports that scenes have been filmed with Aaron Eckhart in Two Face makeup and describes it as "scarring across the nose just a tad bit. One of his eye is deformed. And little bubbles across the scarring". They also re-iterate that Anthony Michael Hall 's role in the film is that of Edward Nygma (better known as 'The Riddler').
Never trust anything film ick says. Brandon, who writes articles there, will post anything sent to him without checking to make sure it's true or not. For all we know, at the time, some fanboy sent in that AMH was the Riddler and Brandon just ran with it.

BOF (Batman-on-film) pretty much confirms Riddler (or just Nygma and not his villain alter ego) is in the film, and when they say something is fact, take it as fact until drastic moves by Nolan or the studio are made. They also greatly hint at AMH being Nygma, but nothing on that is confirmed, but for sure Nygma is in the film.
