Because the real Cassandra Cain would never kill, especially not in such a callous, unfeeling manner. It runs counter to literally everything that her entire series established.

But does that make her Irredeemable? It can still be revealed that her dip in the Lazarus Pit unhinged her. Or they could simple show what happened during the missing year that changed her out look on life. Who knows.

At the end of the arc, when the fire had started, Robin was back down on the ground, and assassins that were guarding Cain's body all had broken necks and Cain was gone.

I think you're underreacting. Batgirl's one of the most interesting characters to come out of DC in the last ten years. Plus, interesting or not, you don't just undo years of character development in ten pages. Beechen should be kicked in the face repeatedly.
