ROBIN #159
Written by Adam Beechen
Art by Freddie E Williams II
Cover by Patrick Gleason & Wayne Faucher
He’s fought the Joker and Johnny Warlock, OMACs and King Snake. But can Robin survive the challenge of...a first date?
On sale February 21 • 32 pg, FC, $2.99 US

That. is. NOT. Zoanne. Goddamn it.

But maybe the cover is lying... damn it

Tim is FINALLY going to go out with that girl, and I noticed that the girl on the cover looks nothing like the girl who's had her eye on Tim...that is unless he chooses someone hotter. I know I would being Robin...and, of course, one of the wealthiest kids in the school. I'd be banging mad crazy ho's, yo.

lol funny description

Until Robin's solicit reads, "lol, just kidding, that wasn't the real Batgirl," the solicit and the comic and the character and the writer will suck.

Zoanne plants a kiss on Tim on the immediate first page, and then scolds him for not returning any of her messages. Tim trys to explain that neither him nor Bruce check the message machine. Zoanne doesnt buy this and walks off telling Tim never to talk to her again.

Tim then decides to visit Dodge (whose real name is Mike) and s still in his coma. He walks in and finds his parents and they both exchange greetings. Dodge's mother tells Tim not to blame himself for what happened, and she wonders why what happened to Dodge doesnt happen more often. They exit the room and Tim shares some quiet time with Dodge.

After leaving the hospital, Tim spots a teenager standing on the edge of a building. He sits right next to him and asks him what's going on. The kid asks him if he is going to try and stop him, and Tim says no and then tells him that even if he did stop him, he would probably go up and try again sometime later...

The two end up having a conversation about the jumper's life and what has made him come to the decision. The teenager says that his reasons sound stupid for jumping because he thinks that there are bigger problems out there and that he is weak. Robin responds by saying that his problems ARE worse because they are HIS, and that he feels sometimes the same way about himself.

The teenager asks him how he deals with his problems and Tim responds by saying that he is never alone and that he has people that he can talk to and that helps with his problems. Robin tells the teenager that he also has people that will listen to him, his parents, an old friend, or a counselor. He tells him that these people can give advice because they are not as close to the problems as he is, or they can just listen which is sometimes all that is needed.

Tim asks the jumper to try one of these options and the teenager agrees. Tim then asks him if he wants to get some breakfast.

Tim then ends up calling Dick and asks if he caught him at a bad time, and Dick tells him no and then they start to talk.

god they need to retitle this book "The amazing Robin" and make it like the early Spider-man stories.

Sounds like a good issue.

It was aactually really bad.

There was like 2 important panels, then the rest was an anti-killyourself mag.

I don't blame Robin for Cassandra's OOC and portrayal.

I blame Adam Beechen, Eddie Berganza, Peter Tomasi, and Dan Didio. Bastards, especially Beechen.

It wasn't that bad of an issue. Was pretty good in the beginning and then at the end it got a little weird with the kid killing himself. Wasn't horrible, but not outstanding or anything. Just further reminds you that Robin has been through a whole load of death recently.

Because we all know, if Beechen had a soul, he would've quit rather than do what his editors told him to do.

Why was the kid killing himself weird? It was all a set up for Robin analyzing his own pain and problems. Might've been a little cliche of a plot device, but it got the job done, at least.

My biggest problem with the issue was probably the art. It seemed a little more simplistic than previous issues. Maybe it was just me, but it seemed like it almost looked like one of those "young reader" books or something.

And now the ball has been dropped to Geoff Johns. . .

If he does it right (and I hope to god he does), then I'll forgive him for Infinite Crisis and related.

It was rather cliche, that's what was so weird about it. It could have been filled with something else, in my opinion. :o

No, he didn't kill himself. Robin took his out to breakfast.
