The Robin OYL Thread

No, he sucked, and hard. Pretty much anything Joey Q touches sucks by default.

His costumes pretty much all sucked, yes. But the character was all Denny O'Neil, and he was great.

Man, you do suck Darth. You should get that fixed.

I like the Ray, but im not going to take back what I said.:(

So back to the focus of this thread, Killa Nilla.

You know, no jokes a couple of things. I assume Killa Nilla is a Beechen creation? And, how the hell did he come up with such a great character.

Plus, Kid Boomerang became a villain to honor his father initially. I'd sure as hell hate the son of the guy who killed my father if he went and joined the same business that got my father killed, regardless of whether or not he'd eventually repented. There's always gonna be that lingering dislike there. Kind of like how Nightwing always hated Azrael, even after Azrael had reformed and proven himself to be a valuable ally to the Bat-family.

Why did Nightwing dislike Azrael? I mean, aside from the fact that he's a sucky character.

Azrael made me stop reading Batman

Everytime he seemed to make an appearance it was the same shtick

Azrael: OMG OMG I WENT CRAZY AGAIN! HELP ME JESUS, HELP ME JEWISH GOD, HELP ME TOM CRUISE!!! TOM CRUISE USE YER MAGIC POWERS!! BAAAATMMMAAAN!!!!!

Robin: :o

Nightwing::rolleyes:

Batman: :batman:

You obviously didn't read much with Azrael in it, then. There was this whole 100-issue series, the bulk of which contained Azrael's struggle to overcome the System and a lot of great character development.

Equal parts anger over what Azrael did to tarnish the mantle of Batman and jealousy that Azrael was chosen as Batman rather than Dick in the first place.

I know they tried to build his character up, but then people would yawn and theyd go "ok, hes crazy again". I always ended up reading when he was running around like that, so he never got any cool points from me.

I got acquainted with Azrael during No Man's Land, when he was struggling with the System on one hand and Leslie Thompkins' advocation of pacifism on the other. I liked that internal conflict between his wish to follow Leslie and stop fighting and his realization that he never could.

Well, either way it was a bad decision. We all saw what happened to Ms. Thompkins later on in the Batman series. That evil beotch.

Who says they haven't? Her involvement in Spoilers death wasn't mentioned during history of the DCU. It's possible that it was erased.

Id guarantee it was erased, maybe Spoiler altogether.....
