The Rothman Letters Thread

I don't want Apocalypse :( Go Sinister! Go Sentinels!

Hell yes. I demand Mr Sinister be in the next movie, his storyline can help bring back mutants who have been cured, killed, and can bring in a certain card weilding character that everyone seems to want. He is such a sick twisted character who can add so much to the franchise

What exactly is Sinister's power again?? Doesn't he shoot a beam from the red diamond on his forehead? Dunno how well that'd translate to screen.

Uh, no, that is not his power. Have you been on the magic mushrooms again?:hyper:

I would like a Sinister without the shapeshifting abilities, the energy beam ability and without the "healing factor". Just an enhanced strenght by his genetic experiments would be alright.

Mister Sinister (Nathaniel Essex) is a Marvel Comics supervillain, a foe of the X-Men and related teams. Created by writer Chris Claremont and artist Marc Silvestri, he first appeared in Uncanny X-Men #221 (September 1987).

Sinister is perhaps the greatest geneticist in the Marvel Universe. He is capable of cloning, creating superhuman abilities and enhancing or controlling mutant abilities. His existence is unknown to the general public and he does his research in secret laboratories across the globe. He has employed the henchmen groups the Marauders and Nasty Boys.

Born in 19th century London, Sinister was one of the most brilliant scientists of his day. He entered a pact with the centuries-old mutant Apocalypse, who granted him immortality, among other powers.

However, Sinister has no allegiance to Apocalypse and, studying the bloodlines of the X-Men Scott Summers and Jean Grey, determined that their child would be a mutant powerful enough to destroy Apocalypse. When Grey was thought dead, Sinister created the clone Madelyne Pryor to bear the child who would become Cable. Sinister also has a connection to the X-Man Gambit.

Sinister was a frequent villain in the 1990s-era X-Men animated series.

You can't have Mr. Sinister without Apocalypse. Which is why I think it'd be best to include both of them in a future sequel or a restart.

Nor without the Summers & Grey.

Oh, wait, Fox would probably have writers say that Sinister has been studying the bloodlines of Logan and Storm... :whatever:

Sad, but true. :csad:

Hence why it would be in the best interest of Marvel if they bought the rights back from Fox. I know it's easier said than done, but with the potential storylines that can be brought to life Fox will never do it justice and will find a way to screw it up.

With that said, I don't care if it takes 5-10 years, Marvel needs to fight Fox, fans need to write letters and speak their minds until a change is made. I know the overall reception to X3 is mixed, but I truly feel a lot more people either dislike it or don't care either way.

Why can't we really tell Rothman how we feel? Don't you think that he needs to realize that not everyone like this film? Just because a lot of comic book fans like it and accept it, doesn't mean we should sugarcoat our words for him.

Some please explain to me why people think that Sinister is the end all of all cures for the crappy writing.

Sinister is the *last* thing these movies need. The biggest problem is that the X-men aren't featured in any of them. There is not a single movie where the entire group was effected by a problem personally or professionally.

Sinster is a Grey-Summers problem. This is compounding on that problem. People who feel that Jean and or Scott were slighted in the films want yet another problem solely focused on them, as if Wolverine wasn't already enough. Sinister is just going to bring on Maddie and Cable, more problems that actually exclude the rest of the X-men. More excuses for cardboard activity from the rest.

If people want to see dead characters again the best way to do it, and actually include the rest of the cast on a more equal level, would be Days of Future Past or Age(s) of Apocalypse. I would prefer the later.

Its just said that X4 has to be reduced to retconning everything that was wrong with all three films.

Oh, I don't actually want Sinister. Hell, he'd probably come across as little more than a mad scientist/backstabbing coward anyway.

Was just pointing out how stupid it would be to bring him in the fold without Scott and Jean.

Besides, I'm a Jott sceptic. Give me Hellfire, Emma and Cyke as a "resurrected pawn any day. :D

I rather them have Gambit as the main character, and they can throw in Emma Frost too.

Keep Storm, Beast, Iceman, Rogue (cure didn't last), Kitty, Colossus, and bring in Jubilee to the main team.
