I'm not expecting much. Kinberg... But have voted for 81-85% - hope never dies :D

I'm thinking high 70s, 76-80. Wouldn't surprise me if it goes down to 60s.

-It has too many characters and although they don't have plots or subplots, critics might still have issues with it. They might also have issues with them just being extras or glorified cameos.

-Wolverine could be an issue for them, if he has too much screen time where they feel like it could have be used to explore more Xavier, Magneto, Mystique or others.

-If they don't give enough time and exploration to Trask and sentinels.

-Time travel-if they don't keep it simple. It tends to be headache inducing.

All these could be something to worry about for critics and everyone else really.

81%-85% because it's really hard for movies (especially action movies) to get above 85% but if this is as good as it looks...who knows?

I think if Singer really nails the 'Charles choosing the chair' arc which is the emotional foundation of the whole film, then I think it could a really high score on RT. There's still a lot about Mystique and Erik we don't know about, and if these deaths and whatnot in the future are as emotional as they can be and not all for fluff, then I can really see this movie being just as impacting as other really good superhero films like Iron Man and The Dark Knight. I really enjoyed TWS but didn't think it was as good as everyone made it out to be. (Though I was probably overhyped because everyone said it was so good, but ended up feeling like an Avengers 2 checklist)

I'm kinda hoping the movie ends up like Terminator 2 though in terms of time-travel movies. But anything above an 80% I would consider a success. This movie is incredibly ambitious.

My prediction is high 50's to 60. Hopefully it will be a better film than that, but US critics aren't the most generous with superhero films at the moment.

Captain America the winter soldier got a 89 at RT. Last year Iron man 3 got a 78 and the wolverine a 69.Just because they didn't like man of steel and Amazing SPider-man 2 does't mean they hate comic book films.

I know, but there is a trend of the RT score going down when it releases in America compared to Europe. American critics don't hate superhero films, but they seem to be harsher on them than other critics. Also, I have a felling that this isn't going to be the best X-Men film.

This

I believe Kinberg was a writer on First Class which got 87%
He wasnt one of the main writers. 6 people are credited over him.

Every X-Men film Singer has been involved with has scored in the 80s. I think it will land somewhere in between 80-90%. Based on everything we've seen/heard about this movie, I'd be surprised if it fell below that range.

Simon Kinberg did last round of work on FC script.

Alex kurtzman and bob Orci wrote Star Trek and star trek into darkness which got 95 and 88 on RT and they aren't exactly beloved eather.

I can imagine the timeline continuity confusion between this and the other films causing some critic complaints although as soon as Wolverine goes back in time nothing is the same again at all, so continuity issues technically no longer exist.

I want it high but think it'll be low. Critics are harsh on that site.

Prediction: It will be the best reviewed X-Men movie yet. The last 2 trailers were just special. 90% RT.

Not really a writer but a script doctor.

Those two are a mix bag when it comes to their projects. But still, they have a better track record than Simon Kinberg.

Early tweets are very positive.

Could this become the highest rated X-men movie on RT.

Not to be a negative Nancy, but the professional TOP critics like NY times etc will be much harder on this than fanboys and geek-friendly blogs.
Im sure if most of us got a free ticket to see the film early, our reviews would be biased.
We shall see...
