Reviews are rolling in. 86% positive so far

and so it begins.

Glossing over the reviews I saw a couple mentioned that this movie was the best in the series.

That reminds me of how Cap 2 was considered the best MCU movie by a couple early reviews.

I'm not saying it will get an 89% like Cap 2 but something in the 80's is definitely possible.

Cap 2 has like 206 positive and 25 negative reviews.

What may hurt DOFP is maybe not as many people review it as they do Winter Soldier.

DOFP is one of the biggest movies of the summer. (arguably bigger than Cap 2) everyone and their momma will have a review lol.

That many is very common, it will just take a little while for them to completely pile in. that number actually lower than what I usually see in fact. Though I'm not on RT all the time lol.

Because barely anyone hated it enough to give it a rotten even if it was mixed. Pretty much everyone enjoyed the film but that doesn't mean every critic and audience member gave it 5 stars or 10/10. It's average rating is 7.5. If you gave it a 7 that would count as a positive. Ya know?

But even if you didn't like it much, the overall consensus between audiences and critics has been pretty unanimous on that it's a good movie, so I don't see why that would be a surprise it's rated high on RT. It's like that everywhere. Look at the poll in the Cap thread. Only two people gave it below a 7. You don't see that alot.

Cap hovered there the whole time and was even a point higher at times. Once DOFP hits a decent number of reviews it shouldn't jump back and forth drastically unless the film is extremely mixed on terrible and good reviews. Which I don't think it will be. DOFP will have plenty of reviews regardless.

People should not care that much about what RT says, it is extremely flawed, they have mediocre movies with a similar score to some Oscar winners:

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith: 80%
Captain America: The First Avenger: 79%
Iron Man 3: 78%
Thor: 77%
Fast Five: 77%
Superman Returns: 75%

Oscar winning films:
Braveheart: 78%
Gladiator: 76%
A Beautiful Mind: 76%



They should fix how they rate movies to be more believable and fair.

Most people like alot of those. Criitcs and audiences don't compare Fast Five to Beautiful Mind. Nor do they expect an intelligent story with the former. Those are rated on their own terms of entertainment.

One is striving for an Oscar, performances, Story and Drama and the other for Popcorn and thrills. Both are entertaining on their own levels, but need to satisfy in different ways. Which there is nothing wrong with.

For the most part, superhero movies with over an 80% are good and movies under a 50% are bad.

So while the mid-range scores can be divisive the rating system itself is far from worthless.

Exactly, It was at 9.0 before anybody even saw the film. People who call Rotten Tomatoes flawed...which it might me. IMDB is even more flawed cause you have numerous trolls who give films 1 out of 10 for kicks and giggles. For example, I gave it a 10/10 and I have not even seen it yet. lol.

I'm staying away from forums and boards but I do keep track of the reviews.

I think that the movie will get a solid score, but a lot of the positive reviews will be around 3/5, and many critics will have issues with the massive cast and busy plot. Especially the critics who feel casual about the franchise overall and are not necessarily huge fans. Some of the more enthusiastic reviews I've seen definitely read like they were written by big X-fans.

Now I'm off again before I get an urge to check out the spoilers thread!
