If the Hollywood report and variety could give raves what makes you think other critics won't like it.

That's a lot harder for me to say. X2 is one of my all time favorite films. But I know most people think FC is better than X2...

For me, I'll just have to see DoFP 100 more times to decide, which wont be hard. :p

There are many who consider X2 the best X-Men films.

Reviewers are calling DOFP best X_Men film or best film since X2.

Actually thats not true, X2 is still considered the best X-Movie, the 'best X-Men movie' poll when The Wolverine came was won by X2. I loved FC personally, but X2 is still the daddy of these movies, until I see DOFP a few times at least.

If star trek into darkness with it's heavy critism of riping off The wrath of Khan can get to 87 on RT surely DOFP can get around that.

Much better film then Into Darkness as well. And I loved Into Darkness.

Well, the thing I am afraid is reviews will always drop, right now it's at 94%. I would be more comfortable if it's 100% instead.

However, since that only negative review complained about too many characters, it's more of a CLUELESS review than a very constructive review. Hopefully more critics have a better clue..

If more reviews come out complain of too much characters, or too short running time I wonder will movie makers like Bryan Singer consider making future movies 3 hours long?

I do think that's a problem with movie like this. 130 seems TOO short!

At first I thought FC was better but after I had time to reflect the clear winner was X2.

I was sore about Superman Returns so I gave FC a handicap but it doesn't stand up to repeat viewings like X2.

Yeah I used to think FC was better than x2 but i realized I loved x2 more because I enjoy watching it more

Personally, I've never really liked FC that much because I grew up watching the OT cast and am so used to them being the X-Men. I remember being so excited as a kid for X2 and X3, and now for this, but didn't even know FC came out when it did

So RT seems to have stopped adding reviews now, why has it slowed to a halt?

Perhaps many critics saw a screening of "Blended", and either killed themselves or took a month-long sick leave.

If you check the ratings of the top critics of RT, X2 clearly has a higher score. So I think its more critically acclaimed.

X2 is definitely the most consistent but I am not head-over-heels in love with it.

I watched it again the other night and a few very small negative things stood out to me.

For instance, Wolverine goes into Cerebro at the beginning and Xavier explains that if he concentrates too hard on finding Nightcrawler he will kill him. Then, around the campfire, Wolverine has no clue why everyone's concerned about Xavier being kidnapped to operate the second Cerebro and the others have to explain that if the Professor concentrates hard enough, he could kill all the mutants. Well, duh.

I thought the Jean vs Cyclops battle in the dam was too short and didn't build enough tension, and I am not sure of the part where Jean turns around to stop the wave of water at the very last moment - it just seems like she wouldn't have chance to do it in time!

Just those few little oddities stop it being flawless. Yep, I know I'm nitpicking but isn't that we all do around here!? :oldrazz:

What was the highest Cap had?

It was hovering around 93/94% earlier on. Then stayed at 92% until the US critics came in. This won't have the same trend as the release dates for the movie are similar around the world (I think).

So RT seems to have stopped adding reviews now, why has it slowed to a halt?

Most critics publish their reviews closer to the actual release date. So there was a rush of reviews when the embargo was lifted for those who wanted to say "first!" And next week the real wave of reviews will come in from movie sites and US newspapers.

Yeah I thought it might be something like that. Will change a lot by the end of next week then. Hopefully the drop is not too harsh.

Also, different critics have different embargoes. Some are embargoed 'til the 22nd...

I wouldn't be surprised if we don't start getting more reviews until Monday.

Grace randolph did say her review was embargoed till the 23rd.

She said something about having an agreement with fox or something.

You don't want every review published a week before release. Reviews are still a means of promo.

Yep. Newspapers have their weekend sections, and they'll want to publish their reviews for whatever is new in theaters then.
