Yeah. Shock and rage wearing off. I just want it to come out, so this rollercoaster of rising to the height of anticipation and excitement, and then running into a wall of rage and despair will end.

It's too exhausting.

I should be a neutral party, and just brace for the worst.

. . . le sigh . . . .

Hmmmm... I'll tell him to make it SHORTER and to make Deadpool completely different from in the comics.

I hope Hood & Jackman demand that their version is shown.

Why would Rothman want a short movie after the gigantic success of TDK which was well over two hours. He must have mental problem.

"Duuuh, my job is on the line & this movie is the depending factor. Me are make it one minute long even though stupid WB's dumb movie "The Dark F*g" was 100 hours long & make a hundred Mcbillion dollars"

Seriously? He's a whack job. I will not pay to see this movie in any way, if it's 90 minutes. There's no way in hell it'll be good at a 90 min running time.

Well, there is the possibility that the movie is bad and in order to recoup their investment is to have it as short as possible in order to get as much money possible before other tentpole films hit theaters.

Who is Rothman to judge quality? He greenlighted TWO AvP films, the F4 series, X3 and countless other underwhelming films.

I do get what you're saying though with Star Trek and Terminator Salvation being released in the two consectutive weeks after Wolverine.

Perhaps he wants to prove that shorter runtimes = more viewership is a better strategy...despite the fact that it ISN'T.

Quality movies = more viewship.

I mean X3 BARELY made a domestic profit compared to its budget.

Hype needs to throw some kind of party for all us fanboys once this Rothman character is ousted... Rothman Fired Anniversary... it could be some annual Holiday here at the Hype.

Man, the whole forum will be happy. Everyone here has a film that they think Rothman ruined.

Rothman will only get fired if Wolverine isnt a success. So I advise everyone to buy tickets to a different non Fox movie and then sneak into wolverine. Same goes to you DB fans.

Wait, if Wolverine has a decent time length & is a good movie. I'll pay, I want a Deadpool spin-off. If not, I'll see it bootleg on the internet.

THE NERVE!!! :oldrazz:

Funny story - the last time I saw him on Broadway my friends and I saw him signing autographs after the show. We were across the street, and saw a group of guys that clearly had not been at the show standing up on scaffolding and yell "WOLVERINE!!!!!" as loud as they could. He waved at them with one hand while signing an autograph with the other, and waved at them again when his car was leaving.

My friend's friend's brother (say that 5 times fast) worked with Hugh on the Tonys - said he's one of the nicest people he's ever worked with.

Ah for God's sake... propose to the guy... maybe he'll agree being such a nice guy and all. Give it a rest. I am not denying he isn't a class guy. But in Hollywood it is not such a bad thing to be a hard ass sometimes. If he is happy with the quality of an 90-100 minute film littered with cameos and cut up by a studio then more power to him. I am sure his views on the film... whatever the final cut happens to be... will be vastly different if this thing flops. All I said was that he should have stood up to this studio like Norton did... and fought for a longer more character driven product. 90 minutes ain't gonna cut it... simple as that.

alright, this post is just....:o

I had a good laugh reading the line "Another butchered Fox movie...Just like the first X-Men."

:whatever:

Oops! Yikes! Sorry that was a complete type o! ! meant to say the THIRD X-men. X-Men The Last Stand. That's what I get for typing too quickly and with rage! So to clarify, I meant to say X-men part 3. Not part 1. I LOVED part 1. Eveh though part 1 was also short shifted with forced cuts and a lack of budget, Bryan Singer made it work! We can only hope, HOPE Gavin Hood pulled off the same, but Fox has become more militant over the years, so I'm not too sure what he could pull off. If this film ends up being as short as X-Men 3, then it will surely suck I think.

They sort of butchered X1 too. The length was too short for me. It was decent & it could of been good if it was longer. I just really, really wish someone on this film decides to make it longer. Why does Rothman get to decide how long a movie is anyway? He should just approve the movies, not be involved in them.

So I see this thread has gone insane. :woot:

examples:

"Hugh Jackman is the ass kisser of ass kissers."

"The only way to host The Academy Awards is to kiss serious ass."

"Hugh Jackman's niceness is simply disgusting."

"There are TWO versions of X-Men Origins: Wolverine - The studio's and the version Jackman and Gavin Hood should DEMAND be released."

"Hugh Jackman should basically punch Tom Rothman in the face because Gale Anne Hurd announced the film will run a DEFINITE 60 - 90 minutes which is the scientific definition of "Well under 2 hours"."

"NO movie under 2 hours CAN EVER be any good."

"X3 made $0.00 dollars."

"X1 was butchered by the studio because it didn't meet the INTERNATIONAL running time standard of 240 minutes."

"Tom Rothman is in reality the Sith Lord Darth Sidious."

Can't wait til this thread regains its sanity :cwink:

Good news!

even though I still would have preferred a 2 hour, 45 minute movie :cwink:

as for Storm still making the cut - as long as they don't mess with Team X's mission to Africa, I'm indifferent about it.

*I still believe its possible for this film to work under 2 hours, just means it won't thoroughly cover the origin is all.

after reading Drew's article, he's right; what can we do? It seems like Fox as a studio doesn't really 'get it'.

if this movie proves to be good despite its under 2 hours running time, that statement will become obsolete.

yes, FOX has dropped the ball a number of times. Ok fine, MANY times.

But this is a whole other animal, the guided efforts of Hugh Jackman and Gavin Hood.

Vin Diesel movies and Fantastic 4 sequels are in my opinion destined for failure from the start :cwink:

“Oh it’s way under two hours…….” Those words still keep echoing in my head. All I can think about is that it’s X3 all over again. I fear now for Gambit :csad:

Isn’t there a way to force them to change their minds? The Justice League movie got postponed due to the fans negativity. Can’t all the Wolvie fans do the same thing? Especially since Iron man and DK have proved a superhero movie over 2 hours can still be awesome and earn more money than X3.

I swear, I think Gambit will be in the movie for 10 minutes max. Knowing Fox..

I think Gambit replaced someone in the old script, and that character did not do much. Gave Wolverine info. I will say 15 min for Gambit tops. But hes signed on for three flicks. He will be back.

This means Gavin saying Gambit will get two awesome action scenes means one or none :csad: I think it's time to let loose all Gambit fangirls on FOX. They're much scarier than fanboys :p

Yeah, I don't want this movie to fail.
thats the problem. you dont want this movie to fail but you dont want a bad movie.
newsflash. if everyone thinks like that then in 2 years we will again complain. if you watch the movie because you dont want it to fail then you support Rothamn.

ok this post bothers me because what you are doing is alienating wolverine fans over a ridiculous crusade against a studio exec that as of now hasn't given us ANY indication that this movie will be bad.

we've gotten TWO excellent trailers, the possibility of a 5 day weekend opening and the notion that the film will be dark since it seems to have a content-based influence from TDK's PG-13 pushing material.

to watch this movie is to support Wolverine, for whatever reason you may feel like watching it.

*the only reason you are complaining now is that you have too much time on your hands and assumptions/negative speculation seems to entertain you quite well :cwink:

you understand the proces of filmaking?

you can have the best footage, best acting in the footage but if you f.... up the editing you f... up the movie. editing is very imporant. there is nooooooo way that they filmed this movie with a 1:30 or 1:45 runing time in mind. noooooo way. you can destroy a good movie with the editing.
