You need to stop pulling facts from your ass... find me a quote from Jackman and maybe I'll give you some credence. Right now you are telling us the same stuff you heard three years ago.
call me crazy but he is from FOX. there is no way that he means what he writtes.
did he really mention a 20 year old movie?

She did say they are still in the editing process.

Film's length could still be bumped up.

Hannah Montana's release date has been moved back to early April, I believe.

But yes, I agree it's about making as much money as possible before the next summer tentpole release. Fox is no shape to have another flop. Between Wolverine and Night at the Museum 2, they need to make a ton of money this year to make up for 2008.

Is Night at the Museum 2 really with Fox?

My gf wants to see it since she liked the first one...that means I'm going to have to give money to Fox...or she will, either way they are getting my/our money. :csad::cmad:

that right there shows you can't maturely have a discussion :cwink:

*I watch EVERY interview Jackman does for ANY movie he's involved with.

The MAD MAX thing is one of his oldest and most re-ocurring themes.

during this production, he really took it far starting with the choice for Australia as a location in favor of Vancouver.

"I know for a fact" is what you said... find me the quote where Jackman alluded to Mad Max... that is all I ask... :cwink:

I think the main reason he wanted to film in Australia was because he lives there.

give me a sec man, i got a good one for ya :yay:

Yeah this thread really died down... not a big deal if you can't find a quote. You want to support the film support the film. But don't be suprised if you become a hater sooner than later...

Can anyone name a short Big Budget movie that they like? That scares me...I can't think of one.
I was gonna say Kill Bill: Vol. 1, but the budget was only 55 million.

obviously this is not gonna be Oscar material, but it can be this generation's MAD MAX with a 90 -100 minute run time

I'd prefer The Road or Doomsday to be that. :cwink:

It doesn't matter who the director is (i.e. Ridley Scott and Kingdom of Heaven) or the writer/producer, etc. when it comes to Fox. They will micromanage anyone, maybe the only one immune is James Cameron (we'll see).
Rothman did say no to Cameron when he wrote a treatment for Alien 5.

what you dont understand is that FOX doesnt edit the movie but chops them down. watch AD babyylon. when you watch the movie you always know that there is something missing. why? because FOX took over the directors mvoie. and they edited parts that were important for the movie. why? because they had to shorten the movie down.
Fox actually took over when they were filming. So there's actually A LOT of stuff that Kassovitz never go to film at all.

p.s. stop acting like Jackman has so much power that he will edit the movie himself. who the f.. is he? just because you saw on IMDB under producer hes name that doesnt mean that he will save this movie. They made f...Ridley Scott edit hes movie down. logic guys...logic
I've understood from various interviews that Jackman and Rothman are actually "pals" (aka both are on their good side, or how do say it?). Or, you know, Jackman is an ass kisser. Dunno.

If Jackman and Rothman are buddies then this does not surprise me.

Jackman is probably the biggest Hollywood ass kisser out there. Who knows how many strings he had to pull not only for sexiest man alive... but hosting the freaking Oscars? When was the last time... or anytime, a tentpole actor like that hosted the Oscars. Look Jackman is a great performer and actor... I won't take that away from him. But he isn't making the film here. Frankly, he should have done what Norton did. Not tolerate this ridiculous editing and slicing. He as well as Hood should have stood up to this studio for a change. But there is probably good reason why Fox hired Hood and Jackman is, well... Jackman...

Because he hosted the Tony Awards 3 times and won an Emmy for it? I've seen him on stage, he's an amazing performer, and I think he'll be great at the Oscars. That has nothing to do with ass-kissing. He's not just Wolverine, you know. :whatever:

"Wayyyy under 2 hours."???

Ugh...so much for it being a character driven film.

I could be proven wrong of course but c'mon, this is FOX.

Amen - I think people who don't know what he's capable of and think of him as just another "wooden actor" are going to be surprised. He got his start in theater and is totally comfortable and charismatic on stage. He just hosted yesterday a memorial tribute to Gerald Schoenfeld, the Broadway theater owner and producer, who died in November. Theater royalty was there (Angela Landsbury, Vanessa Redgrave, etc.) and he was in charge of this two-hour tribute. He's an all-around performer, not just a one-note tentpole actor.

Agreed! I read that he performed at the Schoenfeld tribute yesterday. The song he performed at the tribute was the song he got standing ovations for every night when he was on Broadway. I've been going to B'way shows since 1980 and he was the first person I ever saw get a standing ovation during the show.

Hollywood ***-kissers don't take a year off to sing and dance on Broadway like Hugh did a few years ago (and hopefully will again soon). They just don't.

Who the hell does Jackman think he is trying to branch out and do other things! :cmad:

HE IS WOLVERINE AND NOTHING ELSE!!!

THE NERVE!!! :oldrazz:

Funny story - the last time I saw him on Broadway my friends and I saw him signing autographs after the show. We were across the street, and saw a group of guys that clearly had not been at the show standing up on scaffolding and yell "WOLVERINE!!!!!" as loud as they could. He waved at them with one hand while signing an autograph with the other, and waved at them again when his car was leaving.

My friend's friend's brother (say that 5 times fast) worked with Hugh on the Tonys - said he's one of the nicest people he's ever worked with.

I'll be really disappointed if it isn't longer than X3 or as long as X3. That's a reason why I didn't like X-Men that much, it was too short to be anything special.

Donner saying it's "........well under 2 hours" doesn't surprise me. Did we expect anything less from those hacks at Fox? :cmad:

Ah, so this thread has died down a bit. Well, I hope that somehow this movie will turn out good even though it may be short. I kind of doubt it but I guess we will see. It would be nice if the continued editing that they will think about expanding certain aspects of the story. But, if history is any indication, that won't happen.

But yeah...*sighs*

Well maybe I can lighten the mood here. I just finished watching Hulk vs Wolverine... and all I can say is... **** the Wolverine movie... seriously... WOW. That 35 minutes will be MORE than enough to get me by... and I got some extra suprises I was expecting... suprises NOT in this film. If you haven't seen that film already... or are looking for a substitute for this film... go see Hulk vs Wolverine right now... no joke. Probably not much shorter than what this movie will turn out to be... :woot:

I'm going to send a message to Tim Rothman. Going to tell him not to **** up this movie. I'm going to tell him to make it longer. Going to tell him to make Deadpool wear the costume at the end. Going to tell him to stay the **** away from the movie after that.

You do that and in spite, he'll make it even shorter, and turn Deadpool into a cloud.
