The Runaways Thread

Sorry if there is already a thread for Runaways but I did a search and didn't find anything.

I've got to say that this has to be one of the best things Marvel are currently releasing. The artwork and dialogue in issue 18 during a certain characters death was amazing.

The character of Victor has really grown on me and while Molly was mainly just annoying during season one she has become quite an enjoyable character to read now.

I'm not a fan of Karolina though, shes always striked me as quite a dull character. Plus her boyfriend/girlfriend/thing Xavin seems like a bit of a weak character aswell. Although his relationship with Victor is quite interesting.

The most interesting character for me has to be Nico. She seems to be carrying around a lot of guilt and I can't wait to see why this is.

Any other Runaways fans around?

I got into Runaways when vol.2 started, and was hooked. Then after the first arc I was kinda bored with the title. Then I read the last arc and was completely blown away.

Runaways is definately cool and so is that Runaways/Young Avengers mini.

Yeah but she didn't start coming out with great lines like that till season two. Hence why I like her now.

And yes I did read volume one. Although I am much more a fan of season two.

So yeah anyone have a clue what Nico's dark secret is? She always seems to guilty for doing something!

Also Nico and Victor are going to hook up. He's too easily led and shes too much of a skank for it not to happen.

Runaways is awesome. The only problems I had with the series was Gert (who was thankfully taken out of the picture in my own opinion), and Molly for the most part. I know people liked Molly, but Molly just felt...stereotypical. "Let's give the youngest the MOST power, and make her grown up some mature wise, but still just naive enough to not get the bigger picture of things." Reminds me of so much anime that I grew to hate for the same thing. Gert was the obvious one for me to hate though. She was the ONLY one in the group who claimed to be smart, yet was the ONLY one to not solve a problem with her brain. Even Chase had a good idea from time to time. Gert was the only one who wasn't. She always reminds me of the phrase "arrested development". Not in the literal term. Just that she thought she was so smart, but never progressed, and never applied, and really wasn't all that smart to begin with really. Just...mediocre.

Victor is awesome, I mean, he's Ultron's son.

Chase is cool. Wish they'd bring back the fistigons.

Old Lace is cool. She's a dinosaur.

Alex was cool, but he's unfortunately gone.

Nico's cool. I love magic characters.

Karolina is absolutely gorgeous to look at, and quite interesting since her powers are undefined for the time being.

And Xavin? Do I LIKE Xavin? Not really yet. But I DO like the fact they finally have a "good" Skrull amongst the human ranks.

I still find her annoying. I was really hoping she'd be the one to die. In retrospect, Gert was the better choice since she hasn't done much of anything in a long time, but still... sometimes I daydream about how nice it would've been to see Molly bite it.

In all seriousness I think Molly has become a much more likeable character in season two. I found it genuinly touching at the end of issue #13 where she fell asleep and dreamed about her parents.

Well yeah the fact you hate children in real life may have something to do with why you hate the fictional child in Runaways.

I hope Victor Mancha become's a major charchter more because he's right now a favorite of mine.
