I never go to the same place. I wouldnt want to have to wait to leave the same time as everyone else, or not be able to drive to lunch...it would be like elementary schoo. And there isnt any hybrid that looks as nice or is as fast as any car I drive now.

And no, I dont want future generations to have clear air and water

so you're saying you're just too selfish and spoiled to care. nice stance. whatever happened to people sacrificing during war times like in ww2? now we've got jackasses like the "admiral" here whining about how attempting to conserve fuel is too hard. man, that's just really pathetic. why the hell aren't idiots like you sent to iraq instead of some of the genuinely good people that have fought and died there?

15 steps to save energy by Man-Thing.
In no particular order.

1. Walk, Bike or use the bus/subway
2. Get a front end alignment.
3. Check the air in your tires weekly.
4. Change spark plugs (or any other scheduled maintinence.
5. Change the air filter (both in your car and your home AC)
6. Drive 5mph below speed limit, and no hard accelelerating.
7. Roll down your windows in your car instead of AC.
8. Don't make unnecessary stops on long trips.(Make sure everyone goes to the bathroom before you leave.)
9. Listen to traffic reports before you leave and plan your best route.
10. Bump up your thermostat in your home.
11. Buy a motorcycle (I put this in there because motorcycles can usually be purchased fairly cheap if they are used, and they get great miliage.
12. LOOK at the gas prices before you pump.
13. Lower your octane, most people run higher octane and don't need to. If your car's compression ration is 9.5:1 or lower, you can run on 87 easily.
14. DO NOT TRADE YOUR VEHICLE! Especially if the one you have is or almost paid for.
15. Carpool

I agree, but this is the "saving energy thread".

I agree it would save energy, but so would not using my computer or heating my place.
