The Shield

The premiere was kind of hum-drum, in my opinion. I'm not saying it was bad, but it certainly didn't pack the punch of previous premieres (the pilot of course, will always take the cake, but others, like the one where Armadillo dumps gasoline all over that dude and burns him alive was another one). Glenn Close did good for what they gave her, but I don't find her character particularly interesting as of yet. Anthony Anderson did well... his character was a real creep and I'm intrigued to see what will happen with him. One problem I had though, was they didn't recap anything from last season at the beginning of the show, and this episode relied so heavily on remembering stuff from last year that I was a little lost at times.

yeah, I wondered where the recap was, too. I asked my dad to watch this with me, I ended up having to explain to him while the show was going whta the back history was

I thought it was a really good episode. Agreed, not as good as the premiere of Seasons 1 or 2, but definitely better than the Season 3 premiere. But even if you weren't blown away, trust me - the next episode is much better.

I'll hold you to that ! :D

I'll bet my house on you being blown away by next week's episode. Okay, not really. But I think you'll like it.

Hey guys! i was looking through some of my files, and I stumbled across a fanfic for "The Shield" I wrote last year. It's set around midway through Season 3, so it's a bit out of date, but would any of you be interested in reading it? It's about a child being murdered, and Vic and Dutch racing to find the killer, coming into conflict with each other in the process. Its about 9 chapters long, so I won't post it up unless I know there are people interested in reading and commenting on it.

I finally got to see the season premire and I thought it was good. I think Glenn Close is really going to add to the show. Can't wait for the rest of this season. The Shield has to be one of the best shows on TV!

I was wondering about a recap too, but if you think about all the **** that went down last season, and how much last season sprung from season 2, you'd have to get into all of that and that's a loooong recap.

everyone notice the uncensored repeated use of the word s***?

That mouthful of dick comment was funny as hell.
I thought the part where they put the gun in the dogs paw was really funny...I also liked that the new captain thought it was funny

Yeah, it kind of surprised me in the first season, but I've gotten used to it.

Great episode, and the clips for next week look awesome, now onto Jon Stewart.

Ok was the lady playing
Gilmore's widow
Pamala Segal(Peg Bundy)?

Any respect I had for Aceveda, is now gone.

Getting mouth-raped has really screwed that man up. Anyone else thinking Shane will evenetually bite off more than he can chew?

I understand he's screwed up, but there are other ways to deal with that, at the rate he's at he might end up raping some girl and getting brought in by Mackie (which I wouldn't mind seeing). And I agree that Shane is getting himself into some trouble, when Mackie shakes his head in disappointment at someone you know they're in for trouble.

lol

come on, dude, he got violated, it didn't exactly leave him a stable person

did you lose all respect for Dutch when he killed the cat?

Yes, Gilroy's wife was Katey Sagal. I have to admit, I loved seasons 1 & 2 of the Shield. I missed season 3 completely due tp personal reasons, but am most happy to be watching it again....and enjoying it!!!
I apologize if this has been mentioned here before, but this is something that I just can't figure out. For a gritty, realistic police drama, why do all the uniformed officers wear their badges on the wrong side of their uniforms?? A police badge is always worn over your heart.

mmm, I forget the reason, but I do think I rmemeber it being explained somewhere in the special features of one of the box sets
