Loved her and Negasonic in the movie, but wish they were both in it more. Actually, my biggest gripe is they introduce a terrific and overdue dynamic between her and NTW being [blackout]lesbian lovers[/blackout] but never do anything with it. I'm glad they avoided Deadpool making any crass jokes about it, but something about it incorporating into the humor and Deadpool's newfound obsession with family would've been nice. Plus, [blackout]I wish they were there for the whole third act instead of only the very tail end of it.[/blackout]

I think a big deal for them was to introduce a gay couple and not make a big deal out of it. Like seriously, the big deal is how un-big deal it is in the movie. Here is Negasonic's girlfriend. Wade likes her, which of course annoys Negasonic. The fact it isn't a major point of angst or grandstanding, nor a source of jokes or objectification on the part of Wade and the filmmakers, is why she is there.

With that said, she and Negasonic should have had more to do. Would have loved for them to have even just been at the orphanage fight from the go, heading off with Wade while Colossus stayed behind... for a bit.

Maybe Yukio is a nickname.

I do think she is Surge.

She's confirmed to be Yukio. Why? God knows. This character adaptation is as arbitrary and pointless as any other X-Men film. Bring on the reboot.
