Spider-Man 2 The Spider-Man 2.1 DVD Thread

They support it because it's funny! :o
Granted, I havn't seen how that scene plays out but after watching that clip, it looked hilarious. Yank that stick out for a minute and maybe, you'll get the joke.
It looks absolutely DUMB, and the movie suffers for moments like that enough!!!:o

has the bank scene beene extended

i'm not a fan of the extra footage for the train fight....

the whole spidey getting hit by a train doesn't settle well with me...

as for jjj in the suit of a character he despises, doesn't sit right with me either, i'm glad they left it out.
the Bank scene has been extended and it's awesome!!!. how is the train scene not cool? it's simply amazing and it's even better with new footage. the JJJ spidey suit scene is funny to IMO.

He's got a point, if you really hate someone, you aren't going to go around and wear their clothes during the day at work...

the seriousness of jameson is being highly overlooked and he is becoming comic relief which isn't really that good for the character...

now if it was ulrich instead of jameson, that would have been different.
I may be waaay out of left field here! But wasn't there something in the comics about WHY exactly Jameson hates spider-man??? wasn't it because Jameson's wife had died (yes I know she's alive in the movie's), and Jameson thinks -where the hell was a HERO when I needed one to save my wife!?!?-

and there went some respect for raimi. the JJ scene in the suit is just scary. what kind of director would even film this?

Wow. That scene alone is reason enough for me to buy it. :woot:
but you already saw that scene on the net. and you would buy it onlyfor that?

why even buy the extended dvd since everything will be o the net?

jjj's wife was killed by a masked vigilante and hence his hatred of people who hide behind masks...

why this is central to just spidey and not other masked heroes is beyond me but thats the way it goes...

i also hear that his hatred is secretly something more of a jealousy based result of having someone he originally despises having a large-esque fanbase.

anyway, someone with this thought process would never wear the costume of their focal point of hatred.

if anything, it really does emphasise that jonah has no real beef with spidey but only wishes to use him to sell papers by promoting hate (which always sells) so that is all he is doing.

i have only seen the extended train fight.

In a fight, or as close to a real fight as possible, everything must flow for a reason and there is no point extending the fight unnecessarily.

now here is my point, if spidey is so worried about hitting the walls and train in earlier scenes, why does hitting a train at 'twice' that force then become ok, and not only cause no wreckage but leaves spidey unphased.

he's not superman. I am supposed to believe he can get hit by the force of two speeding trains and then be ok? Even the hulk took a short time to recover from large explosions and shells from tanks.

the scene merely glorifies spideys efforts rather than making ock come across as more menacing, which i believe was the point of the whole scene.

november. i agree that it makes no sense. i guess thats why they didnt use it. they just want to get some money from the naive fans who already saw the scenes on the internet but will buy the dvd.

the problem with the majority of extended scenes that were cut out of the original film are purely because they affect the flow of the film and they are better left out.

it is very rare to see a director's cut or some extended scenes that actually help benefit the flow of the film in general...

Personally i can only think of daredevil and terminator 2 as incidents when they have helped.

Actually, everyone who's bought the 2.1 DVD here so far are saying the new scenes are a big improvement on the flow of the movie.

How about somebody up-load the WHOOOOLE bank-fight scene (on side of the building) from 2.1!!! I really wanna see that:)

yeah, i would like to this as well, and also the bank scene and train scene are extended, so is the final battle extended in any way...?

I bought the dvd in my lunch break today... I can't wait to see jameson in spidey's suit... gotta be hilarious!! :D

i've only seen two scenes

the jameson one, and i don't know where that is

and

the train fight scene one.

besides ock, you know very well when something new comes out in this place, fans are always happy for new footage, it takes them a couple of months to eventually let the 'newness' factor cool off and they are able to give a more rational opinion of it.

personal question, you think spidey getting hit by a train is an improvement to the original cut, considering the way he was reacting?

You don't think the extended cuts of LOTR improved upon the theatrical versions? :wow:
i'm didn't much enjoy the cuts i did see and there is no way in hell i'm going to devote any more hours of my life to that franchise.

my point was that i've only noticed two examples on where it helped but that is not to say i'm saying there are only two examples in all of film.

Oh no, yeah, there probably are more examples.

I guess you aren't much for LOTR rings then?

not particularly but i never read the books so maybe that's why...

:(

Yeah that was wicked, way cooler than the film.

Some people are forgetting that Peter's body can take a very bad beating, Not to mention his body heals a lot faster than a normal human being .

well why bother dodging any of the trains and walls in the first place?

So to the people who have 2.1, what was the Spider-Man 3 sneak peak like?

Yes, that's very true.

No. It should have affected him more than it did. Or we should have at least got a proper view of how he recovered from it.

really I think I might buy it plus there are a few new scenes of Sandman in the villians part
