What's incredible is that 90% of Jeff Hardy fans who cheered and cheered for him in WWE and bought his tshirts and DVD and watched him every week like a disciple will not bother to watch TNA.

That's like Metallica changing record labels and people saying "I wont buy the new album because a different company is releasing it".

In other words, it's stupid.

Part of that is because some people are more a fan of the the WWE brand and Jeff Hardy as part of that brand than simply fans of just the man himself. I won't call it stupid but your right its true.

Some people prefer one brand or company over the other or one brand or company and to hell with the others.

Another thing is some people may simply not know about TNA. And that's Spike Tv and TNA's fault and they need to improve their show and get their brand name out there along with making it more recognizable to the public if they want to grow.

Didnt Jim Carry break Jerry Lawlers neck during the filming of Man on the moon ?

I like the 6 sided ring too. I just think its hogan pretending like he's doing something important.

Wrestling will try out ANY kind of character no matter how absurd.

Probably. But I don't think Lawler was too upset after he spent the night in a hospital bed with a bunch of college girls from a local sorority.

and they are doing ZERO on this front

It's like...I remember meeting this guy with a Great White tattoo. He went on and on about how they are his favorite band and he LOVES them. I told him that I thought their latest album (at the time) Psycho City was pretty good. He replied "I havent heard that one". I then said that the previous one Hooked was good as well and he responded 'I havent heard that one either". I was confused and was like...oh, you're an oldschool guy...you must like Shot In The Dark and stuff" and he replied "No, I've only heard the hits".

How do people do this with their entertainment? How do you LOVE Jeff Hardy, and then not bother to watch him on free television because of a different logo on the floor????

TNA has done a horrible job with promotion (I still cant believe they didnt do whatever it took to get Hulk Hogan on the cover of TV Guide). But at some point you just have to assume that people are morons.

TNA has it's problems (Vince Russo and a horrible office and tv staff), but it's not like they are some super secret organization, the Skull And Bones of pro wrestling. if people want to know about Jeff Hardy, it is EASY to find out that he is on tv again.

I think Mondays show and Hogan coming in helped get their name out a little bit. TNA was getting more promotion than ever Didn't they advertise in Times Square? The rating was even higher than a lot of us expected considering what they were up against so I wouldn't say they are doing zero. They could be doing a HELL of a lot more though.

The show itself coudl definitly use some improvement. Mondays Impact certainly wasn't even close to the best booked Impact ever.

The Wrestling Observer reported earlier today that Ric Flair has signed a 65 date deal with TNA which will see him work those dates over the course of a year.
I spoke to a source today who has provided me with more details concerning Flair's current TNA deal. Apparently, Flair had been holding out on signing a deal with TNA as he was unsure about the contract he was receiving and wanted a deal directly with Panda Energy. However, in an effort to get Flair on Impact this past Monday night, TNA offered him a much higher amount of money than he had expected, which made the deal something Flair could not refuse.
Additionally, it's being said that TNA is very high on Flair at the moment because they see him as someone who could potentially boost the company's popularity in various international markets. TNA wants to use him as an ambassador of sorts, and as someone who can represent the company internationally to ultimately help make it appear more major league.
Some feel, however, that Flair's heart is not really in TNA, and that he is simply taking the big pay day without much interest in where the company actually goes.
It should also be noted that in addition to using Flair as an "ambassador," TNA still plans to use him as an on-air character and as a sporadic wrestler.

The Naitch needs that payday for his alimony! Wooo! He'll never piss off Vince and do whatever he can to be his b*tch, suck up to HHH, etc. Even Flairs smart enough to know he better have some place to fall back on when he's strapped for cash.

Exactly. I've never understood people like that. A good product is a good product. Doesn't matter who produces it or where its produced. If its good it doesn't make much difference.

I just thing it has to do with status and ego. People will refuse to buy the same pair of shoes from two companies if one doesn't have the name brand on it. They're only concerned with paying for the name.

In this internet age all Hardy's fans have to do is google him or look him up on wikipedia if they're really die hard and REALLY want to know what he's up to.

TNA star Kevin Nash commented on his Twitter page about the possibility of Impact permanently moving to Monday night. "I think going head 2 head every monday is in the works.Spike was happy with the ratings.special 4 me to be back with the band, great night!!!"

Twill's Two Cents: That seemed like a relatively definite statement from Nash. I think a permanent move would be a great thing for business, especially if TNA does not add more programming right now. I'd love to see them move and really focus on making Impact a great show. Since the surprise appearances have come and gone, now it is time to write quality
shows.

-Panda Energy owner Bob Carter was spotted sitting next to his daughter and TNA president Dixie Carter during the live Impact show.

-There was panic backstage when Homicide was unable to escape the steel asylum structure. The buzz is that there was some concern prior to the show over whether he could escape the cage, but he assured people he could.

-Vince Russo told wrestlers that he has no idea where the storylines are headed following last night's show. He was spotted walking in the studio early in the show and during the main event match between A.J. Styles and Kurt Angle.

Powell's POV: I'm told that Bob Carter was visible on camera seated next to Dixie, so watch for him if you taped the show or if you intend to watch the replay on Thursday night.

I spoke to one wrestler who pointed out that Homicide could normally climb the cage without any problems, but he was likely winded after working the steel asylum match. It looked a little silly for a minute, but I didn't think it was a big issue since everyone seemed to forget about his climbing problems when Jeff Hardy attacked him.

Russo is still employed as the head writer of the show, so I have a hard time believing he doesn't know where the show is headed. He's probably just working people for storyline purposes.

Its easier than that...surely many of Jeff hardy's younger fans are friends of his or a fan site on Myspace or Facebook. Those will surely spill the news on how to see him wrestle. yet like you said, the logo is different so they wont watch.

Notes from last nights Impact taping:

- gerweck.net

Man if that's true, and there were boring and "we want wrestling" chants, that's a very bad sign.

TNA better wake up about the product they are presenting, otherwise their fanbase will turn on them real quickly.

Russo's worked shoot crap is always sooooo obvious. The guy always over complicates EVERYTHING.

I bet he hires a guy to have an affair with his wife without her knowing then tries to woo her back just to make his marriage better.

Before TNA can do ANYTHING they need to fire this guy. He's been living off promises of recreating what he was a SMALL part of over a decade ago.

Next thing you know an insane TNA fan will say "The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin should be in TNA."

Which would be freaking insane.

You know, I don't see the Rock making anymore live action Disney family films with Disney's new film head. He has scrapped a sequel to Wild Hogs and the Robin Williams movie "Wedding Banned." Sure The Rock's Disney films have done well, but then again, so did Wild Hogs and a sequel was scrapped.

The new guy's focus seems to be not to make any more crap Disney films, no matter how much money they make.

I know he's doing some action movie soon and apparently Universal wants to sign him to a 2 or 3 film deal

Stone Cold breaking Stallone's neck increases my interest in "The Expendables" even further.

That's going to be a manly movie.

*Spoiler* - Possible Surprise Entrant For The Royal Rumble

source: www.pwtorch.com

The latest issue of the Pro Wrestling Torch speculates that Booker T could return to World Wrestling Entertainment as a surprise entrant in the Royal Rumble.

The multi-time champion has had discussions with WWE officials in recent weeks regarding a possible return to the company.

-- Dave Meltzer said this past week on Wrestling Observer Radio that the other reason Mickie James was moved to SmackDown — besides an apparent weight issue — was that she was annoying certain people backstage on Raw by being too emotional about a relationship she had just broken up from. Company officials felt it was best to move her "to get her out of their hair." (source: www.f4wonline.com)

-- On her Twitter account, Maria said she plans on releasing her music via iTunes this coming April.

-- The Bella Twins give their NFL Playoff picks at the following link.

- The original plan for Melina to drop the WWE Divas Title on RAW this past week was to have her get attacked backstage and then lose belt in a match to Maryse.

- Dana White recently said that Shane McMahon was looking to do some consulting work for UFC but did not know if they would make a deal. Apparently Shane, through intermediary and former WWE employee Carl DeMarco, has been looking at getting involved with the Strikeforce MMA promotion.

Hulk Hogan was said to be very stressed backstage at iMPACT on Monday, and feels the company has organizational issues. TNA was still filming pre-tapes late in the day, and it was said to be a very chaotic atmosphere for Hulk compared to the treatment he was used to in WCW and WWE.

Hogan held a meeting with the TNA roster prior to the show, which was described as a basic pep talk meeting. Hulk told the wrestlers that he’s looking forward to getting to know them all. He told them his door is always open, and gave the impression that he and Bischoff are running the show, although Vince Russo is still handling his usual backstage duties.

Some backstage sources say Russo came across as withdrawn, and after the show was telling people he had no idea what the storyline direction will be going forward.

I can't wait. Its going too be great. a throwback to the classic era of 80's action.

The Rock just needs to go ahead and play Black Adam in a Capt Marvel movie...if they ever get it made.

Some news and notes from TNA Monday Night.

Scott Steiner was backstage at TNA but not used on camera. He is still with the company but they chose not to use him.

TNA had two backstage workers who were in charge of monitoring WWE’s Raw broadcast. Their job was to tell the production people at TNA when WWE was at a commercial so Impact could time a big announcement or upcoming match.

Frankie Kazarian aka Suicide will be getting married to Tracie Brooks.

Actually that was something I noticed when I was watching RAW. During the RAW commercials on USA they had ads for Impact telling people it was on Spike Right now and to change the channel and watch Hogan live. It was a very smart move by TNA and Spike.

Why is it so difficult to understand this? TNA is more than just a different logo. They didn't utilize him correctly in the past, they more than likely wont utilize him correctly in the future, and when TNA eventually fizzles, Jeff has burned his bridge back to the WWE. Then what? Add to that the fact that outside Angle and Styles, there is no talent on TNA that would make for a compelling match, let alone feud, it is more than obvious why some people would be upset by this.

It actually sickens me that some folks would like to see Jeff Hardy fight Homicide...

Okay...so Jeff might be involved in lame stories...WWE has lame stories all the time, and Jeff was not immune to that either.

And TNA has no talent that can have a good match with Jeff????
You MUST be a blind WWE mark to not see that the X Division is tailor made for the exact kind of matches that Jeff Hardy fans love. Jeff made his name by flipping and flying all over the place...and now you'd rather him wrestle Batista or Cena??? Maybe Rest Hold Randy or HHH? In TNA Jeff would be surrounded by guys who can deliver the exact kind of matches that made Jeff famous. Daniels, Amazing Red, Sabin and Shelley...these would be classic Hardy style matches. Desmond Wolfe can outwrestle the entire WWE roster. Hernandez is a big man who can move fast and is agile...far different from the slow plodding big men of WWE. And a dream match of Sting vs Hardy...one of the few top level WWE stars that Sting has ever faced. Even Sean Waltman can get a faster pace, crazier match out of Jeff than half of the WWE. Your point is just silliness. TNA has major problems, but talent is not one of them.
