I hope Sting gets an honorable send off. I also hope he gets a Legends contract with WWE so they can put out a DVD set for him and I can finally see his body of work.

i hope so too, he deserves it. i just hope he has the right opponent

Im gonna have to start watching TNA again just to see Sting's sendoff now. Hopefully as everyone else has said its done right. If TNA can get one thing right let it be this sendoff.

Apparently Sting is on very good terms with WWE, so I think it's likely. Thought the way Vince has been moody lately, you never know.

I know that it has always been an issue of money, not of morality as Sting has been quoted as saying

I just hope, if the rumor is true, they don't try to rush the angle in 1 month. Sting's last match deserves a couple of months of buildup.

As long as it's not MEM member.

I wonder if it'll be Eric Young.

I like Eric Young but I wouldn't want to see him in Stinger's last match. I have a sad fear that it's going to Matt Morgan.

They just did Sting/Joe last month and last year at BFG, and they just did Morgan/Sting a couple of months ago. They have kind hurt their options for Sting.

Money? No. Actually it's been an issue of schedule more than anything, plus he wanted to do the Jarrett's a favor for giving him his first big break.

Morgan? He's garbage. Sting putting him over on his way out...:csad:

yes, it has...soon after Vince bought WCW, he made Sting a very generous offer, and then when it got out that he did turn the offer down, Sting tried to say it was because the content of the WWE at that time was something he didn't want to associate with

Stings a smart, smart guy...he knew what kind of money the WWE could afford and tried to squeeze them....and him being in TNA is a personal thing between him and the Jarretts and a sweet f'n schedule

Id like to see Sting in a WWE ring at least once, but it would seem too little too late for me anyway

Sting spent years on the road which is one of the reason's he opted at staying at home and sitting out his contract from time warner. WWE wasn't going to spend near the amount he was making to him, which is why you saw the steiners, Nash, Hall, Hogan, and Goldberg wait their contracts out. Why would he go on the road full time to make less money when he can make more spending time with his family, which Sting has made clear he wanted to make up for, especially considering his renewed faith.

Jim Ross, who dealt with Sting in all of those negotiations to bring him in, has stated many times on his website that Sting did not want to go on the road and wanted to be with his family. That's what it boiled down to. Even to this day JR states that he doesn't think Sting will sign because WWE will still want him to work more dates than what TNA offers. You also have to remember every time their were serious talks of bringing Sting in it was after his contract with Time Warner was up.

And yes Sting has stated many times in the past that WWE's content at the time was a huge factor why he didnt sign with them. But he has also come out and said during the invasion and afterwards he saw how WCW guys were treated poorly and he felt he wouldn't have been used right.

It has nothing to do with trying to squeeze WWE. He doesn't need to. The guy is financially set for life! He could leave today and make more money from WWE than he would TNA. The only concession is his number of dates he has to work.

the WCW guys that were there were mid to upper card, save for DDP and Booker...how were they supposed to be treated, or given preferential treatment over WWE guys?? the whole Invasion thing was a mess because of those bloated contracts and it was rushed severely....in any case, I think we can all agree that it would be nice bonus to see Sting in a WWE ring

The invasion and creative usage is a whole other debate. But you're right we can agree, we both would love to see Sting in a WWE ring.

BlackLantern, just read this off of JR' Blog on his FAQ section. It's dated 6/19/2009. This gives some perspective on Sting's decision not to sign with WWE, from a man who knows way more than you or me...

I've addressed this many times. Sting did not want to wrestle an ambitious road schedule when we talked about his return years ago. He was also deeply involved in the Promise Keepers organization and that was not only important to him but taking much of his time. He had a young family that he wanted to spend time with as well. I don't think that he will end up in WWE but who knows? I don't think so but then he again could come in and have his "last match" at a Wrestlemania. I don't know. Who knows if Sting even wants to come to WWE?

Sting will sign a legends contract with the WWE most likely. I think he would be in favor of that for many reasons:

- He doesn't have to work the extensive WWE travel schedule because it's a legends contract. Signing a legends deal means that he could be at home a lot of the time. Ted DiBiase has a legends contract and he shows up on TV every once in a while for the WWE. He doesn't go on the road with the WWE. Sting could do that and I think he could be open to it. The WWE goes to California a lot so he could be seen in attendance and have the WWE acknowledge him. The WWE does that to Harley Race whenever the WWE is in Missouri.
- WWE is now PG. Sting did not like the WWE's content before, but the WWE has cleaned it's image up. That's not going to change anytime soon.
- WWE Sting DVD. Usually a legends contract also means "DVD" so if Sting signs a legends contract, the WWE can finally do a Sting DVD and Sting himself would be able to choose the matches he wants on his DVD and do commentary on that DVD.

He may not want a full time contract (And with good reason) but who's to say that he will turn down a legends contract? He won't have to be on the road all the time under a legends contract.

At this point in time in Sting's career, I think they would offer him a Legends deal with a few appearances.

To me the biggest question about Sting going to WWE is how he feels about being the one top guy from WCW to never work there. It's a big part of Sting's legacy and what makes him so unique. I wonder how important that fact is to him and if it plays into his decision to work there.

I don't think Sting will sign a Legends contract to make appearances, but only to get his DVD set made. I'm hoping once he retires in TNA, he's retired for good.

Eh It's about time Sting retire. It's just a shame we never saw Sting vs. Shawn or Sting Vs. Taker.
