~Kristal Marshal's release. Due to the nature of the Teddy Long storyline, where Marshal had left TV to be with Teddy, neither her nor WWE have acknowledged her release. The original plan for the angle with Teddy Long was that it would be revealed that Edge had put Kristal up to seducing Long to get him out of the picture on Smackdown, as revenge for Long stripping Edge of the World Heavyweight Championship when Edge was injured. Edge and Marshal would then become a retread of Edge and Lita from Raw, with Marshal becoming a much more sexual character. Marshal was very against the idea for a number of reasons, mainly the sexuality of it. She is currently dating Raw superstar Bobby Lashley, and the two of them had both been pushing for Kristal to be moved to Raw so they could be together. WWE was no in favor of this, and decided that if she wasn't going to "play ball" with them on the Edge storyline, then there were plenty of divas who would and she was then released. No word on how Lashley is reacting to this release.

I love this because it is a reflection of todays workplace- If you don't want to do the job, they'll find someone else who will happily do the job and won't complain....

I'm glad that she stood up for herself, but I can definitely see why she got fired. It's true, there are thousands of women out there who would do the storyline. Good for her for sticking to what SHE wanted though...I'm sure she'll find work elsewhere.

That swerve with Edge doesn't sound too bad. I think it'd do well to give Edge more heat when he returned since Long got pretty decent fan reaction in the GM role. Although, I must say I'm not really interested in seeing Edge repeatedly moose-kiss other Divas like he was when Lita was aligned with him.

Edge also has the ability to magically annoy(in a good way) you as a bad guy when he's on his game.....I don't think he would really benefit from something like that as much as whoever the Diva involved in the story would...

Candice, Maria, Mickie James, Melina, Jillian, Lilian Garcia, Victoria, Torrie Wilson, Michelle McCool, Kelly Kelly and Layla are scheduled to participate in the contest.
