The Calgary Sun has an article on Bret Hart regarding his new autobiography, Hitman: My Real Life In The Cartoon World Of Wrestling. The book has been described as a "brutally honest" account of his life in the wrestling industry. The autobiography is now available in Canada and will be released in the United States early next year. Here are some of the more interesting quotes from the book:
Cheating on his wife: "My release, my amnesia, or maybe my anaesthesia, was women. Sex seemed like the lesser of all the sins that lay in wait for us. I knew for certain that this was going to be a long road ahead. I was 27 and I was never going to survive it if I didn't find some female company. I felt truly terrible about being unfaithful. It was so weird: I was on top of the world but ashamed of myself at the same time."
Drugs in WWE: "When I was working for my Dad, I didn't have to poison my body, I didn't need it. But when I got to the WWF (World Wrestling Federation), everyone was doing it. And Dynamite and Davey Boy were making three to four times the money I was. If I didn't take them, I wouldn't have a career."
His abusive father: "Stu (my father) had a temper so fierce that some would consider his corporal punishment child abuse. Too many times I limped around bruised and battered, my eyeballs red and ruptured because of his discipline. On more than a few occasions, I thought I was going to die. Corporal punishment was more common in those days. He was a product of his time, trying to deal with 12 kids all as wild and out of control as we were."
Potential Y2J News. Jericho May Not Return?
Sent In By Dan Hetherington
With all of the mystery regarding Jericho ’s WWE return, this may be news to indicate that he will not be returning this week at Cyber Sunday.
I live in Winnipeg , Manitoba , as I’m sure you know is Chris’ home town. A local radio show called Crime & Punishment is advertising that Chris Jericho will be a special guest this Sunday to talk about the Chris Benoit case. The show starts at 7:00 pm central time which is the same time as Cyber Sunday starts. Now I guess there is a possibility that Chris could pre-record his part of the show, but if the show is live it may be an indication that he is not scheduled to be at Cyber Sunday as I can’t imagine that he would want to be doing a phone interview from back stage while the PPV is going on (especially with the topic of the interview being the Benoit case).
The radio show “Crime & Punishment” can be heard in Winnipeg on CJOB 680 AM starting at 7:00 pm central time, as well as some other radio stations across Canada.
