If my scanner was currently not out-of-commision I'd post some doodles of a Darth Vader redesign. But...alas...it is. So I can't.

Maybe someone of you would like to get this thread going again?

i finally saw star wars yesterday for the first time, i saw A New Hope, and the Empire Strikes Back, and although i still have 4 more movies to go, i thought it was pretty decent.

so i looked through all the pages in this thread today and there is some cool redesigns in here

In the past year or so I just sorta thought that if I could re-do the Star Wars universe, I'd do several things differently.

I like the Strong, Silent Darth Vader...very stoic and Frankenstien meets Dr. Doom. However, it doesn't really refect the way Anakin acted before he turned, or made his way over to the darkside.

Basically...he'd be a lot less solid and more fluid. Acrobatics, very fast, yet still strong. Having the odd helmet sort of detracts from articulation and such, so I just sorta got rid of that.

I'd also change the origin of Darth Vader. Instead of the suit being a life-support system, it'd be more of a choice. He'd fallen and was injured. But technology and the force managed to heal him a lot better. Instead of hanging out on a star destroyer or the death star, the imperial base would be located on Mustafar. I figure a final showdown between Obi-Wan and Vader once again on the same planet that ended their friendship would be totally kick-ass. The deathstar would also be a lot smaller, more powerful, and sort of a satalite, controlled from Mustafar.

As for Anakin, he'd still have character. He'd be a lot more talkative, and angry. The helmet/mask would be removeable, though he'd still have scars. He'd wear it for intimidation purposes. And maybe for some sort of reason a la an ancient sith style or whatever.

Thanks alot everyone. I'd like to do something more complete and finished. So maybe I'll get around to something like that. Or maybe do some other characters to fit my idea.

But I'd have the helmet more Samurai like than it was

Its based on a WW2 german helmet mixed with a Kabuto samurai helmet


I do like what you said about making him more fluid tho with acrobatics

Its one of the things the Prequels did do well - great saber fight scenes
