The Story. - Part 1

:hehe: Bet they aren't as good as Mama Kents cookies!

Also, :nono: I cleared all this up back along. The site that gave the description of Jor-el fusing something into Kal-el's heart was reading it wrong. He fuses something into the SHIPS heart.

That's right, the ships heart. THE RECIPE'S IN THERE!!! :awesome:

I've read something like that. I think it was just fan speculation, could be wrong. But it wouldn't surprise me. I remember there being speculation they aren't at their full strength yet when they arrive and they have to adjust to the new powers and grow stronger. And yeah, I would expect Zod to gather information about our planet and observe what's going on and perhaps come to the conclusion we are destroying ourselves, or he sees earth heading into the same fate as Krypton and tries to secure it by putting it under his control, or..or..or maybe he just wants to show Kal-El a magic trick. :o

Exactly what I was thinking :)

The bolded... not the magic trick :hehe:

Cooking lessons with Superman's granny, played by Helen Mirren :awesome:

A Krypto cake, topped with sprinklings of red sun sugar :D

I definitely do love the idea of Superman's presence and actions being the catalyst for why humanity would decide to take action towards being more united in a world that's supposed to start off as anything but friendly.

It definitely shows that Superman's actions have a larger impact other than just simply saving the world at the end of the day.

Is it true that Jonah Nolan came in and "saved" the script?

They had him come in and give it a thorough look through

Yep, Johan just took a look through and polished a few sections from the script (nothing too major).

According to a year-old rumor at moviehole.net, both Kurt Johnstad and Jonah Nolan did fixes on Goyer’s script. But as far as I know, there’s been no independent confirmation since then. Everyone who cites this as “news” seems to be referring to the original moviehole rumor.

I have no idea of course, but it seems like they took the best parts of abrams script and threw in some ideas of their own as well.

They might just go that route down the line. I guess they might also in TDKR. They already hinted at it in TDK. Cant remember if it was a result of Batman's efforts, but there was a unity or maybe more a shimmer of hope when it was needed. I guess that's the goal of Batman. To clean up the city and ultimately have Gotham's own citizens do the work.

Once the general skepticism towards Supes dies out and he starts getting followers, I can only imagine the world will turn for the better down the line. Might take a while with that Lex always thwarting it.

One thing that hasn't been said about all this is, is this a worldwide threat or just local?...local being a relative term.
One would think it would be worldwide with 2 (or more) superpowered beings/villains wondering around.
Maybe I missed the answer to this.

Given Zod's ambitions, it's sure to be worldwide. Now, whether or not they can achieve a scope to fit the bill is another thing.lol

I would think worldwide, just cause krypton isn't a city. I mean why would Zod want to rule just metropolis?

I know that, what i'm asking is will snyder make it worldwide in scope or keep it confined to middle america (SV) and the east coast of the U.S. (metropolis)
No doubt Zod would want it all, but the film makers may have other ideas, such as, supes would stop him before it got to the point of being a worldwide struggle.

Oh gotchya Green...;).....I sure hope so, but it maybe the worldwide thing might escalate in the sequel, especially if we get brainiac

Zack Snyder’s MAN OF STEEL to Be Post-Converted to 3D; Plus a New Synopsis [Update: Maybe Not]
In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time. Clark Kent/Kal-El (Henry Cavill) is a young twenty-something journalist who feels alienated by powers beyond his imagination. Transported years ago to Earth from Krypton, a highly advanced, distant planet, Clark struggles with the ultimate question ‘Why am I here?’ Shaped by the values of his adoptive parents Martha (Diane Lane) and Jonathan Kent (Kevin Costner), Clark discovers having extraordinary abilities means making difficult decisions. When the world is in dire need of stability, an even greater threat emerges. Clark must become a Man of Steel, to protect the people he loves and shine as the world’s beacon of hope – Superman.

Well in light of the CC trailer was released; though that this thread could use a bump.

Some interesting things that the trailer had revealed that wasn't known previously were:

1. Superman in handcuffs being escorted by the Military

2. Clark will have a confrontation of some sort with Jor-el instead of just seeing a floating head or a formless voice.

3. Confirmed; Clark as Superman shares a kiss with Lois, meaning romantic arc is present.

4. Clark won't get such a good rep for his super deeds when he's young as evidenced by his bus save and how a mother of a boy that he saved wasn't too happy with her words.

5. Visual of Clark being surrounded by skulls.

So let the speculation continue on.lol

I have a feeling Lois will know Clark is Superman. There was a short clip of Clark protecting a boy with a tornado behind him and I think after it a shot of Amy running towards the camera from the same scene. I think she see's Clark do a super feet or is running after him.

Perhaps; we'll have to wait and see on that.lol

Another thing that caught my eye was the dialogue that Clark was saying, on how his father had said that the world might reject him and such, and given on how he said "My father"..I don't think he's talking to Martha..so I wonder if he's talking to Lois about that instead.

Who knows. I also wonder about Jor-El's dialog in the start of the trailer. I wonder who he is talking to, maybe making a speech on Krypton? Or it could simply be dialog recorded for the trailer. Either way, Russell sounded royal. Like I would imagine a King to sound like.

It'd be a shame to have her find out this soon, but TBH it won't be the end of the world for me.

That's exactly what someone else said...though that was in regards to some spoilers for TDKR.lol

We'll have to wait and see if it even happens though.lol..but I can't say that I'm not excited by the fact that it's confirmed that these two will be romantically linked in this film since I'm huge fan of the pairing.lol

Btw, anyone else happy that we are getting a FOS in this? I sure am. Didn't want to wait for a sequel to get it. Though I had hoped it would be underwater or inside a mountain and not in what looks like the arctic again (though thankfully the crystals are gone, though it was obvious they wouldn't be in this) Though who knows' that ´´door`` that Superman seems to come out of in the snow could lead to underground.

Probably;

Man, I really like how "rich" the story feels based on the CC trailer alone. It really looks like it'll be a great "coming of age" story for Superman's character...from infancy...to childhood..to eventual manhood...not to mention on how the conflict involved in the film spans from his father's time.

If they can brilliantly execute from starting with Jor-el/Krypton..to Clark's youth in SV..to how he eventually became Superman...met opposition from the public and government, and how he ended up winning public favor eventually..that'd be some mighty fine story telling right there.
