Uninspired name, I know, but since we have our very own section, I thought I'd keep the tradition going and create a lounge where we can talk about anything and...

I watched 2 episodes of Daredevil so far and..

When you're a fan of Game of Thrones, Hannibal, House of Cards, and True Detective, Daredevil's writing just doesn't quite excite me. I mean, it's not bad. It's much better than a lot of cable stuff (I am guilty of loving some Flash though). But from what I've seen so far, I don't know. I hope the following episodes elevates- which I'm sure it will from what people are saying.

I'm on a flight home from D.C and am going to get to watching Daredevil ASAP. Love the character and think he deserves a good adaptation. With this, the Game of Thrones premiere, and the season finale of Better Call Saul the I still need to watch, I'm set for tonight and tomorrow.

I am loving Daredevil so far and it seems to be the closest thing I have to a Batman live action series.

Some of the folks who enjoy Daredevil show enjoy the shows you mentioned as well.
And it's not like the shows you mentioned are far less flawed than a show like any of the comic book shows running now.

I just read Jessica Jones is set to release later this year, Luke Cage releases next year though. I don't know about Daredevil season 2.

Oh I didn't Jessica Jones was being released this year i heard it was early 2016. Then we'll get Luke Cage and The Defenders. Will Defenders come before season 2 of Dardevil I wonder?

Did they mean they were going to roll them out one per year, meaning they would all be in production at the same time eventually? I think with Netflix's money, I'd believe they'd treat these new shows like any network...or were they each just intended to be a mini-series?

I think they'll all get 2nd seasons, but maybe not 'til after the Defenders mini. Also, the order of the shows when they first announced them were Daredevil>Jessica Jones>Iron Fist>Luke Cage>Defenders. That may have changed, but I think people are assuming Luke Cage will start filming next just because he's already been cast, but that's because he's in the Jessica Jones show, so I don't think that's necessarily the case. Iron Fist should be up next when Jessica wraps.

The head of Netflix said the time in between shows will vary, but it will probably average around 8 months. He said they like to give the flexibility to the filmmakers to ensure the best possible product, so it wasn't definite that Jessica would be released this year, but it might.

Well that sucks. So it could be around 4 years until we see a second season of Daredevil, if we ever see one at all?

Could be. I guess it just depends on how a 2nd season could fit into their Defenders plan. The overall deal for this specific batch of shows was $200M, and that didn't include 2nd seasons. They're gonna have to make a new deal before they green light a new season... The question is whether or not that new deal could overlap with the current one, or if it would have to wait until this commitment is fulfilled first.

I think we'll get Dardevil season 2 by 2017 otherwise I give up.

Strangely, this makes me want to watch it even more. Now I don't have to worry about finding time to watch season 2. t:

But, objectively, it is a crappy situation. My condolences to everyone getting hooked on this show.
