The Superhero Cinematic Civil War of Tomorrow Thread - Part 62

My best of the decade... I have 99 options:

And BTW you're buggin.

I'd rate Caught Stealing and Highest 2 Lowest ultimately about the same 4 stars, but Highest DEFINITELY gets the edge.

Aronofsky wasn't depressed enough this time around for me. :sneeze:

I love PTA and I'm sure this one is a banger, BUT...

That gentleman deserves the Oscars next year. At the very least for Best Original Screenplay :sneeze:

Sinners is very good. The direction of OBAA is clearly better imo. No sequence this year will match the highway chase or the oner through Sensei's place.
Well, the good news there is Sinners qualifies for Best Original Screenplay while OBAA would be nominated for Best Adapted so they can both win. PTA seems to be the frontrunner for Director as of now.

I like how that works on multiple levels. :hehe:
I just saw that one too. It was good, but it's definitely the underdog in that fight. But according to Variety, Sentimental Value is the frontrunner for original screenplay this year. I'm not too familiar with that one but it's got Stellan Skarsgard in it so I'm sure he's wandering around naked in it for a significant amount of the movie. :o

Excited for that one. Trier and Vogt are amazing.

Going through my best of 2020s rankings... I wish these films were talked about more:

How to Blow Up a Pipeline
The Novice
Hit the Road
The Forty-Year-Old Version
Black Bear
Wendy
Funny Pages
Bones and All
Hundreds of Beavers
Blackberry
Robot Dreams
It's What's Inside
We Grown Now
The Peasants
Didi

Who would win at Bad Blood in a Hell In The Cell match between Taylor Swift and Katy Perry? Because that is the only way I would give a **** about their feud.

Don't worry they ended that nonsense when Katy Perry started flopping and Taylor was still rising to Queen of Pop status. One's getting married and the other has kissed two sexual predators.

Hit the Road and Bones and All are probably my favorites here. Seen about half. Those two are incredible though. Especially Panahi with his debut.

My list of 9/10s in the 2020s tops out at 43 though.
