I think the Punisher on Born Again was a pale imitation of the character I fell in love with. So I expect the same from the special.

And that is the key difference between Daredevil and JJ. Bringing back those characters are boring choices, but left open by the Netflix shows. Bringing back Killgrave is ruinous.

The Kingpin is not only Daredevil's arch nemesis, but one of the best villains in Marvel comics. I am not convinced that bringing him back is a bad decision.

Yes. Or, at least I do. And even D'onofrio acknowledged Woll being a core part of the show. And JJ is trickier, because the core cast has a bunch of characters that are not supposed to be likeable.
