It's disappointing read that Denzel Washington has been cast to play Hannibal of Carthage. That role should go to someone of North African or Levantine ethnicity. More erasure of brown people by Hollywood. A lot of people should know better including Netflix and Washington, who otherwise have an exemplary track record on inclusion.

Up next, Robert Downey Jr to play Gandhi, and John Cho to play Simon Bolivar.

After Coming 2 America i just dont trust Eddie Murphy anymore tbh.
It's not Eddie Murphy I don't trust, it's a comedy sequel picking up 30 years after the last movie (which was also pretty bad). Comedy sequels are iffy even when they're released within a couple years after the first one but the longer they wait the worse they always seem to be. Coming 2 America, Dumb and Dumber To, Blues Brothers 2000, Zoolander 2...all came out at least 15 years after the first movie and were all terrible. Bill and Ted Face the Music is maybe the one exception to that rule but even then it doesn't hold a candle to the previous movies.

Those reports of five months additional shooting seem more and more real.

Think about that for a second. Five months of filming is literally the average time it takes to film one of these types of movies from the ground up. They are scrapping this movie and basically are completely re-filming it. Imagine how bad it must have been to go to that rxtreme.

Lawd the budget on this is going to be epic.

What can Marvel do to go back to their pre-Endgame level of sustained success?

Is this Feige in the middle?

Hiring a new writer for reshoots? Oof

Oh, I'm sure his PR person isn't happy with that.
Unfortuantely, judging by the response online, the new evidence doesn't seem to be changing any of his defenders' minds. They're out there still saying he's justified and that she was "embarrassing him" by getting drunk with friends. That he's "doing good for the culture."

It's honestly a little scary how trials like this expose the number of people willing to defend abuse even when its plainly exposed.

We’ve had to endure decades of watching movies where white actors and plenty of other non-black actors played Ancient Egyptians. The French colonizers will just have to deal with Denzel’s casting.

But that’s a discussion for another thread.

Man, I'm really hoping for the best when it comes to this movie, but it really does sound like a HUGE mess. It's a shame too because I actually really enjoyed TFATWS despite its problems and I like the idea of Sam as the lead, but they really needed to take their time putting this together as well getting the right talent onboard.

I'm definitely not expecting this to be on the same level as TWS or CW but hopefully its at least close to being on par with TFA which was a good movie but not close to the quality of the sequels IMO.

Ancient Egyptians, like the Carthaginians, should be played by actors from North Africa and West Asia. The population had that appearance prior to the French empire.

It’s a shame we didn’t get more MCU films with the action quality and tone of TWS.

Hannibal was 29 when he attacked Rome. Is Washington not in his late 60s? That's quite the gap.

It makes sense for Agatha.

That's nice and you'd know more than me on that point, but I'd guess changing the title of the show every 3 months doesn't have much to do with the character within the show. They've changed multiple project titles during different stages of production over the last couple years, so I'd assume it's just another test marketing thing.
