I didn't see any from apocolypse or from Action on my computer, but I had made one from Noir back in the sixth season and I never used it.

You can have it. If it's not small enough (it's 32kb), let me know and I can tweak a bit more.

I get right on it trying to find some pics. I've never had a gif avvy and always wanted one. So if you happen to find the "Action" gif, I'd love to have that.

Otherwise, I'll post the pics of the ones I want.

I've always wanted a SV gif to show my love, but all the good ones were always taken and I didn't want to have the same avvy as another person.

Triplet...you ROCK!! Hook ole' BizAids up.:woot:

You can take that Clark one until I can see what I can do about doing the other one.

Richard Donner talks briefly about the Superman movie franchise in the LA Times:

http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/herocomplex/2008/10/richard-donner.html

Like so many people, I was a huge fan of Donner's 1978 "Superman" film and, in fact, I wrote a lengthy piece for the Los Angeles Times back in 2006 when the filmmaker got to go back and re-cut the sequel, "Superman II," which reached theaters in 1980 in a very different form than Donner planned. There's been a lot of talk lately about the future cinema life of the first and greatest superhero, so I had to ask Donner what he thought of the talk that Warner Bros. would like to take the Man of Steel into darker terrain.

"I do think you could probably take Superman into some other areas today. I think maybe it's ready to break the mold slightly and bring a little greater sense of reality into it. Not contemporizing it to like today. Just making the heavies -- and the situation that is the tension piece -- a little more broken away from the comic-book character. It would take some tricky writing, some good acting and some good directing."

Bryan Singer's 2006 film, "Superman Returns," felt like a valentine to the Donner work on Superman and the older director received it with fondness. "I totally enjoyed it. I saw it just that once. I went to the theater not knowing anything. Bryan and I had spoken many times before but I didn't want to know anything about the film. I went as the audience. And I thought, 'Wow, he really nailed it.' There's that one scene, when that piano slid across the floor on the boat? I was startled. It was great."

What would Donner like to see next for the Last Son of Krypton? He didn't hesitate. "I'd like to see Geoff Johns take a crack at the Superman...I think he would be startling. Did you read his comics? There it is. It's there on paper." Johns is a star writer in comics, of course, but before that, the Detroit native worked in Donner's office as an assistant to the filmmaker. Once again, Donner thinks the smart way to do business is to put a premium on loyalty and good ideas. "The studio hasn't gone to him and said, 'Give us a screenplay.' That would be the smart thing to do, but that's show biz. Right? Show biz, that's our life."

It doesn't surprise me that Donner liked SR, especially considering it was a big sloppy wet kiss to his movies.

I like Donner and S:TM will always be one of my favorites but he's WAY out of touch in terms of where the character of Superman is now. His little run in the comics showed that clearly. Bringing in Johns to write a script isnt a horrible idea mind you, but I could think of a few other writers I'd like to see take a crack at it more like Meltzer, Mark Waid, etc.

Superman: TM and Superman II will always be two of my favorite Superhero movies, but that's just it, they were great at the time they were made.

SR showed that those stories and that take on the character don't work anymore.

Like you mentioned, just look at Donner's "story" he wrote recently in the comics. It was horrendous. It brought in stuff that didn't make sense, the characters were not written properly, and it was just plain bad.

Oh, and Mark Waid writing the movie would be awesome.

Well, Geoff Johns is technically a "Smallville" writer, so maybe he'll be so impressed with the way Welling and co. read his lines that he'll write a Superman movie with them in mind. :D

Speaking of Geoff Johns, he made these comments when the Legion spoilers were posted (in case someone missed it):

Comments from "Legion" writer Geoff Johns also imply episode #10 will be a big event: "I can tell you with confidence, the season they have planned is easily the most ambitious to date," he said in a forum posting. "There are so many twists and turns. And episode 10. Episode 10 is INSANE. My episode is now 11, so it's going to be a hard act to follow, but I'll give it my all. I have to say too, that if they pull off where they're taking Doomsday...I mean, I didn't understand where they were going when they announced that Doomsday had a human alter ego. But it's freaking cool. As hell. And fans of the comics are going to be blown away when everything is actually revealed. It's really pretty spectacular."

Is ironic how he says comics fans "are going to be blown away" when many of them bash the show so much, maybe some will like it, but others will whine no matter how cool the whole thing is, time will tell.

I trust his take on the direction of the show. Heck I would be lieing if I said I wasn't interested in where they are going with Doomsday.

Well said. I've always been kinda "meh" about Doomsday, and it didn't make sense. But naturally, I'm excited to see how his story plays out. If he in fact has to do with what happens to all of the SV universe and how his battle with Clark will change things, if they do it all.

Barack Obama at the Al Smith Memorial Dinner last night addresses some of the rumors swirling about him. In particular, he reveals where he was really born.

Americans have a big choice to make, and if anybody feels like they don't know me by now, let me try to give you some answers. Who is Barack Obama?

Contrary to the rumors you have heard, I was not born in a manger.

I was actually born on Krypton and sent here by my father Jor-El to save the Planet Earth.

I fell on the floor when I say this. He does realized that there is only one Black Superman, right?:cwink:

who's taht?

yeah i am, its an interesting take yet rather :bh:ish it makes him easier to have around longer.

It makes him a more tragic figure also, since he is used to saving lives for a living, and seems to care about his profession.

It's all the more sad when he figures out that he kills those he swore to protect, almost like an anti-Clark. It might make him much more interesting than his comic counterpart.
