If this film is as smart and funny as the writer/director is, then it'll be a good one for Brandon to sign up for. It'll help get his humorless past performances out of people's minds.

The last few blips on the radar that I've seen of BR (aside from the not-scary scary show) were some comedic short films. I think he likes being teh funneh. :oldrazz:
More power to him if that's his niche.

It should be funny, Mike's a funny guy, but it's his directorial debut it looks like so I guess we'll see.

third batman movie will suck

we all know how threequels are

I'm getting tired of all the Batman talk. Anyone else?

I have a question...

Should I be glad that Brandon Routh has so much on his plate according to IMDB?

Or should I be worried his career is only slowed from going completely down the toilet by him working on a film by a guy I knew from a Yahoo writers email group?

*strokes chin thoughtfully*

I don't know, maybe you guys should tell me...

He's also got a cameo as a gay porn star in Kevin Smith's next flick with Seth Rogen:

Ain't it Cool News said:
The scene continues scene cuts to Banks awkwardly hitting on this tall, dark-haired man, who is revealed to be Brendan Routh (Superman in SUPERMAN RETURNS). For those who had been at the panel just before Kevin's, this was especially funny. It was an Entertainment Weekly panel that feature Smith, Judd Apatow, Zack Snyder, and a grumpy Frank Miller. During the Q&A, someone asked Kevin what he thought about SUPERMAN RETURNS, and his answer was that it wasn't gay enough, that there were all these opportunities to up the gay ante as it were that were missed. So to see Routh play a gay porn star's boyfriend just killed. But the scene is made perfect when Banks declares "I **** a lot." I longed to hear her say those words.

I'll probably try to see it, even if it's only to support my online bud but it might be too small to make it here to Pensacola.

We've got beautiful white sand beaches, but not much in the way of art house movie theatres... small films don't usually play here.

I don't know if anyone else noticed this...but Brandon Routh had a role in the same episode for the animated series "The Batman" as Allison Mack did.

yeah he played the villain. He had a much larger role in the episode than Mack did.

agree and i consider batman overrated anyway (he is nothing compared to superman):woot::woot:

I liked TDK and everything but it seems people are talking about it everywhere you go. The hype is ridiculous.

^^^ and now they are bashing superman because depressive and emo heroes are "cool" thing these days

this also showes state of our world today where people prefer these type heroes than superman

but didn't we get "depressing" and "emo" in Superman Returns? I think we need the opposite of that for Superman.

People nowadays love to focus on their flaws and limitations. They want everyone torn down to their level. Hence the popularity of Spider-man and Batman. People in general dont have a lot of hope due to the current state of world affairs, and most dont find it realistic to aspire themselves to greatness, ergo Superman doesnt strike a chord with people. He harkens back to a day when people actually gava a crap about something other than themselves. I hate the criticism when people say they cant relate to an "alien with superpowers." If thats your view on Superman then you've totally missed the point of the character. It's not his physical being thats supposed to inspire you (although that is cool), its his freaking actions and ideals. Just because you cant fly and shoot heat from your eyes doesnt mean you cant relate to a character who puts the good of all others above his own. Any parent should instantly relate to that.

And of course it doesnt help when his most recent public "showing" didnt give the public anything new or interesting to get excited about. ;)

The thing is that Singer failed to come up with a story that really drilled down to why Superman is still relevant character.

Clark Kent has flaws, he's not perfect so him not being "human" isn't why he apparently doesn't have appeal.

He's not as dark as Bruce, true, but isn't being the last member of your race pretty damn dark?

Added to that, he can jump to conclusions, make rash decisions, punch first and ask questions later, so he isn't perfect.

I think the trick is to come up with a story that shows how human Clark can be, despite his powers, and that is something that Singer didn't do. He made Clark reactive, instead of proactive. It's one of the things people complain about Smallville, Clark's too passive.

Give him a dilemma where his powers do him absolutely no good, or are even a detriment (like that OMAC storyline they were supposedly going to use for the JLA film), and that'd be something I'd love to see...

Have someone who can whip his butt instead of a campy land grab scheme, that'll probably do the trick.

IMO TW does good job when playing confused teen who is detsined to become greatest hero of allt ime in early seseaons (well he is not teen anymore) and i think mots of teens related to his probelm back in early season of smallville

like fitting in, freindship , love , etc

that's why i think show has done well consedring it is based on so called the "the big blue boyscott" character

Exactly!

That's why Smallville has succeeded for so long.

He's a normal guy, just with Superhuman powers...

^^^ yes and now since sesaon 8 is suppesdely last seaon they are making clark more like superman

like working at DP helping people out, dual indenitity so it's safe to say in this seseaon he will be in his superman personality however he will still have some "issues" or problmes to make his character more reletable to general audience

these days people wat superheroes to be relatable and have normal problems like everyone else

i have said that gone those era where people actually cared about goodness of world these days people specailly younger generation care more about what did britney spears on this or that event than actually caring about global issues

that's why superman is considered "joke" by many younger generation

i will post an acrticle where Zack snyder (director 300)says superman's days are long gone

Relax, its just teen choice awards.

^^^ well same thing can be said when people go way overdramatic when show messes with "mythology" i m still calmer than that so don't worry :)

Please Superman is the most unrelateable Superhero period . I could never be Superman because I'm not an ailen from another planet who's a god among men & I'm not an overgrown boyscout who tries to be prefect. However I could be BATMAN . Because he's got no superpowers & he's not prefect . He's an ordinary guy Kicking ass and taken names .with such a badass style . (He basically puts all the other super powered heroes to shame .)

LOL that's the exact response I posted above stating what stupid people who dont get the character like to state. Congratulations, do not pass Go, do not collect $200, you're a stereotypical dope.

You dont have to be a super-powered alien to relate to Superman, and the fact that you cant assume his physical form doesn't make him any less relateable. Unless of course, you have the mental capacity of a 7 year old and only judge the characters based on the cool things they can do.

It's his ideals and his actions that the everyday guy on the street can aspire to. Superman isnt supposed to be us, he's supposed to be us at our best. And that has nothing to do with superpowers. If you havent grasped that concept by now, you should just put down the books. Superman is something to strive for, the best in all of us. He's an example of the inherent good that we all possess because his morals and values are that of a human being even though he could basically tear apart the entire planet without breaking a sweat.

Although now that you mention it, technically you couldnt "be" Batman either. You're more likely to get hit by lightning TWICE than you are to become extremely wealthy. Not to mention that no matter how good you at martial arts or detective work, you're almost guaranteed to get arrested, seriously injured, or killed becoming a vigilante. So while neither you or Batman have superpowers, what he does is equally as fantastical as Superman flying and picking up continents.

You can say all you want about me. I really don't care . The fact of the matter is Superman is unrelateable . and he always will be .

Batman on the other hand is much more possible even Bale said it .

"Batman has no superpowers whatsoever so it really is a Man. And we want to give the impression Ok if your fit enough, if you have these skills . This could be possible to do ." ~ Christian Bale
