AVID!

Please post or answer your email. I'm getting very nervous about those horrendous fires in Australia. :(

I'm with Rene. How are things down under Sue? Are any of the fires threatening your area? :(

Man, I must be living under a rock, because I didn't hear of any fires. Hope everything's alright Avid.

Sorry Serene. Just sent you an email. My computer was at the store getting the hard drive replaced and I've been so super busy at home that I didnt take the time to seek out another computer to log on and check my email. :csad:

Thank you, I am quite fine, although many are not. I live south of the city on the coast and the fires were inland, north of the city.

Its so touching and reassuring to know that there are people on the other side of the World thinking about me personally, and thinking about all those people who have lost their homes and worse still, their lives.

Thanks guys. :yay:

This is such a harsh country. While down here in the south we were experiencing the worst bush fires in history, up in the north they were devastated and uprooted from their homes by severe flooding.

I'm glad you hear you are doing alright Sue. My heart goes out to those whose lives are truly shattered because of these terrible disasters. :(

I'm very happy to hear that you are not among them. :)

I'm sure the basketball fans on the board are already familiar with Nate Robinson's "Kryptonite dunk" over Dwight "Superman" Howard at the dunk contest at last week's NBA All Star Weekend. If you haven't seen it:

Well, it turns out that the whole thing was officially sanctioned by WB and DC Comics. Nate's shoes are actually going to be called Nike Kryptonites! (Okay, actually Kryptonate, but still. I'm surprised DC signed off on the whole thing. I guess they got a lot of good pub by having D-Ho wear the \S/ last year.

That dunk was pretty impressive. Thanks for sharing RakuMon. I totally missed all=star weekend this year :(

Looks like a few Smallville alums are going to be part of the new Stargate series.

http://www.tvguide.com/News/Stargate-Universe-Casting-1003308.aspx

Obviously Alaina was Black Canary but I cant remember who the heck this Elyse Levesque played in Season 7? Says she was 'Casey Brock" in Wrath and Gemini, but I cant for the life of me remember who that was?

Nice cast. I've never watched Stargate...but I might consider checking this one out for the cast...let's hope the writing is up to snuff...

Nice to see Ming-Na in there as well...have always liked her...even in *ahem* Street Fighter...

My son is one of the BIGGEST Stargate fans out there, however he's not feeling any love for this new series, as it sounds too much like Dawson's Creek Across the Universe. :whatever:

The fan video WormyT made of Welling as Superman gets a mention in issue #210, page 21 of WIZARD Magazine.

First off, Avid, you okay girl? I had no idea. Sorry for the late response; I don't get to read or post here that much anymore.

Second, a huge congrats to RakuMon! Man, that's really amazing!!!

And third, HOLY COW! C. Lee, what did they say? Was it a reader comment, or something from the writers' of the magazine?

The magazine is talking about homemade fan films on the internet....they mention several.

They have a pic of Welling in Superman suit flying (from the youtube video)....and have this write-up;

SUPERMAN REBORN
In a clip that both fascinates and disturbs, "WormyT" places the head of "Smallville's" Tom Welling on Christopher reeve's spandex clad body. Surprisingly, Welling looks pretty comfortable in the blues-but it helps if you squint a little.

Baahaa! Well, not glowing, but the mere mention in Wizard - of all magazines - is awesome! Thanks for the re-cap. :D

Yeah, I'm fine thanks. Well away from the disaster areas.

Others have not faired quite so well. 7th Feb has been declared a National Day of Mourning. :csad:

I think the Spider-Man musical has a lot of potential, actually. With the acrobatics of the character, and the nature of his story (romance with MJ, New York setting, coming-of-age yarn) it could work. And the people involved really intrigue me.

On an unrelated note, if anyone's looking for a good read, check out the Mummy 3 script from our old buddies Al & Miles. :funny:

I don't know about the spidey musical, but that script is pretty awful, IMO.

Is the film as bad as this read?

Yikes.

Oh, gotcha...
