He's had coaches before. Each pick he's been making has been a progressive step up - Bang Bang Club is more than Gambit was and so on. If he keeps up that trend he'll only get better and better. He doesn't need a step backwards.

LOL, I love the way he laughed at the question. :p

I am a little iffy on the Jon Carter role. It could come off as stupid, or amazing like Vin Dielsel's Riddick. But I am leaning towards this may be kinda lame. :( Some things don't translate well to the big screen and I have my doubts about this one. I also don't know if he is going to go for a role that depends more on his looks than his acting ability. Like I said, we haven't seen him shirtless in a really long time. I think that is more by his choice than anything else....

Think about it like Superman, but in reverse. Instead of an alien coming to Earth, and Earthling goes to the alien planet and becomes a hero :).

Remebers not too fondly Tom Cruise in Legends. :( Some things just don't translate well, and if he doesn't have the chops for it that body is only going to get him so far.....

He has a natural charisma, which works well, John Carter could become a good role for him :)

Maybe I just don't know enough about John Carter to know one way or the other. :( I just would hate to see him go on his looks instead of actually being able to have something to say through his acting.

Also, he'd have to get looking like this again...

Nooo.... not like that. Less... bulky... more... defined. :D

John Carter, characterwise, is an old school fighting man. He's like a knight, a samurai and a superhero rolled into one. He lives for adventure and rushes headlong into impossible situations with a sword in his hand. Before Mars, he finds himself a veteran of the wrong side of the Civil War, living in a world where fighting has lost its honor as weapons grow more powerful. On Mars, or Barsoom as the natives call it, he finds a sort of Valhalla. A dying world where every nation fights over limited resources but with a sense of honor that has been bred into them over eons of warrior culture.

He's also kind of a bonehead. He's incompetent around women and tricked more easily than he'd care to admit but never doubts his own intentions.

Also, like Wolverine or Van Helsing, he's been 30 for as long as he can remember...which is a looooong time. Jackman would be perfect for the role if weren't so easily typecast as such.

oscar winning director, script by a Pulitzer prize winner, two time oscar nominated co-star, cutting edge visual effects - what's the downside?

iffy genre and nearly naked costume and the fact that the project has been kicking around for eons and considered un-makable

hmmm whatever is a rising star to do?

Damn, The White, formely Green Ranger...one of my first TV crushes. First season of power Rangers were too rad for words.
Yeah! But I hated Tommy and Kimberly, lol. It was all about them. My fav was Trini :yay:
I don't know, I guess I consider myself more of a Taylor-as-Gambit fan then just a Taylor fan.

.
Me too, to be honest.

nah, I like the way he looks now MUCH more, he was starting to get too bulky

!
But me likes bulky! :o I mean, not Wolverine-like bulky, but the gym pics are... yummy... great. I don't say he doesn't look sexy slimmer too, but... those guns... ahh...

He was looking a bit too bulked up for my tastes in the gym pictures. I like a lean, ripped guy as opposed to Arnold big, you know? :(

Yeah but he doesn't look like Arnold in the pics either... but I know what you mean with lean and ripped, I like it too. Ah, it's so hard to decide which Taylor I like the most; I like them all.

Just read Legacy. The crappy, moony Gambit most of you gals like was in it. :(

I like "crappy, moony" Gambit? How so, because I don't sit around mooning about how hot he and Kitsch are?
Seriously Squeek. Rogue and Gambit are together! Get over it! :p Its childish to hate Rogue for Gambit's lack of development and vice versa (and Rogue fans do in fact blame Gambit too). Like I say, they are just drawings on a piece of paper. If you wanna get mad at someone, get mad at the writers.

I don't get mad at the lack of Remy's development, I hate Rogue for leaving his ass behind TWICE and yet he's okay with it. It's not okay, not in the least, and in the real world, she would have to ACTUALLY aplogize for it, something that is WAY over due.

Both times can be chalked up to poor writing overall. Again, not Rogue's fault. And it doesn't mean their relationship is bad.

EDIT: Wait. What two times do you mean? If one of them is Antarctica, its kind of unfair to hold it against her since she did apologize if I'm not mistaken. And she went back for him several times apparently. She just never found him.

It's icky to me. :( I'd appreciate it more if the full love and devotion ran both ways. Until I see it my anti-ROMYness has only grown worse to the point of total aversion. :(

But Rogue does love Gambit, Squeek. A lot. She's just a little messed up. And who wouldn't be with all those personalities running through her head?
