When those trunks come back—and it is more than likely that they will—you will look upon them and think of nothing else :evil laughter:

Actually, I have sort of had a change of heart. I'm fine with the trunks if they keep the dark gray and black like it is in this:

A cycle? More of a blip from time to time. But you got part of the “cycle” idea right; the trunks will return.

By cycle, I really wasn't being specific as to the length of each phase, whether absolutely or relative to each other. One phase of a cycle may be seventy years, then the next may only be five years, but it's still a cycle. A cycle only implies a repetition of phases in sequence.

Alan Thicke knows.

Then get him to explain it.

You’re getting carried away here… at the end of the day trunks are just ink on paper. It is no more difficult to color them than it is to shade the unitard properly. In fact, it is quite probably easier.

True, it is ink on paper, but I don't see how shading the unitard properly would probably be any easier.

Maybe; agnostic for sure.

If that were to be true, then I would have to not had a strong faith in God in the first place.

Sorry to break it to ya fella, but it ain’t no new idea. They’ve been exploring these ‘modern sensibilities’ since the ‘90’s. We’ve seen them all before in one variation or another. They’ve come and they’ve gone away.

While it's not a new idea, it is one worth exploring. DC seems to be interested in getting rid of the trunks, but they don't seem to be as interested in keeping them off.

The cowl is very Keaton-esque.

That's not even dark gray. That looks like it's all black, but there are lighting effects in the coloring.

Kinda like this batsuit.

It might be my favorite comic book Batsuit. I think it could use a black utility belt (to tie the black parts together in the center as the trunks did, and to blend into the suit), but otherwise, it's awesome. It has a combination of the best permutations of the classic comic book Batsuit: Black with a dark gray, no oval around the Bat-symbol :ybat:, and no trunks. All that adds to a great look in my opinion.

I'm pretty sure that's Cyborg of Teen Titans fame.

I could be wrong though because I don't follow DC too closely outside of Bats.

Cyborg looks like one of the many comic monstrocities from circa 1996. I don't dig it.

I just figured out why I have no problem with the "blob" look on the new Batsuit, yet I think that Sentry's costume is bland: It's the dark gray. The dark gray and the black blend together very nicely, so their absence (or presence, for that matter) isn't very conspicuous, so you could (theoretically) remove the trunks and call it a day, and I would like it.
The trouble is that, when you lighten up the gray, then their absence, and the resulting blank spot becomes apparent and you get something like this image, which is the problem I think many have with removing the trunks:

Would this be an accurate summation?

^^^That picture probably draws more attention to Batman's package then any other I've seen. Slightly awkward.

On a side note, from the bootleg, it looked like Bats was still in his TDK suit, but it was really too hard to tell for sure because it was too blurry.

The Batman, Inc. Batsuit picture? If so, I think it's because of the pose and maybe some seams that really don't help matters.

Yeah, it's definitely the seams. In terms of the whole no trunks thing though, I'd still like something to break up the lower body. Possibly put black on the outside of Batman's thighs, the way they put blue on the outside of Wolverine's when they nixed his trunks.

I think that could work.
What about a black utility belt, as shown in the Batman: Earth One and Wizard Magazine's Ultimate Batman designs?

The utility belt still only breaks up the waist area. You need something to break up the legs.
