I guess my best bet to keep my sanity would be to stop caring about the film for the next year and hype myself back up a few weeks before release. It worked in '07. Let's see if it does again. :cwink:

Wow. That's smartest thing you've said yet.
I'm impressed.

Could you not flame bait me for once? I mean, thanks for the compliment, but you're implying that my comments have always been idiotic up until this point. Whatever. I'll just drop it.

Meh... he does that.

“Dark Knight Rises" seeking Production Assistants

http://www.pghfilm.org/hotline.jsp?pageId=2161392240601287511676525

BeInAMovie.com is handling the large crowd scenes in the “Dark Knight Rises” film and will be hiring PA’s (production assistants) to work on set for one day. The filming is on Saturday, August 6th in Pittsburgh from 7am –7pm. With a training/orientation on the preceding Thursday or Friday (TBD).

Having on set experience is definitely a plus, but if you have high energy, a sharp mind and a good attitude, you are also invited to apply and will be considered.

This can be used as a credit for your film resume as a PA on “Dark Knight Rises”.

*These are long production hour days and you must be able to handle them. Lot of fun, lot of work.

*You must be a minimum of 18 years old,

*Have a H.S. diploma (minimum),

*Have references and be able to pass a possible background check.

*You will also go through a very heavy security check before allowed on set.

*You may NOT bring a camera onto set with you.

*This is a job that will require your full attention for the whole day.

We will be hiring both full day and partial day PA’s.

The full day pay is the standard film day rate of $125.00.

The short day rate is $50.00

There will be a 3 hour training on either on Thursday or Friday (TBD) that is mandatory for anyone hired for the full day. Training and orientation will be at 5:45 PM to make it easier for anyone needing to come after work. You will be paid $25 for this training and on set orientation. If you come for the training and do not show up for the actual day, you will not get paid. This is a package deal.

This is an outdoor scene, we may film rain or shine or may move filming to Sunday if weather is too terrible so we prefer people with flexibility in their schedules. We would notify you of any schedule updates.

A word of caution before applying: This is a very important day for this film. This will count as your first warning: if you are hired and at any point are not where you’re supposed to be, can’t be found, or just want to be social instead of working, you will be “let go” (that means fired) immediately and escorted off set by security. There’s no gray area or discussion at that point. Being fired does not look good on a resume. Obviously you will not be able to use this as a credit then.

OK, now that that’s all said… this should be one remarkable experience for anyone, experienced or not and you will have bragging rights for many years. Come ready to work focused and a long day… and come ready for one amazing day of film making that you can be part of.

So, if you are still interested visit BeInAMovie.com/PA and sign up!

Thanks for posting Kane.

Any other news today? Have the Pittsburgh ninjas spotted anything?

Pittsburgh is so close, yet so far away. If I lived closer, I know what I'd be applying for today.

Actor Christian Bale a/k/a Batman in Pittsburgh tomorrow at a press conference. Of course, Gov. Corbett & Mayor Luke there to get autograph.

Did the Batman VS Christopher Nolan thread get deleted? That's a shame. The thread was inherently stupid upon its creation, engineered around a dumb, redundant conflict, but quite by accident we got some interesting discussion about the symbiotic nature of filmmaker and source material in amidst all the screaming hyperbole and idiotic remarks. Closing and deleting it all could be throwing the baby out with the bathwater.

The press will cover it. There'll be vids of that all over the net and the news. That was how it was with the Bale/Nolan Chicago and HK press conferences. I suppose most of the questions will be related to the Pittsburgh shoot and there'll be "is this your first time in Pittsburgh?" type of questions.

Not getting my hopes up  but would be nice to get some details about the plot (maybe simultaneously a press release with a synopsis or something) ....

Even if we don't get a plot snyopsis it's going to be cool hearing Bale talk about the film regardless. This is just awesome news!

Sweet maybe we will get a pic of Catwoman/Batman?
