I think Nolan excells at car chases because there's a sense if rhythm and excitement.

I know that TDK's fight scenes weren't well staged but I don't know how anyone could think BB'a was any better. They were barely watchable. It's funny how Batmans best scenes are his first in both films though..

That said, I think the good signicantly outweights the bad. nolan's strengths are his nack for drama and character moments.

Wait... people actually like the fight scenes in Begins? Really? They are terrible. The whole "we are seeing the fights from the goons' persepctive" arguement is valid for maybe the first fight when Batman first appears, but after that, it's a headache. I'm glad Nolan learned his lesson, and made the fights watchable in the Dark Knight.

People make a big deal about kicking for some reason. Every time the fight scene argument comes up, somebody's complaining about how Batman doesn't kick enough people in TDK, or he throws too many elbows, or some nonsense. The fights in Begins are superior, these people claim, because Batman kicks people.

This is actually a brilliant argument, since it is so insane that it is impossible to argue with.

The praise for the fights in Burton's Batman are what really baffle me. I've seen Godzilla movies with better fight choreography.

Batman's fighting style in Burton's movies:

Stand there, move slightly, thug flies into a wall.

Just because you don't like the quick editing from Begins doesn't means the choreography itself was bad.

The fight scenes were good in TDK in a different manner. The more brutish and direct approach with a much more steady camera is fine but Begins tried showing Batman as a wraith thus the frantic camera.

Plus even in TDK with a lot of elbow shots and whatnot the Begins costume still looks amazing in the intro sequence for Batman. That's what some are trying to point out.

So cut the sarcasm short fella it doesn't solidify your argument.

Haha! Good post (no sarcasm). I wish there was a like button.

i wouldn't know how to argue against the fight choreography in batman begins becuase i could hardly tell what was happening.

5 if you count Talia and Black Mask.

:awesome:

6. Rachel is Hush
Thats right, she's not dead
Neither is Ledger
Inception strikes again
I heard the top drop at the end Nolan, he's awake
Or it could've been your ninjas taking out that scene too late
So how bout that Batman

Spoiler within a spoiler within a spoiler.

I'd love to see a good manip for the Batman franchise that had Scarecrow, Ras, Two-Face, Joker, Bane and Catwoman all together. That would be made of epicness. Maybe even add Zsasz and Falcone into the mix for laughs.

Don't forget Black Mask!

The plane that's going to be used is a huge plane, right? Wouldn't they use a smaller plane for one prisoner? Unless is was a number of them, but then where are they coming from?

I do see Bane being on the plane, but not as a prisoner, as the head of some sort of smuggling operation into Gotham. Weapons and drugs, something like that. Catwoman sneaks onto the plane to try to steal something, and Bane catches her, and the two of them get in a fight, causing them to crash the plane. I don't think Batman will be involved in the plane at all, though it's entirely possible that he is.

That's a great idea, why haven't I done that myself yet? :o :wall:

Umm, what? I think the description strictly said Batman. I don't think they'd have him landing a plane on a highway without the Batman getup, being costumed up is usually synonymous with a big action scene. I could be wrong, though.

From the Opening Scene-thread.

I have two suggestions for the opening scene:

1.
Dark asfalt
Raindrops can be heard and soon the rainstorm shows on screen as the rain pours down.
It continues while slowly but surely the rain part ways to contour a the BAT LOGO

Dissolve to :
Graveyeard. The rainstorm continues.
Pan downwards to reveal the Waynes Tombstone, a great griefing angel.
Standing infront of it is a man in black trenchcoat, not caring to shield himself from the rain.

2.
Dark asfalt
Raindrops can be heard and soon the rainstorm shows on screen as the rain pours down.
It continues while slowly but surely the rain part ways to contour a the BAT LOGO

Dissolve to:
Sky. Rainstorm still continuing.
We hear a roaring sound of an engine and what sounds like small explosions.
Suddenly a giant plane flies over us. Burning. Crashing.

Thoughts?
