On another note, the idea of a football game being attacked by Bane is really intriguing and freakin ballsy given the way the world is nowadays.

Yeah, I was thinking that too - with a heightened security, post 9/11 world - but he did it somewhat in TDK with the ferries.

Hmmm. Very interesting...

I like the sounds of it. Not against a stadium or football being used although it is a bit of a peculiar choice.

The decision to use this setting did catch me off guard when I first heard it - I'm a huge sports fan and anytime I watch scenes in movies with fictional "pro" teams it takes me out of the scene for some reason...I realize we're talking about a movie with costumed superheros etc, it's just that there really is nothing to reference Batman against in my real world. In that I mean that Nolan creates this world were most of everything is believable and in tune within itself. Seeing Batman or the Tumbler in action works because there is nothing in my real world to compare it against or that would suggest it should be any different. With football on film, I sometimes look at the players and think, "they clearly are actors because they don't move like real pro players, the action looks stilted compared to normal NFL games."

Regardless, Nolan and co. have earned my trust and I'm sure they'll pull off something awesome.

The casting call said they were looking for real football players, I think it was college football players, to be used for the scene. I dont watch football, so I wouldn't notice, but they should probably look fine. I wouldn't worry, like you said, Nolan knows what he's doing.

LOL I don't know why that just reminded me of that. However I'm sure his clean look won't be like that in the film. But all this prisoner talk I just have a a feeling either we are going to get a Bane Breakout, or Bane letting prisoners escape from prison ala Knightfall.

So this is interesting, it could be both. I mean I think it Pittsburgh they are wanting, or the casting directors were talking a lot about prisoners and rough looking people, so it must be more then a quick shot. Is there any prison or something like it that they are looking at in Pittsburgh? Or any place they may use for a prison exterior in Pittsburgh? Yurka? Have you heard anything on this?

It means nothing really, in terms of the film itself, there is nothing wrong, marketing has nothing to do with that really. It's just ya it sucks we are not getting more but in the end what matters is the film.
