Then it would be kinda weird for this one not too, right? I would assume it will.

So they would be alternative base-line costumes? I wonder if the makers feel like the armour would let players make any alternative costume they desire.

I'd honestly go nuts if that's The Riddler next to Supergirl. Electric cane combos and trap gadgets!

Wonder Woman under Atrocitus, Harley under Superman, Prince under Supergirl, and Conan O'brien #3 bottom row.

That's my fear, They may not think standard skins like in the first game match what this new game is about and the mechanics of upgrading. They could be thinking "we'll hey, at least you can have different armor designs and colors"

That's what I immediately thought. Which I don't exactly hate because I don't mind the base costumes so far. But there might not be anything we can do about Superman's weird neck collar.

Don't worry, they will sell you skins. They will.

Saw a 15 minute gameplay video and it looks fun & good but I'll be waiting for the GOTY/Ultimate Edition

I can appreciate the innovation with the gear system, but in all honesty I don't know if I really care all that much about it to be honest. I'm more interested in the alternate costumes and at present it doesn't looks like you can do anything other than play the characters in whatever the base costume is and add gear to it. Most of the regular costumes sucked last time and this time looks not much different. I actually broke my own no-skins rule last time and purchased the MoS Zod costume just so I didn't have to look at the hideous design they came up with.

All that gear stuff is leaving me completely cold. I don't care about customizing my character with different gear and enhancing their stats. The only fighting game where I cared about that, was DBZ Xenoverse. And that was because I could create my very own character, not customize existing ones.

I'm gonna spend wayyy too much time customizing the characters lol.

I dont like that Supergirl has short hair. Thats part of Power Girl's signature look. Should have made it long with a short do as a PG skin

Maybe there's a reason the hair is short and resembles Power Girl's.

I'm gonna spend wayyy too much time customizing the characters lol.
that's the point from whatthe video interviews of both the people that run twitch and the IGN interview showed besideshaving this armor you can make them look unique in what they wear and look like and withthe IGN they showed super girls arm's doing some sort of phase ability and they showed her having her heat ray vison turn purpllish like when she fough bizrro super girl who's heat ray visson was purple and it created freezing up against kara white hot heat ray vison ala all star super the comic and animated move which the live action show of super girl had adopted.
the armor offer more of preperation thing for who your fighting next when you think about it .

it's utilitarian way to face you opponents like how bat man has his armor in this have some sort kriptonite attack that shoot green liquid. there alot to this
if you know aqua man's weakeness(which is heat ) you have special armor that help you ether take down or protect you from certain attacks or just enhance your powers that what they were going for here, I think .

superman and super girl have a weakness to toxic radiation high level laser gravitation weapons (see all star super man for that) telepaths( super man versus the elite) and magic. all this beside kryptonite

so superman putting just a certain armor for a magic user like Raven or dr. fate or zatanna . It kinda make sense . since when magic user come along he become weak to them.

example below. Fallowing that are impression from Jose from EPN.tv put up today .

  • E3 2016: Injustice 2 Soars up High

Who would win in a fight between...Continue Reading...
  • [*]Injustice 2 has ramped up from origin story to fully fledged hero rather quickly; the reveal trailer above dropped a week ago and now at E3 we have a playable build of the game. Netherrealm Studios (NRS) have been busy on the show floor conducting various interviews and play sessions. From this we can see how the DC fighting game is progressing thus far.
    Better than Batman v Superman?

Many aspects of the first Injustice triumphantly return; this includes interactable battlegrounds, ridiculous super moves, and personalized dialogue between characters. Some features have been tightened up and look much more smooth. For instance the clunky wager system (where two fighters bet super meter against each other) from the first game no longer ruins the pace of battle. The backgrounds and character models look much better as well. The expanded colors of the game really help break away from the gritty grey and green that plague superhero titles.

    [*]
    [*]
Atrocitus is leader of the red lanterns: a group that uses rage as their guiding principle.

One of the more exciting things about a fighting game based on an entire comic universe is the roster potential. 6 confirmed fighters have entered the arena: 3 returning and 3 new. It would be impossible to have a DC universe game without Batman and Superman. Aquaman is also back since the character has regained popularity in the last few years. Newcomers include red lantern Atrocitus, Flash villain Gorilla Grodd, and super cuz Supergirl.

    [*]
    [*]
    Grodd: the telepathic, angry gorilla.

There are a bunch of popular and not so well known characters that I would love to see in the game and speculation has already started. Ed Boon, co-creator of Mortal Kombat and head of Netherrealm Studios, has already started his trolling ways and hinted at various characters. The biggest was a tweet about an Injustice 2 shirt that the devs were giving out at a fighting contest for Mortal Kombat X. Symbols printed on the fabric included Harley Quinn’s hammer, Dr Fate’s mask and what look like to be Captain Cold’s gun. This definitely does not confirm these characters but it does give them better chances.
    So many clues.

The most controversial part of the game comes from the new gear system. NRS is known for adding experimental features that they hope will innovate the fighting genre (interactable arenas) and this is no exception. Gear does two things; it alters the look of your character by adding body armor, and it changes your fighting stats. There will apparently be hundreds of pieces to unlock. The ability to design a custom fighter that will look different from all others is really smart.
    [*][YT]D05QGuEKCfg[/YT]
    [*]

However, the changing of stats in a fighting game has a lot of people, especially competitive players, worried. Gear works as a leveling up system and you can have someone playing a stronger version of the same character. Boon has said that there will be ways to turn this off for online and tournament play. However your feel, the idea of having an RPG like drop system in this type of game does make it stand out.
All this information, consequently, has made me pretty excited for NRS’ next game. They’ve proven themselves with their last three games and they continue to try and push the genre. While they have made some missteps (MKX’s roster and online metagame) they still show great love for the DC source material. Injustice 2 releases in 2017 on the Xbox One and PS4 and will have a lot more to show off in the second half of the year. We’ll be there to spot it in the skies.

So I guess the armor will be the reasoning on how the characters can with stand the extreme combat. In the first game, they had a pill that gave everyone stronger bones and stuff.

to a degree yes the pill was for taking hit's from some like darkside or superman.

the armor is for preping for battle to a degree with ether enhancing the powers you have already or giving weapon's and ability that maybe an weakness for your opponent like somethat5 dehydrate aqua man and in aqua man case protect from what ever device that will do that to him. after picked up the gear to create i9t. and as shown with super girl you make the costume look how you want and customize the weapon and ability's(her case) as well so your version of batman (any colour you want him to wear) or super girl will your unique version. fight style and what they use as add on to their weapon's/ gadgets or for power users ability .

Expect NRS to be more aggressive with the DLC for this game. Looks like it will get more than 8 DLC characters and a pay to unlock model for the gear

http://www.ign.com/articles/2016/06...h-injustice-2?abthid=5768402b0572257d0f00000c

Injustice 2 will feature plenty of additional characters following the game's launch, as NetherRealm creative director Ed Boon has confirmed the studio is taking a "more aggressive" approach when it comes to DLC.

"One of the things we’ve been doing, trying to do more and more with every game… is to support it for a longer period of time," Boon told IGN. "With DLC characters, we’ve had four with Mortal Kombat, six with Injustice, eight with Mortal Kombat X, and with Injustice 2 we plan on continuing that pattern," he added, noting "it will certainly be more aggressive than we’ve been in the past."

Boon also spoke to the game's new gear system—which allows the player to customize their character—suggesting the team is considering a pay-to-unlock model for those who don't have the time to earn all of the rewards by just playing the game.

"We have ideas in our head of the things we’d like to consider but certainly haven’t like nailed down this is going to be the way to do it," he explained. "Ideally to me the whole purpose of this feature is customization, longevity and ongoing molding of your character so to speak."

Taking into account the fact that some players likely "won't want to invest months and months of their time" in order to gain the rewards, Boon said they're looking for a way to "cast the biggest net possible to get any many players into it as possible."

I don't mind paying for the gear. as long as we have the option to unlock all that stuff in game.

in reality, I'll probably only be playing 2 characters ( as of now, Superman and Supergirl ) 98% of the time. So, I won't mind paying for some cool gear for those 2.

for the rest of the characters, I'll just unlock what I can as I play them.

That statement seems to imply that you will be able to unlock those in-game, but I will wager that the armor will probably be be behind some ****** loot box system. That stuff is all the rage nowadays.

hmm......yeah. which is why, for the characters I actually care about and use, I won't mind paying for their gear. depending on the gear of course.

I just hope it's not like the system in Overwatch. That thing f'ing sucks. Granted it's all cosmetic stuff so it's not that big of a deal, but still.

I wonder if the gear system will even matter to me as I plan on sticking primarily to the tournament/competitive modes.

Got a preview of an video interview between Ed Boon and vic about injustice and boob's other projects in EPN.tv's the run down below at the start of the video. as vic said the full interview with Ed Boon will put up some time later.

EP Daily Rundown for June 20, 2016
It's good to be back home in the studio after a long week at E3!
To start, we've got exclusive new details on Injustice 2 from creative director Ed Boon, then we have the latest on the Supergirl TV series, Wonder Woman's 75th anniversary, great
news for anyone anxious to play Halo Wars 2, surprising details about that Warcraft movie, and finally, some very odd news about a Monopoly musical
Despite what might be happening elsewhere, Superman is alive and well on television. The heroic TV series Supergirl has cast its Superman for the upcoming second season. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Krypton’s son will be played by 28-year-old actor Tyler Hoechlin, best known for his role in Teen Wolf. This new version of Superman will join forces with his cousin Kara for several episodes throughout the show’s second season, and although Superman has technically already appeared on the show, this will be the first time he plays a big role and is fully visible. The new season of Supergirl premieres this October. The show is switching networks, moving from CBS to The CW, which means it will be on the same network as its related shows Arrow, The Flash, and Legends of Tomorrow. Hopefully that means we’ll get more crossovers

And another iconic DC superhero is celebrating her birthday in style. To honor the 75th anniversary of Wonder Woman, DC and Warner Bros are planning a slew of cool tie-ins and events that will take place throughout the year. First up, they’ll reprint the best Wonder Woman comics and release them in new box sets and hardcover editions starting in July, and they’re also working on new toys and licensed merchandise that start rolling out this month. At this year’s San Diego Comic Con, there will be a special Wonder Woman 75 panel celebrating her legacy, along with displays of all her different costumes at the big DC booth. A life-size replica of Wonder Woman’s invisible jet will also be on display at Comic Con, although it won’t actually be invisible, obviously. This follows similar 75th anniversary celebrations for DC’s other iconic heroes Superman and Batman. Don’t forget that the first big screen Wonder Woman movie is on the way, set to hit theatres in June 2017. Gal Gadot will reprise her role as the Amazonian princess, and we really, really hope the film will be better than Batman v Superman

The big screen Warcraft movie is looting the box office and breaking records in a very unusual way. The film was released last month and has now earned more than $377 million worldwide, making it the highest grossing video game movie of all time. The unusual part is that almost all of that money has been earned overseas. Most big budget American movies have an even split between domestic and international box office revenue,
but Warcraft has been totally lopsided, underperforming with a pitiful $37 million here at home, while making $340 million overseas. It’s doing particularly well in China, where it’s already one of the biggest western movies ever released in the country. It’s unclear why this is happening. It might be because the Warcraft games are generally more popular in Asia and other territories than they are in North America, and the fact that the movie was panned by American critics probably didn’t help. It’s also worth pointing out that film attendance in general has been going down in North America, while going up in other countries. I guess this means we’ll have to wait and see if the video game movie curse has ended.
You can watch my review of Warcraft by clicking the link on your screen or in the description below.
You’ve got a little more time to try out Halo Wars 2. An open multiplayer beta test for the game has been running on the Xbox One since last week and was scheduled to end today,

but now Microsoft has extended the beta until Wednesday. They say they’re doing this because of the high number of people who are still trying to play, and they want to make sure everyone gets a chance. Halo Wars 2 is being made by Total War developer The Creative Assembly. Like the original, it’s a real-time strategy game, and although the beta is only available on the Xbox One, the final version will be available on the console and the PC.
The gameplay does a nice job of blending console and PC gameplay styles, and the new technology of the Xbox One means it will run a lot more smoothly than its predecessor. Best of all, the game is part of Microsoft’s new Play Anywhere initiative, which means players can buy it once on either platform and get it for free on the other, with all your save files, game add-ons, and achievements automatically synced across both. It arrives in February 2017. I got a chance to try out Halo Wars 2 at E3 last week, and if you want to watch my first impressions video, you know what to do.
You might be seeing a lot more green houses and red hotels on Broadway. Variety reports that Hasbro is working on a live Broadway musical based on the board game Monopoly. Yep, you heard that right, they’re making a Monopoly musical. The project is in the very early stages of development so they haven’t yet decided on a musical style, story, or creative players. I guess they have to buy up all the railroads first. Given that there have already been Broadway shows based on The Lion King, Wizard of Oz, and Spider-Man, it doesn’t seem like that much of a stretch to make one based on a board game. Hasbro has already had great financial success adapting properties like Transformers and My Little Pony for film and television, so taking on Broadway will really make them a triple threat. A big screen Monopoly movie has also been in development for several years, although given how long it’s been struggling to get a greenlight, it’s unclear if that will ever pass Go and collect box office dollars. .
