I actually gasped when I saw that. Literally the only reason I'll tolerate Raiden's inclusion.
 
Raiden actually does look pretty cool. And the Black Lightning skin was a nice bonus!!

I am curious, though, will Black Lightning's Super differ from Raiden's?

The Netherrealm/MK stage Raiden teleports to, along with the MK dragon, would not make any sense for Black Lightning.
 
I rather Hellboy had been next. I think it would had actually been more fitting to release him in October since Halloween and demons.

Exactly. I'm happy that I can interchange them but now I have to buy black lightning with source crystals. If Black Lightning was the primary character and Raiden the skin I wouldn't even bother. Also it's gonna be weird as hell playing BL and having that be his super.

Edit: I just saw that BL comes with Raiden if you bought the ultimate edition (which I did) so yeah I'm not as mad as I was when Raiden was confirmed but I'd have still liked for BL to be the primary character.

I'm beginning to think that Black Lightning wasn't originally planned to be a skin and that NRS did this at the last minute because of the backlash when Raiden's silhouette was first shown.
 
I'm not sure they could turn over the development on a new character (even as a premier skin) since Raiden was announced, especially with the VA strike still going. I think they had this in queue, but the backlash got them to release BL for free for those who have the UE. Even that might have even been the plan from the start.

A 5 second spot after the main portion of the FP2 trailer that showed Jefferson's intro and noted the premier skin status would have stifled a lot (not all) of the noise. I get Raiden being the lead (more likely to sell), so I'm not all that bothered there, but a second MK character (in place of a more obscure DC character) was a huge downvote for me. We're pretty much groovy now though. :cool:
 
Quick question how does Hellboy play in the game and are his special moves cool?

October/Halloween would have also been perfect for another demon bird or another hellspawn. ;)

A 2nd MK character in place of Raven is never acceptable to me. Never I tell you!! :argh:

even though Raiden does look pretty ******* cool. :word:

but I'm still not buying any DLC until I know the remaining 3 and if Raven makes it in.

No Raven. No DLC buy.

Pretty cool of NeatherRealm to have Black Lightning as a premiere skin since I wasn't crazy for the addition of Raiden as DLC but I have to admit he looks like a lot of fun to play as.

Here's hoping we get to see more premiere skins soon.
 
Very cool that Black Lightening has a different special move. He actually seems to be his own character. I wasn't even a fan of Sub-Zero being in the game, but I have to admit that he is ridiculously fun to play.
 
Okay, they've done good. No more mk characters though.
 
I know it's a longshot but I would love to see maybe a new stage in the future, sort of like how with Mortal Kombat XL they included the Pit stage. Just gets a tad repetitive playing the same stages over and over again, for me at least.

he wasn't it was static I put that up a few pages ago some months ago here in this thread from comic books movies.com some time back. but they removed him cause most of us suspected it was due partly to the news of black lighting have a live acton show. all this was before radien was a thing for this game.
 
ARGH!!! :cmad::cmad::cmad:

I just found out that the last update screwed around with some of my rare gear stats. My Sub Zero had three equipment slots with rare gear around the +500 range and now the gear stats are less than half of that. Sure some Sub Zero rare gear was generated at weird stat levels compared to other character gear but affecting existing gear is really lame. The prefix for the affected gear is "Trained"...should be changed to "Nerfed"!

I'm almost afraid to go through the rest of my gear to check to see if anything else was affected. :csad:

I had a rare gear that was around 600 and it got hit hard too. I saw a general line about such listed in the patch notes.

The big thing coming out of that update it that it obliterated a lot of people's gear, level progress and abilities. Some got it back by reloading; some seem screwed until there's a NRS correction. I skated pretty much, but yeesh, not a good look.
 
It's been weeks since I've played this, but after hearing about what the recent update did, I'm thinking that I don't want to start playing again until after it gets fixed or something.

And also according to people that have this one on the X1, Raiden got released early.
 
Any guesses on when we will get the Ultimate Edition for this with DLC and new characters on disc?
