Did anyone else get a revenge of the Sith vibe in that Grunne and Panthro fight in pyramid? I thought it was a solid episode answered some questions about Panthro, Mumm-Ra , and Grunne. It looks like when Mumm-Ra came back he brought long lost tech with him or something like that.

MUCH better episode than last week. I'm glad that we're finally getting some answers. While I'm anxious to see Mum-Ra in action, I like that he's being built up as this major force - as he should be. Am I the only one who doesn't understand why some of the characters have tails, and some don't? Also, is Panthro supposed to be blind in his right eye? I noticed he doesn't have an iris, and there's no reflection of light like in his left eye.

I loved the sammophlange reference in this week's episode.

Now that we have another look at Mumm-Ra, I'm wondering if he's supposed to be an undead member of one of the established Third Earth races. He could be an undead Thunderan.

Failing that, he could be one of the mysterious hairless apes that the Cats have yet to meet.
is mum-ra supposed to be an ape?

maybe he'll do an aslan and become king of the planet rather than just thunderra in the end?

That seems to be the direction their heading .

BTW this weeks episode devoted to the Panthro-Grune backstory was good . I also like that Lion-O gained the respect of Panthro .

Totally, with a little Empire Strikes Back mixed in!

Is it me or is the new Mum-Ra gonna be more tech based then mystical with the way the pyramid was constructed.

It seems like he's really dangerous because he combines the two. He embraces tech and magic, so the Thundercats will have to do the same to combat him.

As for the episode: I wasn't too impressed. Panthro wasn't as cool as I was expecting; he was more of a surly jerkwad. I mean, he's basically just met up with some of the last survivors of his entire race after already spending years out in the wilderness. Crack a smile, dude. Also, you'd think one of the others would've mentioned something about how Panthro's not actually dead after all or the fact that they've found a Thundercat who not only doesn't hate technology but actually rocks a tank like it's no big deal. Instead they go back to the usual pattern: spend most of the episode on two or more of the Thundercats b****ing at each other, then resolve their conflict in one convenient event at the end.

I hope Panthro improves in future episodes and actually becomes a mentor figure to Lion-O again, like he sometimes was in the original series.

I enjoyed the episode. Though I am getting tired of Lion-O throwing around him being King now everytime someone doesnt do as he said. He doesnt have a kingdom to rule over now, you might aswell be just another average cat.

And I wish that it was Grunne who scarred Panthro and Panthro who took one of Grunnes sabertooths.

yea mum-ra reminded me of the emperor when he started laughing. i really like the grun and panthro history, better than i did the grun jaga. them being soldiers together was really cool to see.

It was a much better episode than last week's filler. We get the backstory between Panthro and Grune before the series premiere and why Grune did what he did when he betrayed the Thundercats. Along with this was the relationship between Lion-O and Panthro that didn't get off to a good start.

I hope someone who isn't a Cat points that out to Lion-O in a future episode if he tries to use his title as King against them. That idea about Grunne and Panthro is great, by the way. I would've preferred that too.

I hope we do get more of a backstory this time around.

In the original series, I believe Mumm-ra was basically a physical embodiment of evil. He was basically a demon. You couldn't really kill him or ever get rid of him because he's not even really alive.

Sammophlange for the win, can't believe they referenced it TWICE hahaha. I was the only one in my family that got that joke, such a nerd lol

Great episode, gave us a little more insight to Panthro, Mummra and Grune. Yes it looks like Mummra was the one to introduce everyone to tech, I wouldn't be surprised if Pantrho stole some of it to build his Thundertank.

Can't wait for the next episode, loving this show so much right now

What is a sammophlange? :woot:

The one thing I didnt get was Panthro talking about those crystals powering up machines in Thunderia. Wasnt Thunderia ignorant of high technology?

Asgard, Thundera was, but Panthro has clearly learned a thing or too.

Grune said it was the life blood of "Mumm-Ra's" army.

panthro reminds me of a old samurai with his hair.

Episode 4 was another good one. I really liked that Mum-ra's pyramid is now this technological thing rather than a mystical place. Wouldn't it have made more sense for Mum-ra to use Thundrainium to power his armies? Because now he would be just as adversely affected by the Thundrainium as the Thundercats. Of course, this is assuming that Thundrainium exists in this version.

I wish we had seen how Grune lost one of his saber tooth. I also wish they would touch more on the Thunderan fear of technology or at least its taboo. But that brings up the question, how did Tygra get a gun?

Why would the Thunderans have a name (Thundrillium) for the pink crystals if they didn't use technology or had any use for it in their kingdom? How would they know it even existed if there weren't any mines in their kingdom?

Does Panthro have a tail? It looked like in some shots he had a tail but in others he did not.

Tygra got the gun in EP1/2 (I think 2) from a lizard.
