I've been feeling the same way. Except I think the thing that's missing is good plots. You know, ones that don't revolve around Lion-O being an idiot.I don't know, there's something missing in this show. It's just not as good as I think it could be.
The difference is the original had encapsulated story lines within each episode, where as this series is one large overarching story line, I love both but I'm really enjoying this one so far, loved Mummra's PIMP MOBILE lol!!!up:
No, that ain't it. The original sucked balls as did most stuff in the 80's if you look at it without nostalgia goggles. But the concepts are amazing and if retooled, could be some of the best stuff ever. This just seems.....I don't know...souless.
maybe it's the burbles, lol.^ Makes you think about the who the "real" owners of the Eye are![]()

More than half the plots of the old series revolved around Lion-O being an idiot.I've been feeling the same way. Except I think the thing that's missing is good plots. You know, ones that don't revolve around Lion-O being an idiot.

That's the second thing that's really made me perk up and get interested in the show. (The first was the political/prejudicial nature of the Thundercats' conflict with the other races.) That's what I'd love to see more of from the show, instead of the done-in-ones that start with Lion-O and someone else arguing, continue with Lion-O being stupid, and end with Lion-O learning a super-obvious lesson due to some ridiculously convenient plot point. The only episode that's actually done that formula well to me is the one with the plant people. Also the implication of this episode, that Mumm-Ra used to be the ruler over the Thundercats, and commanded them to steal the Eye of Thundera or the War Stone as it was called here is pretty huge. The ancestors of Tygra, Claudus, and Lion-O looked to be Mumm-Ra's pawns.
