Good episode. Gotta love the Mumm-Ra-Mobile.

I don't know, there's something missing in this show. It's just not as good as I think it could be.

The difference is the original had encapsulated story lines within each episode, where as this series is one large overarching story line, I love both but I'm really enjoying this one so far, loved Mummra's PIMP MOBILE lol!!! :D:up:

I've been feeling the same way. Except I think the thing that's missing is good plots. You know, ones that don't revolve around Lion-O being an idiot.

No, that ain't it. The original sucked balls as did most stuff in the 80's if you look at it without nostalgia goggles. But the concepts are amazing and if retooled, could be some of the best stuff ever. This just seems.....I don't know...souless.

I disagree, I don't really want to get into it, but whatever, to each his own I guess!!!:o

well the original did make him earn being the lord of the thundercats by taking on each of his team. he had to beat them at their own game in order to lead them, proving he was worthy. in this one the sword had to verify it now he is the leader, but still isn't worthy enough to lead them.

Well, that's kind of dumb too. Being a leader isn't about literally being better than everybody else. :o

Good show but I agree with some that it could be better.

I enjoyed this latest episode, Journey To The Temple of Omens, as we see what the Thundercats can really do as the entire team and each member contributes to overcoming the temple's obstacles. It's also good to see Mumm-Ra in his muscular form as well as the Mumm-rRa tank. Jaga's fate is sealed and the Book of Omens contains nothing in the end. It was still a great episode.

Awesome episode. We finally got the full Mumm-Ra transformation. And Mumm-Ra even has his own mummy tank.

Glad we finally got to see the Tower of Omens as I was wondering what that toy playset from Bandai was about. I wonder where the Thundercats go from here now.

I don't know what is soulless about the show. It's one of the most well written and put together animated shows I can remember for a long time. This is the series I've waited to see since new MOTU went off the air almost a decade ago, and this show is even better than that.

Yeah, I don't agree with the soulless comment either.

While the last episode was just ok for me every single other episode along with the latest have been spectacular so far.

Also the implication of this episode, that Mumm-Ra used to be the ruler over the Thundercats, and commanded them to steal the Eye of Thundera or the War Stone as it was called here is pretty huge. The ancestors of Tygra, Claudus, and Lion-O looked to be Mumm-Ra's pawns.

^ Makes you think about the who the "real" owners of the Eye are :awesome:

I mean, kind of all bets are off now. It was referred to as a War Stone, so maybe a completely other race made it, and didn't exactly have peaceful intentions over it. The cats used to use technology, so I imagine after they rebelled or broke away from Mumm-Ra they regressed their society not to use technology because of Mumm-Ra and thought it was evil.

Anyway, the revelations are pretty startling and should make for a much more interesting story in the coming episodes. Thundercats are back to square one. Will they make the Tower their new base or Cat's Lair? Can they even make one at this point? I guess that would be pointless since they are on the run from Mumm-Ra and the Lizards.

Oh, I also LOVED seeing the Feliner in the episode that was awesome,:up: for those that don't know the Feliner was the flying cat vehicle in the episode, it was in the original series. Also loved Mumm-ra's Tank, I wasn't expecting that so it was cool to see, I hope they make it part of the toy line so I can add it to my collection!!!:awesome::up:

More than half the plots of the old series revolved around Lion-O being an idiot.

I liked this episode.

The backstory involving Mumm-Ra and the Thundercats ancestors is intriging.

Lion-O isn't an idiot. He's just a young and impetuous teenager.

That's the second thing that's really made me perk up and get interested in the show. (The first was the political/prejudicial nature of the Thundercats' conflict with the other races.) That's what I'd love to see more of from the show, instead of the done-in-ones that start with Lion-O and someone else arguing, continue with Lion-O being stupid, and end with Lion-O learning a super-obvious lesson due to some ridiculously convenient plot point. The only episode that's actually done that formula well to me is the one with the plant people.

Basically, I get the feeling from what I've seen so far that this show will be awesome in its second season--after the Thundercats have learned to work together and Lion-O's not as terminally stupid--but getting through the first season is gonna be a bit of a slog.
