Question....will Ma-Mutt be making an appearance in this series?

I agree YJ is very mediocre and this long pause hasn't done it any favours in my eyes. Not that bothered by it now to be honest.
Yeah, YJ's not as good as it could be. Kind of disappointing considering it's Greg Weisman. Some will say "Well it's a team/ensemble show, it takes a while to iron those out", but Gargoyles was a team/ensemble show that had a much smoother, more natural start than YJ's had. Maybe it'll get better as it goes along.

Six weeks without Thundercats is gonna be a drag.

To be honest, that's kinda how I feel about this show, too.

It had a great start, but things are getting more weak. The other cats are not as developed as Lion-O. Lion-O himself is an unlikeable brat that conveniently forgets whatever lessons he learns each episode. Grune's motivation for his betrayal sucked. The racism angle is not as well-handled as I thought it was going to be. Panthro was actually right in attempting to take charge of the group (something YJ did wisely, if a bit awkward), and some lazy writing at times (Mumm-Ra at daylight, finding the book temple in a rather stupid manner, Panthro not being able to swim). Add the stupid use of "whiskers!" once per episode (At least Ms. Martian's catch-phrase is a tick she gets to keep her TV persona) and I'm left wondering why is this show so praised compared to YJ, nevermind that it has several of the same flaws.

I'm still watching, and last week's Drifter episode was an improvement. But I'm not going to claim it's superior to YJ yet.

Six weeks without Thundercats is gonna be a drag.

When you find yourself creating "new episodes" with the action figures, voices and all, seek professional help.

I've been there myself, back when the new He-Man was cancelled in 2004. :(

I didn't know this was going on a break. What the heck. That's stupid.

I am sad.

Don't worry #ThunderCats fans, the cats are back next Friday! Had to make room for the one-hour season premiere of #CloneWars!

Thank god.

I swear, if I ever find the person who perpetuated "the six-week hiatus" rumor, I'm going to strangle him! :cmad:

Yeah, I think they might be playing reruns though. Not sure, but when I go forward on my guide to next Friday and see Thundercats it doesn't have a plot and it says it first aired on 7/29. Don't be surprised if that's what happens.

Reruns for six weeks or so until the release of the first volume of the series on DVD.

Sorry guys, this is just how Cartoon Network is. Let's just hope this doesn't turn into six months.

Couldn't they at least end on a good episode? The last episode they decide to end this "run" with is the one where Lion-O loses the sword?! I was hoping for a cliffhanger that had to do with the overall story arc...

I think the reason they ended on this was because it was the end of the first DVD release which is the first 8 episodes. So where they stopped here is what will be on the first Thundercats DVD release. They will start again when that release comes out.

New episode info. Thundercats returns later in October. Looks like the Berbils episode is next:

ThunderCats
Fri Oct 28 - 8:30pm - 109 - Berbils
Fri Nov 4 - 8:30pm - 110 - Sight Beyond Sight

they've kind of done an homage to mamutt. not a real dog, but mummra had jaga in a dog like apparatus. i don't think we'll b seeing an actual dog in the series. this was in episode 6.

Oh wow I didn't even notice that was a dog's mouth that Jagga was being held in. In that case then you're right they probably won't give us the actual dog thats why we got this easter egg as it were.

while i enjoyed mummra's relationship with mammut, i'm kind of happy there's no actual dog in it. what i like about the new series is that they're giving it a serious, more mature tone with hints of homages sprinkled throughout. i think this series has done a good job of taking out the hokey from the original series. like having snarf be more of a pet, or talking about "samophlange" lol. i'm lovin it :yay:

Aww, they are cute and their voices sound like in the original. I really like that they turn into balls to go around. Cool!
