The TMNT Trailer Thread!

They'll gripe about ****ing anything and everything.:funny:
And they will gripe if the Technodrome was in the movie and not looking like how they want it, When you take into account there been other versions of it. hah

Makes me wonder how much "Ninja" Turtles we'll actually get in this Movie. They seem to have upped the Turtles' physical prowess, making them literally mutant "super" heroes, judging by Karai and the Foot flying into the walls and ceiling of the subway station. They are getting literally tossed around like ragdolls.

In terms of martial arts I wouldn't worry too much.

From what is said amongst the more ardent that know about these things one of the only contributions Kevin Eastman when he was re-hired late in production is a big push for certain scenes to resemble The Raid movies.

Obviously the movie would never go that intense but considering Kevin keeps mentioning that I'd say his push was listened to.

I don't mind the turtles being stronger than humans. I've always figured as much but I have to agree that this level where they can toss metal containers around bothers me. I've read comics for years and am used to power creeps and power seeps but it'd be rather hard for me to swallow the turtles absolutely devastating Foot Ninja in one scene and have them be a genuine challenge in another. We know three of the turtles get captured and unless they have some special weapon or tactic I'm wondering how they could possibly take down those turtles.

Some people here talk about the new TMNT movie like it was meant to be a new The Dark Knight trilogy.

Why shouldn't it be?

Not only would it fit that mode well - in the sense of the world around the turtles and Splinter being quite realistic but the comics have tackled fairly heady themes

I realize that people want more humor mixed in so it would never happen but this movie did have its genesis as Batman Begins-esque comic adaption until it went to Platinum Dunes.

Exploding and falling over buildings? I thought it was an antenna? I imagine in all the turtles battles with the giant mutated freaks and or robots or technodromes and krang they fight such a thing would happen...

I'm not that familiar with turtle lore but it's really all about stealthy ninjas?

The ninja aspect is a big part of it. The film will go over the top with explosions. I think we all expected that to happen. I'm not worried about the damage though, that wouldn't make or break the film for me. It's all about how much I enjoy seeing the characters on screen. If Shredder and Kraang want to blow up NYC , that seems reasonable based on the type of villains they were in the cartoon.

This is true. I'm not digging the massive size , but I've heard some stuff that has me scratching my head. It's going to be interesting to see how people react to the new film.

I really don't mind that they are so big. But with that in mind, wasn't it common in the comics for Raphael to pick up a man hole cover and fling it like a frisbee? I always thought that the mutagen gave them extra strength than what the most elite human could ever master, and that's why the boys were so good against a small army.

They never seemed extraordinarily strong to me. Just on the same level as characters like Batman, Daredevil and the like, who all can handle dozens of enemies by themselves. They still get trashed by Shredder after all, who is just a mere human with no enhancements. In most incarnations at least.

I thought they handled the dramatic aspects well in the 1990 film . I do want want quality , but at the same time these films can't take themselves too seriously. I'd like to see them tackle some of the darker issues , but not to dwell on them.

Oh, I thought the reason why the Shredder always got the best of them was because he released some sort of gas to slow them down and that's why he wore the mask, so the gas didn't effect him?

I showed my mom the trailer and she seemed to like it... but she asked me why the turtles were so big

Shredder would throw the gas and run away.

I've showed several people and they also remarked about the size. I feel vindicated. Maybe these monsters will grow on people and we get a good franchise out of it. The new cartoon is very good from what I've seen. I'd like to see the turtles endure like other heroes.

I think this could be the push the Turtles need to stay relevant on the big screen

I want to know how in the Hell they manage to squeeze through those tiny man-whole covers when they're that gigantic.

In the 1990 movie, the Shredder literally appears in front of them and proceeds to out-fight them. No tricks, not technology, no special powers, he was just flat-out BETTER than them. See for yourself, it's actually a pretty cool fight:

The same way they got into the manholes in the original movie....production made larger manholes to accommodate the suits. But who said that they were going to use manholes? Why couldn't they use abandoned subway tunnels??

I liked what little I saw.Yeah, the Turtles are a little too big for my liking and the faces are a bit...whatever,but the tone seems right, and that's what matters most.

I'm hoping for a "Mandarin" type solution to the "White Shredder" problem,eventually.....

That was a joke, wasn't that clear?

Well, it seems to me, when it comes to cartoons and movies, once the Shredder gets taken out for good, the stories start to lose steam. And, it also seems like we will forever be stuck with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, when I think it would be nice that they at least celebrate their 21st birthdays.

In the Nick toon, it's going on halfway through second season, and the boys are still 15.

Watching the new nicktoons show with the car chases(bay) and floating aliens ships(bay) and laser beams and explosions(bay), robots(bay) giant creatures and what not.

I wouldn't have guessed this was a ninja assassin like movie brand incapable of the stuff in this trailer. Then again I don't know that much about the lore.

Nah that's pretty much it. ;)
