The TMNT Trailer Thread!

Watching the Trailer again, I have to say I'm noticing quite a lack of subtlety. And the sizes of the Turtles are starting to worry me again. Take Leo for example, when he lands in front of April. The brick stones are cracking beneath his feet when he lands. That's not a Ninja like, graceful landing. Or using their own bodies as projectile weapons, when Raph took out the jeep.

Makes me wonder how much "Ninja" Turtles we'll actually get in this Movie. They seem to have upped the Turtles' physical prowess, making them literally mutant "super" heroes, judging by Karai and the Foot flying into the walls and ceiling of the subway station. They are getting literally tossed around like ragdolls.

Maybe we should call them Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles again.

Not a bad point or suggestion.

Noticed the stone even cracks when Mikey lands behind April. Guys, I'm now really starting to worry about the Ninja aspect here. Did they really turn all 4 Turtles into massive brutes, that crack the ground beneath them when they land? Where's the goddamn Ninja grace?

Buildings being toppled and stuff like that doesn't really bother me. They've done massive gang wars in the TMNT comics before (including the recent IDW Cityfall storyline), and the 2012 series had a freaking alien invasion of NYC as it's season 1 climax, so it's not like the franchise has never gone large-scale before.

You're correct, I did. It's been awhile since I've seen the 80's show so it simply slipped my mind.

I haven't kept up with this Thread. For myself, I can say I never wanted this to be the next TDK. But I don't want this to be the next Transformers either. Right now though, I don't know what direction it his headed. Just from what the Trailer revealed so far, it seems it won't be as insulting as the Transformers Movies. That can always change though, with additional revealed footage.

You know people want to pick and choose what they want from the 80s series, the comics and the original movies....no buildings falling down, no noses, no lips, no beaks, no this, no that....some people want them to have beaks and some people don't, some want destruction, some don't. I'd love to see the Technodrome rolling through the streets of NYC. I think that would be cool

Maybe it was just for effect. But, they do look pretty heavy.

Exploding and falling over buildings? I thought it was an antenna? I imagine in all the turtles battles with the giant mutated freaks and or robots or technodromes and krang they fight such a thing would happen...

No it's not. It's mostly about brotherhood! The Ninja aspect is just a bonus.

haha...oh yeah, glad you mentioned that! Her apartment and antique store were destroyed in the first movie but yet building destruction doesn't belong in TMNT. You know what DOESN'T belong buildings filling up with water and it not leaking out!

I had an impression they acted more or less sneaky until April busted them. Smoke pellets, acting in the dark, I don't know... But when they decided to step out of shadows, there was no point in worrying about damaged bricks... They're huge in comparison to previous incarnations, but not too much. Check set pics. Megan Fox is relatively short woman. Even on heels.

Also shells and muscles make them look larger than they are.

Yeah, It would make for a very cool climax for a 3rd act of the movie. How about something like the Technodrome from Turtles Forever.

April probably had no clue that Leo was up on that water tower until he wanted her to see him and & Mikey dropped out of who the **** knows where and made her jump.

I expect to see the technodrome at some point. I can't imagine many fans would gripe about that.
