1) X-Men (Konami, Arcade)
2) X-Men: Children of the Atom (Capcom, Arcade)
3) X-Men: Mutant Apocalypse (SNES)
4) X2: Wolverine's Revenge (GBA Only, console version is horrific)
5) X-Men Legends
i can't really vote cuz the only ones i've played are xmlegends and xmlegends 2, and marvel vs. capcom. i also played one of the games on the sega game gear, but i dont remember which
5 - Wolverine's Revenge, GBA: I prefered the GBA edition to the mainstream platform one. Less frustrating, and you didn't have to start the entire level over each time you died.
4 - X-Men Legends II: Fun game, but the pointless continuity screwiness was, well, pointless and distracted from the fun.
3 - X-Men: Children of the Atom: This made arcade fighters cool again. Great cast, awesome backgrounds, decent challenge.
2 - X-Men Legends: Better than the sequel, less screwy on the continuity though it still had its head-scratching moments.
1 - X-Men 2: The Clone Wars: Best X-Men game ever, hands down. Awesome cast, awesome powers with no limit on how often you could use them, plus it holds claim to being the first comicbook-based game EVER that let you play as a villain. No other game has that dignity.
Honorable Mentions:
X-Men: Children of the Atom
X-Men vs Streetfighter (Arcade since it had the awesome tag feature missing from consoles...)
X-Men Mutant Academy 1 & 2, Next Dimension
1. X-Men Legends (best game ever)
2. X-Men Legends II: Rise of Apocalypse
3. X-Men vs. Street Fighter
4. X-Men: Mutant Academy II
5. Marvel vs Capcom II
