Figured this would be the best place to talk about this.

During the last 3 weeks I've been working as an extra in an upcoming movie thats being filmed in Arizona called Kids In America. Coincicidently Topher Grace was the star of the movie. So basically every day I was working on the set, I got to see him. Didnt meet him, but from what I could tell he was a pretty nice guy.

Well one of the days I was working, there were a lot of crew working. So when we had lunch in the break room, the crew side was full. Topher and a friend of his visiting on the set decided to sit at a fairly empty table, which I happened to be sitting at. He sat next to me, didnt say anything though, and started talking to his friend.

What does this have to do with SM3? He briefly talked about working on Spider-man 3 saying to his friend that he played basically the evil version of Spider-Man and how he loved playing Venom. Topher also mentioned how it was hard to talk in the mask, so in post production he had to record his lines over again. Also on another day, they were shooting a scene were Topher had to make his way through a crowd. The director joked around saying the easiest way Topher should do it is by webslinging to the center.

Yea I know its not really that big of a deal, just felt like sharing what Topher had to say about the role.

Hey man, that's awesome. I heard about that movie, actually. Any other details you can disclose, or is it forbidden?

About the movie? Well it takes place in the 80s and most of the movie takes place in a Labor Day house party. Theres a funny part in the movie where Dan Fogler snorts cocain and par takes in a dance off against another guy. I thought the scene was really funny. Plus I have a couple of chances of being seen on the screen. One scene Im looking foreward to is where this girl starts choking on a cherry from her drink and starts giving the heimlick meouver to herself by ramming herself into a stairwell. I happen to be standing right next to her when this is happening so Im crossing my fingers.

Sweet, you got any pics of yourself? I know it's a long way off, but I'd like to look for you if I ever see the movie...just to say I remotely interacted with someone in a movie.

So regarding the movie, is it more toward the slapstick humor (as the scenes you describe suggest), or is there some...I don't know, depth to it?

Its a comedy/drama teen like movie(even though I think were supposed to be college graduates). Heres more info
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0810922/

I got like 2 pics of myself I took in the lunch room on my space at the bottom.
I'll PM it to you

See, to me "teen movie" has a negative connotation. But I'll probably check it out anyway. Any idea of the release date?

Well its the only thing I could think of to identify it, even tho as I said were supposed to be college graduates so we're not teens. They havent decidded on a release date but Im predicting fall/winter this year.

Well, I consider something a teen movie if the target audience is obviously teens, regardless of the age of the characters (which is usually teen-early twenties).

Ultimate Venom, how great is extra work dude, not too bad pay for little work and you can get some really great food if the production is a good budget, it can get pretty repetitive doing the same scene numerous times and it does take forever to reset the stage but take an ipod and your set.

Unfortunately the work is quite irregular, but a great time if your doing it as a one off

Wow, sounds like you had a pretty good day. :yay: Did you get a handshake or anything? And by the end of Spidey 3, Eddie should've had a restraining order.

Tidbit: My art teacher did extra work in the film Little Chenier. She played Miss Ebbie. Said the food was great.

Well for what your doing, the pay is pretty good and the food for the most part was good too plus its its free, so no worries there. But yea it does get tiredsome having to the same scene over and over, especially when your an extra cause no one gives a crap about your needs.

The only thing that sucked was that we were filming at night from 6 pm to 7am the next morning, somtimes longer. The first week was bad cuz I had Mid-Terms to study for at ASU, so this was interferign a lot. But then I had spring break, so all was good.

Nope, the closest thing I got was him brushing against my back trying to get through a crowd lol

No cacoon, in the trailers it is clear he is devoured by the symbiote standing.

Oh well.
Let me tell you...The trailers can be highly misleading...The effects that we see in the trailers now is just what they've edited to show us at the stage that they put the trailer together. This means that it's possible that the CG that we've been seeing in the trailers, could be several months old. It may not look exactly the same in the finished movie.

I've been fortunate enough to get early starts and shoot through the afternoon most times

Wow, awesome looks like ChibiKiriyama was right about the teeth mutation thing. The stills look intense, especially during the suit on sequence; good lord does it look terrifiyng. That's a vibe I never really got with the comics, sure there'd be some uncertainty and shivers from the stuff pouncing on you, but this looks like such a violent act of bonding.
