The "Ultimate DC" RPG Signup/OOC Thread

Finally put Blackrock in action, and I also took the liberty of introducing Ultimate Hank Henshaw in a cameo role. :D

So sorry to interupt this thread guys, but where is this pic from? I just had a bat-attack. This is the best Batman pic I've ever seen, and my ideal perception of the character! I must know where it's from! Is it just a one off piece of art done for Wizard or some fanart? I hope there is a comic based on this design.

PM me please.

That's from the Wizard "Ultimate DC" article, and pretty much the only re-design of theirs that I liked (though their Flash did look pretty cool)

Working on Creeper's hit list, who else besides Falcone are mob bosses in Gotham? Has Maroni been mentioned? Or Rupert Thorne?

More for me to torture and then kill, on a side note. I'm having way too much fun as Creeper and may just blow off Cap. all together.

Good post, MB. A depressed Batman is always fun.

The minute he puts on black makeup and listens to My Chemical Romance, I'll have Creeper break his spine. :cmad:

Character You Would Like To Play: The Joker

Basic History Of The Character: (I'm gonna ignore most of what JRK did in his three posts.) Nobody knows who he is, where he came from, or what his motives are. In fact, the only reason his existence is known, is that a playing card was found near the murdered body of crime lord, Charles Sol. A playing card now in the possession of Dinah Lance, a young private detective. But the Joker, as he's known, has bigger plans in mind. Much bigger plans in mind.

Three Reasons Why You Have Chosen That Character:

1. He's the Joker, one of the best characters created in the past century.

2. JRK hasn't posted since June, so he's available, and I'm not going to pass up a chance like this.

3. Master Bruce asked me to.

What Do You Plan On Doing With This Character As A Person:I want to make the Joker someone scary, and get into situations where you're not sure whether or not to be scared or to laugh.

Two Complete Sentances In Proper English Explaining What You Can Bring To This RPG (As A Player): I bring you love. It's bringing love, kill it!

Oh my god...Joker vs. Creeper. I had a nerdgasm

I'm trying to speed up the solo part of my Brainiac arc, just so's we get a little more action going on outside of Gotham. Right now, it's starting to feel a bit like just the "Ultimate Batman" RPG. Just sayin'.

Also, this may be a bit of a weird question, but has anyone started playing as Wonder Woman yet? She's one of the only major JLAers that I haven't seen in one form or another, and I'd very much like to get my hands on one of the Big Three. (plus it'll help my regular writing, since I've never been too comfortable writing for women)

I take offense to that, good sir! :cmad:

...But yeah. I get what you're sayin'. Even I can stand only so much of the Bat-verse. :o

We had a player that portrayed her earlier on in the game, but he hasn't posted in quite some time. The earlier pages of the game have Diana posts, but that's it.

Thanks Brucie! Time to give this game an enema! HaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHa!!

BTW, Andy, Diana is tougher to write than your average woman.

Very true, but then again, most superheroes are tougher to write than most average people.

The more alien their way of thinking is, the harder they are to write, especially from first person. I tried to write a sample post for Bizarro in first person once, it hurt my brain.

Odd; I was thinking of taking up Bizarro myself before I decided to go with Brainiac.

But yeah, I definitely know what you're saying. It's very hard to adapt to a mindset that's foreign to the way you yourself think. Throw in the gender difference as well, and that's a whole other degree of difficulty. Then again, I do like to challenge myself.

So what's the rule on multiple characters? Cuz I would like the Al Ghul Family to do some business with Lex...

Might as well make it official.

Character You Would Like To Play: Wonder Woman (Diana)

Basic History Of The Character:

(From Darth Wolverine's run as WW)

Diana is the product of a relationship between Queen Hippolyta and a common man on the other side of Themyscira called Steve Trevor. She was raised as a princess, and taught to be prejudiced against men by both her embittered mother and her trainer and teacher, Artemis. A small girl, she found herself lacking in strength, speed, stamina, and the like. As such, she was treated with specialized gasses and other substances that boosted these qualities far beyond any expectations. Due to this and her skill with Amazonian weaponry, she was chosen to be the Themysciran ambassador. This translated to the name she currently goes by...Wonder Woman.

------

After her arrival in America, she found herself engaging in a battle with a vicious monster who called himself 'Lobo.' Aiding her was a man, a 'Superman,' he called himself, whose abilities seemingly outshined her own. Although Lobo was defeated, Diana barely survived the encounter. Her Amazonian skills had failed to subdue the male beast. It was a rude awakening, as was her being refused to meet with several key citizens of Metropolis afterwards.

In the time since, she has done what she can to better understand the workings of the world of men, and is beginning to believe that perhaps the oppressive teachings of Themyscira towards the other gender are wrong. However, she would never admit such sentiments before her mother or any of the courts of her homeland.

After returning briefly to her home to better equip herself, Diana has once again set out for America, now more determined than ever to reach an understanding between Themyscira and the world of men.

Three Reasons Why You Have Chosen That Character:

1. She's one of the Big Three, and I've always felt that Wonder Woman always kind of gets put on the back-burner in comparison to Superman and Batman. I'd like to bring a Diana that can stand on equal footing with Clark and Bruce.

2. Maybe it's just me, but I get an almost Nazi-esque vibe from the earlier incarnation of WW in this game (men are inferior, women are superior, etc) That's fine if she's supposed to be a villain, but she's not. Hopefully I can keep some of the elements of Darth Wolverine's version, while making her a more likeable character as well.

3. I like to write fanfics, but have never really been satisfied with how my female characters sound. I figure playing as one full-time will help me with that.

What Do You Plan On Doing With This Character As A Person: Whereas the first version of Diana in this game was extremely sexist and arrogant, I'd like to have her come back with some serious cracks in that armor. After getting her pride wounded from the fight with Lobo, she's starting to doubt some of the teachings of Hippolyta and Artemis. So this time around, she's coming to learn as well as teach.

Two Complete Sentances In Proper English Explaining What You Can Bring To This RPG (As A Player): As I've said before, I have a lot of experience in role-playing, and can offer a lot in terms of character, and also in terms of technical writing. I'm also a student of drama, so I have a pretty good handle on how to build dramatic tension, or at least I'd like to think I do.

Just a heads up, before too long, I'm going to begin having Ion's humanity slowly come back. If anyone has any suggestion or would like to get into some knee deep **** with Ion just let me know.

...Which is the only reason that I don't want to accept this at the moment. Because I'm not sure that you're aware that by playing Diana, you'd be giving up Brainiac, who you've worked hard on so far. I don't want to rid you of that unless you really do want to play Diana over Brainiac.

Whoops. Didn't know we couldn't play multiple characters in this one.

Thank you. I'm trying to ride the line between funny and scary, I hope I continue to please.

Gotham's not big enough for two dyed skinned whackos.
