Character You Would Like To Play: Ultimate Stephanie Brown/Spoiler

Basic History Of The Character:

As a young stock broker on the make, Stephanie's life is finally looking up after all these years, the mother of an eight year old girl. She's hung up her cloak for the last time. As she studies her life the twenty-four year old examines, the twists and turns she's taken over these years. At fifteen she was a scared pregnant girl, and by sixteen she was a Mom. This motherless child, a mother herself faced the world alone.

Stephanie's father, Arthur Brown, the third rate criminal known as the Clue Master, has never been a real part of her life, if anything he's only made things worse. So now she tries to keep everything together, for the true love of her life, her daughter, Lyle Simone Brown, a musically gifted child whose passions are the inspirations that keep her Mother together.Spoiler, an old name Stephanie created when she was fourteen in her efforts to 'spoil,' her idiotic father's attempts at being a villain. Still, she remained Spoiler until she was a mere eighteen, when several higher ranking villain were able to kid nap Stephanie's daughter. After that, she put Spoiler away, the cloak in the closet.

Alas, the call was made for her services at twenty, Stephanie was much more than the mere utility belt, she was a street fighter you could say. After all, a girl who grew up on the streets did know how to fight, boxing, kick boxing, Judo and the basic fighting skills. She's not a top level fighter, no, and she's always known that its her cleverness and ingenuity that saves her half the time. But again, she was no mere purple hooded girl with the mask, and a utility belt. No she simply had a small pouch, of small grenades, flash bangs, smokes, sleepers, fragments, and other theatrical grenades that she would use. During this call, she discovered she had one more skill... racing, she found herself behind the wheel of a Nissan 240 SX, in a street race and here she smoked the competition. In love with the sport, she's kept the 240 for the occasional challenge.

Fighting beside some of finest, she again put her cloak to rest, focusing on her career and her daughter. But, as she works this city she learns that Spoiler is still needed, she struggles with the desire to battle crime, and live her life as it is. Alas, she keeps the cloak in the closet at twenty-four an up and coming stock broker, she's just moved to the more elite part of Gotham, hoping to provide a better life for Lyle.

Three Reasons Why You Have Chosen That Character:

1. I'd like to take what DC wrote about her, and really expand upon it, so I did a rewrite on her character, hoping to bring some more light to a character that deserves the right to co-exist with the other boys and girls, rather than be monkey chunked into the refrigerator.
2. I always found Stephanie to be very interesting, as a character, and while I didn't collect her appearances, I did admire the ones she was in particularly in the Birds of Prey, and Batgirl. Always, felt that she was someone that could've been the 3rd Black Canary, if given the chance to expand that far, and who knows.
3. Spoiler, she's a good starter alias, and I wanted to grow Steph into a new one, one thats... more adult for her. Secondly, this is a lower rated character and not much is known and thought I'd really go about expanding that information. Thirdly, this is really nerdy, there was this board that was about and everyone had a secret nickname on their profile given to them by the administrator. I felt left out, and she said that I would be the 2nd Spoiler, thus my small appreciation for Miss Brown.

What Do You Plan On Doing With This Character As A Person (IE: How are you 'utlimizing' him or her?):

Does writing that character history count? [Insert nervous laugh here] Ah, moving on, the Ultimate Stephanie Brown grows up from Spoiler into a new alias I have yet to determine appropriate for her. Also, here she's taking different turns, as far as her character goes, this is already a huge departure from the DC U. Right now I just want to develop her, shape her, move her into this woman that is strong like she was meant to be. Oh and if you haven't noticed, I haven't mentioned who her Mother is, and I haven't said who Lyle's Dad is. I'm leaving that open for future prospects, and are issues that Steph has to deal with.

As a player, I come from a well developed role playing teer as someone who has ran, managed, and wrote in numerous Star Trek RPGs; so I understand the nature of posting and the paragraph structures as well. You're not getting a newbie, your getting quite the oldie actually and as a player I am detailed with the characters that I play, and I've been known to create complex back stories and bring depth. I've continuously studied Stephanie and I continue to study her as well as characters outside the DC U who have a similar back story, or character traits.

What Fonts Do You Plan To Use For Your Character’s Speech? (Makes the roster look better): Palatino Linotype for Spoiler, Georgia for Stephanie Brown. Both will be in bold.


Please Provide A Small Sample Post In The Format You Wish To Portray Your Character In:

The early morning strode in, the sunlight peeked through the curtains, pouring over her soft skin. Blonde hair falling over her face, her body laying against the bed, as it pressed against her, the wrinkles rippling like the sand around her. She moved to her side, the pillow creasing, the small sound of her body moving seemed to echo throughout the small apartment. It was a Saturday, as Lyle was very aware of that small fact, tip toeing across the hall.

Her small eyes peered through the crack between the wooden door, and the door way that led into her Mother's bedroom. Her lips inwardly held as she bit the bottom, hoping not to make a sound, Lyle could see her Mom's scars, she quietly moved across the lush carpet her small feet making small little prints. Slipping through, that small opening, that was the space between the door and doorway, she looked around. The modern clock on the wall, in its black ominous square, large numbers boldly facing Lyle down. The girl noted the curtains' opening, and the black dresser that she stood right next to.

Stephanie's comfort was unsettled, her mind floated to her worries over the bills, and what her co-worker had stated about her lack luster love life. Her face crunched with such thoughts, but a smile crawled along. She could hear her daughter breathing, the sound of the tip toeing that had become trademark in her home. With her eyes tightly shut, Steph waited, and just as Lyle pounced on the bed, she turned, and playfully shouted, “BOO!”

“AAAAHHH!” Lyle was startled, laughing to herself, Stephanie, pulled her daughter into a hug as they sat in her bed.

Kissing the top of her forehead, Stephanie asked, “what are you doing monkey bean?”

“Trying to scare you,” replied Lyle who looked down as if she failed somehow.

With that motherly smile on her face, she held Lyle still, “you almost had me, don't worry one of these days you'll get me.” Another kiss to the girl's forehead, “besides you know you don't have to do that to me.”

“I know, but its fun.” Lyle flashed a signature smile, as her Mom tickled her, “Mommy stop it!”

“What? I can't hear you, monkey bean, what was that?”

“MOMMY! STOP!”

Stephanie, couldn't help but laugh as she continued to tickle her daughter, and in this moment this simple moment, she cherished it, soon Lyle wouldn't even come into her room, soon enough Lyle wouldn't even consider her Mom anything other than that. Running her hands through her daughter's hair, brushing back those dirty blonde bangs, “hey how about we go get something to eat... oh say, pancakes?”

“YEAH!”

Morning swept through, the pancakes were had, and the Browns were in their car, the old Honda Civic, as grocery shopping had to be done, along with bills, and new clothes for Lyle. They were at a stop light, as Stephanie looked over, she saw the police department, and the part of her that yearned for the days that had her running across roof tops, swinging into action... they seemed so far away. She was a teenager, and most of the time she stopped the petty thieves, or even that man she calls father. The light turned green, and Stephanie hit the gas pedal, wanting as far away from this reminder as possible.

Do You Know How To Post Pictures On The Hype?:

Hmmm, yes I do, and this is my Stephanie Brown, Scarlett Johansson. I realize some of the errors in the manip, and it was something I just threw together. Hopefully I'll have more success on her next one.

P.S.: I can rewrite her crime fighting and minimize it, but in all reality she really was just someone who scared the would-be jewel thieves, muggers, car jackers and the like, nothing huge unless asked. She's distanced herself from the lifestyle, of a vigilante. Again, I can rewrite that aspect of her, she is very low-key as far as crime fighting but she'd still like to be back out there.

Hmm. Okay, it's an interesting turn of pace, and one I (and hopefully the other Gotham vigilantes) can easily work with. So, that said...

Well, I just got some rather sad news.

It seems MST3k recently got a job promotion that will limit his time online, and added to that, his persuit of a master's degree and the responsibilities as a family man, he won't be able to continue in this or any other RPG's for the time being. He's asked that I pull The Atom and Giganta off the roster.

I won't do it yet, until they're written out of their current situations by, respectively, NPCing through myself, EBJ, and Andy. After that, they're off, pending MST's eventual (if ever) return.

He wishes you all the best of luck, and said he really enjoyed working with all of you.

I really have no preference between them, given that my third character after Two-Face will be heavily connected to each.

But if I had to choose, I'd say Raven. She has alot of dark and mystical qualties that you could work with in making her more of an Ultimate character.

Personally I'd go with Beast Boy. But that's just me, since I wouldn't be able to write a Raven worth crap.

My fear with Raven is the lack of interaction possibilities. Plus, in between arcs, I wouldn't know what to do with myself.

Then go with Cyborg. He's a character you've always seemed to be a fan of.

Hell, if you want to go really Ultimate - make him a her.
