Screenname: Johnny Blaze
Character You Would Like To Play: J'onn J'onnz, the Martian Manhunter
Basic History Of The Character: The last survivor of the Martian race, J'onn was accidentally transported to Earth at the end of his planet's civil war. A war which wiped out all life on Mars. J'onn has been living on Earth since the fifties under the guise of John Jones, a private investigator in South Florida.
There he makes a decent living helping the less fortunate as Mr. Jones, but he sometimes moonlights as a mythical vigilante figure the papers have dubbed the Manhunter from Mars.
J'onn has come to terms with being the last Martian in the universe, but the recent Rover missions gave him hope that somehow his people might have survived. His hopes were dashed however when they reported back with no signs of any intelligent life present on the planet.
Devestated once more, and hating himself for even thinking there was hope to begin with, J'onn has given up his vigilante and detective life and has been stuck in a bottle of whiskey ever since.
J'onn was eventually approached by a Mr. Black and recruited other heroes for his Project: Justice. But the Martian opted to return to his detective work, but was recently attacked and transported away by the villainous Despero.

It was a hot and muggy Thursday night in Fort Lauderdale. The Green Iguana, a local tiki bar on the Fort Lauderdale strip, was packed with the usual tourists and it's usual group of local patrons.
One such patron sat in his usual seat, in his usual shadowy corner, drinking his usual glass of Jack Daniels on the rocks. Nobody else sat near him. Even the tourists who had no idea who he was gave him a wide berth.
Maybe is was the smell of sweat and booze that exuded from his pores that did it?
Or perhaps it was a simple telepathic maneuver to make everyone avoid him?
Whatever it was, J'onn J'onnz, the last Martian, had the privacy he sought. He was in his human guise, naturally, of former PI John Jones as he sat and drank his drink. His brown trench coat sat next to him in empty stool, the rest of his clothes, the dress shirt with the rolled up sleeve, the undone tie, and the cacky pants he was dressed in were actually part of his body.
Like all Martians, J'onn was a shapshifter of the highest order. So it was not difficult for him to mimic the appearance of the cliche' detective dress.
J'onn downed his drink, and called to the bar tender,
"Denny, give me another."
"Right with you, Mr. Jones", replied Denny as he tended to a group of people out for a good time.
J'onn sighed. It had been a while since the Mars missions confirmed what he feared. That all his people were truly dead. It was a feeling he dealt with when he first arrived on the planet, but he was, eventually, able to overcome it. He created the human persona he now wore and walked among them, integrating himself into their society.
He had, in a spiritual sense, become one of them. But then the Mars missions were announced, and suddenly his hopes that his people survived returned. They were quickly dashed though, and J'onn found himself lost in a darkness he had not know in decades.
He knew he had to pull out of it...but part of him didn't want to. And, right now, that part was running the show.
"Here's your drink, Mr. Jones", said Denny as he placed another Jack Daniels on the rocks in front of him.
"Thanks, Denny", said J'onn as he took a sip and put the drink down,
"put in on my tab."
"Will do."
J'onn hated to do that, use his telepathy, the birthright of his people, to make Denny agree with him, but he had no money to pay for the drink right now.
He was starting to regret getting out of the PI business.

A few hours later, J'onn found himself walking home to his apartment. It was at least two in the morning and he was pretty hammered as he tried to keep himself steady and in human form. He must have polished off at least four bottles of bourbon tonight.
It took a lot for a Martian to get drunk off of Terran alcohol.
His thoughts continued to linger on his former people and his money problems when he senses the woman.
She was young, mid twenties, with baby blue eyes, rose red lips, a body to die for, and long blonde hair that glimmered beautifully in the moonlight.
By human standards she was drop dead gorgeous.
"Something I can do for you, miss", J'onn said as he turned to face the woman.
The woman was startled a bit, but she didn't let it show outwardly.
"You're that investigator, John Jones, aren't you?"
J'onn hesitated for a second as he scanned her surface thoughts. Nothing was out of the ordinary, and she seemed to genuinely want his help with something. He could have probed deeper, but J'onn still had his morals. He'd allow her to explain herself the way all humans do.
"Maybe...who wants to know?"
"My name is Sue...Sue Stacy. I...I need your help, Mr. Jones. Something's happened to my father."
She looked around the street as if waiting for some unseen assailant to burst from the shadows and attack, "But I can't discuss it here. I need to go some where we can talk privately."
J'onn sighed and nodded his head.
Well, he thought to himself, at least I will not have to worry about money problems for the time being.
"Very well, Ms. Stacy", said J'onn,
"my office is just around the corner. We can continue this conversation there if you'd like."
