Character you would like to play: Lana Lang aka Misfit

Powers: Super strength, blue plasma bolts, speed, flight and gloves grant blue force fields. Trained at martial arts and fencing.

Basic history of the character:

Lana's birth town was Smallville, but at the age of one, Lana was moved to Gotham with her mother and father. Lana grew up with childhood friend Rachel Dawes. Her father was a successful businessman at Queen Industries, earning lots of money. Lana had intense fencing and martial arts training at her boarding school.
The money he got and the experiments at Queen Industries soon went to her father's head and he became sick in the head. He tried to murder Lana and her mother but failed, thus being arrested. Lana used Robert Queen's "Prometheus" technology, which harnesses alien DNA to give an individual super-human abilities, on herself, so she could steal money and give to her Mother.

But she soon realized what she was doing wrong, after she gained thousands of Dollars and moved to Metropolis. She now works at the Daily Planet. She has recently gained the alias Nightwing.

Three reasons why you have chosen that character:

1. She's a cool character

2. I love how she's portrayed in comics and Smallville.

3. I think she needs more attention in the UDC

What do you plan on doing with this character as a person? (IE: How are you 'utlimizing' him or her?): I plan on making her the heroine she's always wanted to be. I also plan to make her less involved with Superman, seeing how her life would of turned out.

Please provide two complete sentences explaining what you can bring to this RPG (as a player): As a play I can bring a bimbo and a female.

Lana Lang sat down onto her small chair, facing her desk. She carefully shifted aside a stack of papers and observed her computer screen. Lana typed away, until, she found what she was looking for.
"What!? 'Mysterious acts in Metropolis at Night re-occur'....wow, the Daily Star really does need a new writer" Lana muttered to herself. In the corner of her eye, Lana could see someone in the dark shadows. Lana thought she was meant to be alone. It's after closing time at the Daily Planet and Perry only allowed Lana to stay behind. Who could it be? Lana slowly got up, she turned herself around. Glaring at Lana, was a female, slender figure.


Lana decided to make the first move. She lunged forward, hands first. Lana and the dark figure slammed to the floor.
"Reveal yourself" Lana growled. Lana felt her hands round the person's neck. She suddenly felt a fool of herself. What if this person was the cleaner? Or another worker who Perry said they could stay behind? Lana climbed off the figure and leaned against the desk, cracking a nervous laugh.

The figure slowly got up, still in the shadows. Lana switched on a lamp which was placed on a nearby desk. The figure stepped forward. Lana tried to see who it was, considering half there face was in the shadows. Lana could make out the figure was a female person.
"If you've got nothing to hide, why don't you come out?"
A chuckle was heard, a joyful one, not a sinister one. Lana seemed confused, she stepped forward, she felt like blasting the female with her powers....but that would expose her.


"You never change, do you Lang?"
Rachel Dawes slowly walked towards Lana, grinning.

I know that this is an Ultimate continuity, and original ideas are encouraged whenever possible... but I think that turning Lana Lang into a superpowered vigilante called Nightwing is a bit too much of a stretch. Lana's got history in Superman's early backstory that wouldn't match up with your idea, and Rachel Dawes' history in the game also contradicts that. Not to mention that the use of the Nightwing moniker seems randomly placed on, as opposed to being of specific origin that would warrant it's use.

Basic history of the character: College football star and science genius Jay Garrick inhaled Hard water fumes giving him superspeed. He donned the Costume of the Flash and joined the JSA.

1. I like Super-speed

2. There needs to be an ultimate JSA

3. I came up with this cool idea for his ultimatazation.

What do you plan on doing with this character as a person? (IE: How are you 'utlimizing' him or her?): In ultimate continuity, he was Preserved by a secret branch of the U.S. Goverment after WWII. He was brought back by Amanda Waller and her "Checkmate Iniative" in recent years. However, he releized she was planning something sinister and turned on her and became an indepent hero- Mercury (changing his name out of respect to the new Flash).

Please provide two complete sentences explaining what you can bring to this RPG (as a player): I can bring the Ultimate JSA. I am also a RPG rookie looking to have a fun time.

I was standing in the Corridor leading to that secret room. I was curious as to what was inside. However, Ms. Waller had been so nice to me, reviving me from statis, providing me a home in this confusing century, that I didn't want to intrude on her God-given rights of privacy. However- What if there was some type of terrible secret behind that door?
Call down, Jay, I told myself, You're going into fairy-tale teritory now.
However, I needed to know What the hell was going on behind that dorr. So walked to it and opened it.
Nothing could have prepared me for the sight inside.
Amanda was standing over test-tubes that had little grosteque figures inside.
"GET OUT!"
What-what is this?.
" You are not going to live forever. I'm trying to clone you but Yuor speed is preventing me as of now"
I was Incensed
"This is wrong! Those are Humans- Dying. Besides- It is my body. You can't take its stuff and do what you want with it."
" I'll tell you what is right and wrong. now GET OUT!"
Get out....oh I will.
I rushed at my top speed to my chambers, where I got my Mercury costume. i found the nearest exit and went outside.
After all, It was only my trust in her - my child-like Naievity that kept me a prisoner of Waller's.
I ran out toward my new life........

there's a few characters that I'd be interested in giving a go...but I do have one question. Has anyone picked up/used John Stewart?

I honestly think Stewart's the only GL that hasn't been attempted at some point or other (at least, not in any way worth remembering).

John Stewart was actually played early on in Season II of the traditional DC RPG. He was played by a player called...PFunk2. He wrote mostly solo stuff.

I've been going back in the archives of that season. We did some fine work.

Kara, if you're looking to have a female character with plasma powers like that, I don't think anyone's done anything with Starfire yet. You might find a way to Ultimize her based on what you've got.

And Thor, I don't think Fire or Ice has been taken yet, either. But don't quote me on that, because I'm really bad at remembering the early stuff.

Okay. Andy C. has pointed out a time discrepancy in my Amazo origin, so I'll be doing a ret-con there...which will take some thought.

I'm sticking with my deranged Mimic version of Amazo, just changing his history and probably motivation...since the Doom Patrol angle doesn't work if they weren't 'dead and gone' for quite a while.

Might end up striking that first post altogether, or just doing a serious re-write.

Any thoughts?

Powers: Sungirl can generate and manipulate flames of intense temperature. She can control flames when near them, like putting them out, making them bigger or spreading them. She can also increase the temperature on objects, making them melt. She has not yet used the melting power on humans.

Basic history of the character:

One Thousand Years Into The Future.
Laruh Murgaan grew up on Enceladus. There was only one village on the whole moon. This village was surrounded by protective force fields, invisible to the outside world. The force field was just enough to protect the village from the icy outside. But, the top scientists of her village discovered that Enceladus was starting to meltdown from a mysterious heat. The moon was labeled DANGEROUS and no one could EVER go outside the the force field. People were getting ready to move to earth, revealing themselves. But, an evil alien race of Martians attacked Enceladus, bursting the force field. People died, people fled. But no one could escape the meltdown. The Martians had special coating around them, protecting them. Laruh managed to loose her family in the invasion. Alone, wondering whilst the Invasion commences. As Laruh ran from the martians she ran into a pit, falling into it. Mysterious hot gasses submerged into her, making her powerful.

Laruh decided the only way to stop her family was to go back in time and kill all the Martians she saw. She managed to ran into the abounded Scientist lab and searched. She rested their for days. Eventually, she found one. It had a warning on. She set it for a hundred years back. Much to her surprise, she landed one thousand years back in time.

She named herself Laura Morgan after spotting someone with a similar name to herself in the paper. She stole a costume from a movie set, using her powers. Now, her mission is to blend in with society and track down all Martians. She dubbed the name Sungirl recently and has landed a job in Keystone city. Where her journey begins.

1. She's a character who needs to be developed more.

2. I would like to progress her in becoming more Villainess.

3. She'll be quite cool to play.

What do you plan on doing with this character as a person? (IE: How are you 'utlimizing' him or her?): I plan on making her origin different and her missions more focused. I would also like to make her more visible to the world.

Laura Morgan stood in the tall long building she worked in. She was on the twentieth floor, leaning against the elevator which was awaiting to come. She looked out to Keystone city. Laura worked at WKEY-TV a television station. She was responsible for finding interesting stories on Metahumans and giving them to the news reporters to report. Laura's red hot hair was tied back into a thick pony tail. She wore a black coat which tangled below her knees. She looked around, observing the people passing by.
"Come on. Come on. Will this elevator ever come?"

Suddenly, a lanky man, with a brown goatee and short spiky brown hair came running over to Laura. He had on a pinstripe Grey suit. He seemed tired, he clutched a copy of today's news paper.
"Laura...read....inside..." He handed the paper to Laura, tired, his arms shaking slightly. Laura snatched it and opened it up.
"Page...10, the small box" The man puffed. Laura smiled. She flicked through the paper until she stopped at page 10. She observed the article he was talking about. Her eyes widening as the time flew by.
"What's so interesting about that?" Laura questioned, looking deeply into the man's eyes. The man slowly stood back, catching his breath.
"The woman's name is Laura Morgan. She's suing you! Are you not bothered Laura?" The man questioned. Laura sighed, she shook her head and smiled. She walked away, clutching the newspaper. She head for the stairs.

She finally reached the flight of stairs. She slowly walked down them, observing the article more closely.
"Sue, me?" Laura grumbled to herself. She crunched the paper in her hands, getting increasingly angry. Her hand was fixed around the paper. She made sure no one was looking. Her hands burst with a red aura around her. The paper had soon melted. She walked on.
"Well. Not a problem. I was never going to let her live anyway"

Powers: Ability to absorb the physical abilities of others with an absolute degree of perfection...however, he is unaware of his ability to absorb superheroic powers at this writing.

Hero, Villain, or Walking The Line?: Villain

Basic history of the character: Alphonse Mazzo grew up on thr rough streets of Chicago. He had been in and out of Juvenile Hall throughout his elementary aged years and taken from his parents to become a ward of the state at age 14. "Just one of them things," as he was to become famous for saying.

On the surface, it was for the best. His father, Giuseppe, was a degenerate gambler; when he was winning, nothing was too good for the family...when he was losing, nothing the family had was good enough for him. His mother, Jeannie, was a drunk. She would prostitute her body when her husband had lost the rent money gambling. They both took out their frustrations on the young boy, but as he would always say, it was "just one of them things."

In the reformatory he learned many valuable lessons. The first, he was quick to pick up on...gambling is a sucker's game if you're not the one in charge. He also learned to ALWAYS call another man's bluff. The next was the most interesting...Alphonse learned that he had a 'photo-genic' memory-that he could duplicate anything he had seen another person do. While in custody he watched the 1976 Olympics...winter and summer...and to this day can repeat any given performance. A very handy ability indeed.

Well, unless it's a case of murder, juvenile's are turned free at the age of 18. Al Mazzo, by this time, was well 'schooled' and knew what he wanted to do with his life. While he was inside, his mother had died from a drug over-dose; apparently she had graduated from alcohol to hard-drugs while he was inside. "Just one of them things," he would later say. Anyhow, he had made connections inside those reformatory walls, and was ready to go to work for the 'real' powers that be in Chicago. And 'work' he would.

Frankie Fio Rio had served a short time with Al Mazzo at the Jackson Kirby Reformatory and had seen him in action. He had shared his observations with his uncle...Fredo Fio Rio, capo of the Lakeshore community in Chicago's First Ward. So, Uncle Fredo decided to give Al a 'tryout.' Well, the 'tryout' consisted of doing a hit on a gambler/gunman that was creating problems at the time. Al asked for a bow and one arrow to do the job. They thought he out of his mind. He repeated his request. And, they gave him a bow...and one arrow. Giuseppe Mazzo, the degenerate gambler...Alphonse's own father, was dead within four hours. Al was on his way.

Al soon found himself in charge of his own 'book.' (Gambling operation.) He had a reputation as a man people never welched on a bet with...or else. He also garnered a less known reputation....as a hit-man. The Powers-That-Be in Chicago came to rely more and more on this 'kid from a broken home' as time went on. So much so, that as time went on, he was proposed to become a 'made' member of the Chicago mob. He was now in a position to follow in the footsteps of people like Al Capone, Frank Nitti, Tony Accardo and Sam Giancanna...a real 'Wiseguy.'

Al kept working. He dated the showgirls. He took the best tables at the restaurants. He lived life at the highest level possible. But Al was hungry for more, and the Bosses knew it. They set Al up for a frame job on taxes. A text book case. Unbeatable. He knew it was them, and could do nothing about it...after all, the fact that they hadn't killed him instead was a sign of respect...wasn't it?

Al did his time. Quietly. He was released and had no contact with his former 'family.' During his heyday he had built up enough legitimate contacts, and well liked enough, to start up a successful legitimate business...so he did. As time went by, his business flourished and began attracting attention. Al knew he could handle it. What he couldn't handle was was the disrespect being pointed at him by those he felt (knew) had betrayed him. After all this time they still wanted a piece??!!! Fine.

Houses of reputed mobsters began blowing up in and around Chicago. Al was coming back for his, and God help any who got in his way. Boom. Boom Boom!! They fell...and all the while he gathered their gunmen and political allies to his side. Nothing would stop him.

Another Al now ruled Chicago.

3. C'mon...who wouldn't want to duplicate eveyone's powers?

'Ring....ring....ring' went the phone in the Miami Hilton.

"...mmm....hello...?" came the female's voice.

"Put the Man on the phone," said the cold voice on the other end.

"Honey, wake up...it's some guy on the phone," she said.

"Got it...ok...Yeah, this's Al....better be good..." Al said.

"Boss...it's Joey D...gotta get back to the Windy, y'hear?" he said, " Big stuff...might be a hit on ya there."

"Sleepin' Joe...let it wait..." Al replied.

**BOOM**

The doors to Al's suite were blown off the hinges. One smashed into the mini-bar...the other caught...what's-her-name?...smack in the chest and she was coughing blood instantly like she wouldn't make it. The gunmen rushed in.

Al rolled off the bed instinctively, grabbed his 9mm and was in position. He had been watching FBI training DVD's 18 months ago...he reacted like it was now.

*POP*POP*POP*POP*

Four shots. Four down.

'Someone in Chicago wants my job,' he thought, '...damn...she's dead...wanted to get one more out of her...oh well, just one of them things.'
