The episode actually wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. The Freaky Friday switch was stupid and unoriginal, but once they did switch I thought their reactions and subsequent actions in each others bodies were actually pretty funny. They have me for another week. Hopefully they can put two decent episodes in a row, but I'm not putting money on it lol

It would be great if that was the case, but I think they are going to distance themselves from EMH as much as possible since this is 'by marvel, for marvel'.. whatever the hell that means. The show will get a chance, but it will be a slim one.
So eleven episodes into the show and we've got only one Spider-Man villain so far (Venom)....three times. Now I like Venom as a character but even if he was done competently (which he isn't in this show) this would still be overkill.
Oh god. At least in TAS we had 3 parts Alien suit 3 parts Venom proper, and it wasn't Goonom either. On top of that, the story was actually good into and it actually felt like venom could take out Spidey at any time; plus Brock was just as crazy without venom face as he was with.
I liked the debut episode of venom (in spite of it really being-goonom) overall but I have a feeling I'll be watching my last USM episode after this week

I just want to make it clear, that what Bleedingcool has published is utter lies. I did not create a website just to bash ultimate spider-man. I did not create the jeph loeb facebook page, that page was online for a year or two, and i certainly did not lie about avengers emh been cancelled nor about avengers assemble replacing it (but those all got confirmed by now didn't they).
I also pretty much post what i get from agentX, and while i cannot vouche for his/her authenticity, all what he/she said has been proven right.
So keep an open mind about things, and never underestimate the power of big companies like Marvel. They chose marveltvnews to label it the bad site that manipulates the hate Ultimate Spider-man is getting, trying to tell people, see, only this guys hates the show, give ultimate spidey another shot you'll love it!

Part of me is excited to see "Venom" again,but the majority of how I feel is rather..."Eh." Because it's not the real Venom(Brock is Venom),and I must admit that as HUGE of a "Venom" fan as I am,that having him be the villain for the 3rd time in just,what,11 episodes seems a bit...excessive.
"FREAKY" is the 10th episode of "ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN" and the first one to air in a few months. It proved why I didn't miss this show one bit. While I do think it is about time Wolverine was the butt of jokes for the first time since "SPIDER-MAN AND HIS AMAZING FRIENDS" Season 2, it adapted a story that was probably the first sign that USM the comic book was heading down a path where I would no longer enjoy it.
This episode is an adaptation of an actual 2 issue USM story written by Brian M. Bendis and drawn by Mark Bagley called "JUMP THE SHARK", which was as crude as it was silly; Spider-Man and Wolverine get their minds swapped. It's a formula episode about as old as formula TV and at the time I was appalled that Bendis and Marvel felt the need to make fans pay $5.00 (at the time USM was still about $2.50 an issue) for a storyline they knew was rubbish and was intentionally rubbish for a cheap laugh. Seeing that story animated didn't make me feel any better about it, although at least this time it didn't cost me anything. Both Spider-Man and Wolverine team up to thwart a mind-control robbery spree in Time's Square by Mesmero, and while they wind up capturing the villain, he spites them by swapping their minds. So we thus get Logan-as-Peter snarling his way through high school, pounding Flash Thompson and making sleazy passes at MJ, and we have Peter-as-Wolvie spazzing his way through a fight with Sabretooth. Can they swap back to normal and will absolutely nothing they did have any ramifications on Peter's life? Is mud wet?
We have Steven J. Blum reprising his role as Wolverine from "WOLVERINE & THE X-MEN", "HULK VS. WOLVERINE", "MARVEL SUPER HERO SQUAD", "X-MEN ANIME" and no end of other appearances. As usual he does an excellent job, and this role in fairness allows him to showcase his range when Peter is within Logan's body. Naturally "Peterine" isn't as gruff so Blum has some fun with a very different Wolverine. Drake Bell also gets his chance to snarl a bit as "Logan", in a rare case where his awkwardness in the role works for him. Peter Lurie also reprises his role as Sabretooth from "W&TXM" and naturally has far more generic stuff to say. Dwight Schultz - someone who has voiced a character on "BEN 10", what a shock - plays Mesmero as a cheap, over-the-top 1980's cardboard cut out villain, and in fairness that is likely how he was written.
Naturally, you could pick this episode apart as easily as Wolverine could slice through a dumpster. The caveat was that "JUMP THE SHARK" in the comics was itself a stupid story, so there's really only so much that MAN OF ACTION could do here. It's like digging up an old dog turd and making a fresh turd atop it; all you'll get is a smelly mess. Why doesn't Mesmero simply attempt to "mesmerize" either Spider-Man or Wolverine at the start? Why does Spider-Man chastise Wolverine for attacking brainwashed civilians, when he HIMSELF threw a pile of them aside climbing a bus (much less those two he shoved aside when he was being chased by Sabretooth). Why does that "technical difficulties" banner keep popping up at least 4-5 times when it wasn't even funny the first time? Why has this show gone through the trouble of putting Wolverine in his brown costume and making jokes about his body hair while COVERING UP HIS ARMS so you don't SEE any body hair!? Why does Mesmero's "spell" kick in maybe 12 hours later and not immediately? How can Wolverine pop his claws when his wrists are bent if they come from his forearms? How can Peter's life not be messed up after Logan-as-Peter clearly beat up Flash Thompson (and likely wouldn't have held back with his strength), hit on MJ, made a scene in class and started fighting Sabretooth in broad daylight? Why does Logan give a lame moral at the end about Peter appreciating his life when Logan-as-Peter made no ATTEMPT to appreciate it or do more than growl at it!? What about Sabretooth and Mesmero more than likely knowing who Spider-Man is?
Highlight? Besides Blum, I have to admit the "ONE LIFE TO WEB" bit was modestly clever. "Dr. Doom as Brett"? I'd take Uwe Bole as the supervising producer at this rate. Yes, I'm dead serious.
While it may be equal time to see Wolverine mercilessly mocked in this show as much as Thor was, "ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN" continues to be a show that aims for the lowest common denominator and assumes their viewers are morons. The wrestling in Wolverine's apartment was more intellectually stimulating than this. I'm only two episodes away from matching as many episodes of this as I sat through "SPIDER-MAN UNLIMITED" or "MTV SPIDER-MAN" and then my geek pride will finally let me leave this webbed farce behind me. I'd rather have a Spidey show be shown as "a teeny bopper soap opera" than a brainless, criminally unfunny, intellectually bankrupt and artistically soulless corporate abomination of animated commercial toxic waste like this show is. Seriously, who WOULDN'T be deeply concerned for future Jeph Loeb produced shows after this putrid opening salvo?

I just realized that Jeph Loab them are stupid, I just watch the last episode of legend of korra, and that channel is a number one kids channel and see what happened in the show.
Just because marvel signed with Disney, doesn't mean they have to dump it down. Disney said the got marvel and wants marvel to do what they have being doing.
Lets all hope spider-man is the first and last to be aimed at kids.
